Selling property through Purple Bricks (PB) was not clearly explained with regards to the Conveyancing procedures. We found out the hard way that we have to use their own conveyancing lawyers which is the Premier Property Lawyers.
We were contacted by the assigned Conveyancing lawyer (CL) Samantha Dunn regarding the sale, charges. etc. The buyer of our property (who was with PB too) was fully informed and updated with the development process. As it progresses we haven't heard from our CL so we contacted her, left messages but no reply.
We then informed PB of this service that left us in limbo. We were then told that this person dealing with our house sale has left but no one bother to inform us. Our buyer has contacted us that they might pull out because nothing is moving from our end. The Premier Property Lawyers office did not have the courtesy to inform us of the change. They could at least informed us that Samantha Dunn had left because of the messages we left for her. After complaining to PB head office they have arranged another CL in the name of Helen Campbell to deal with our case. PB agreed with us of the poor service we encountered and ineffective communication. Surprisingly Helen was the one supervising this Samantha Dunn yet she did not take any action to inform us. She was very helpful and managed to get the ball rolling. This is the service that should be expected from any CL considering they are not cheap. Efficient service and communication are must to an effective company.
Based on our bad experience, I don't think I will ever recommend Property Lawyers ever to anyone.
