Review of Hunt Bike Wheels

Phenomenal Hunt 54 Aerodynamist

After a lot of research and planning, I upgraded the wheels on my Cannondale Synapse from Fulcrum Racing 6 (good alloys) to Hunt Aerodynamist 54. LBS swapped them over for very modest fee. The difference was just phenomenal. Seventeen PRs on Strava and I wasn't pushing it since I was getting used to the new feel. Comfort levels significantly improved too. As ever, there is a down side. With 54 rims, watch out for the cross winds. Can't recommend highly enough. Also worth noting that they are made in Taiwan, not China as is commonly misrepresented. I wish I'd done this years ago. My wheels come with lifetime crash or failure replacement included in the price. The aesthetics are pretty good too. Although north of £1k (with one new tyre, tpu tubes and fitting), it's basically saved me at least £3k since the alternative was a new bike but to purchase a new bike with that spec wheel is at least £3k, if not £4k. A very happy Hunt customer.

Recommended Car Rental

Easy pick up and drop off. Unlimited mileage excellent as we did about 2600 miles. Comfortable Toyota Corrola. 2l engine recommended due to the climbs. Charming young woman gave us lift to the airport after drop off. Totally recommend.

LV went the extra mile!

LV went the extra mile to sort out my insurance problem. They called me back as they picked up that I was stressed and needed help. Very caring indeed.

Highly recommended

I'm very surprised by the negative reviews since our experience has been superb. Initial installation delayed 24 hrs due to staff sickness (fine) but then diligent and easy set up the nect day. All tested and ready before they left (reviews that state never got service are suspect as why would you allow the engineer to leave before it's working??). Hard wired speed 1G and more.

A few minor negatives.
1. We kept landline and the first router did not have telephony so they had to change it. Easily done.
2. I learnt that older wifi gives you slower speeds but travels further while the newer, sizzling speed WiFi is fast near the router but greater degradation with distance. We bought a mesh system to mitigate so slightly reduced the saving from switching from Sky but still well worth it.

Hasn't dropped service so far.
Thoroughly recommend.

Review of Osbornes Law

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Supportive and a successful claim.

Enlisted the help of Osbornes after being knocked off my bike in June 2020. Thankfully the video evidence from my camera was extremely helpful. The legal process, potential costs, no win, no fee, expert reports and negotiating with the insurance company were all explained to me and subsequently dealt with by my lawyer, Laura Swaine. The process has taken 21 months but that is the nature of these matters. Having Osbornes on my side was immensely reassuring and they have helped me recoup my considerable expenses and then an award for the unpleasant injury I sustained which required surgery. I am happy to recommend Osbornes though, of course, I hope you never have need of their services!

First carbon framed bike.

Purchased first carbon framed bike and found the advice at my level and tailored to my needs. I was pleased to be formally measured for the correct size frame and offered a choice of pedals and shoes.

The process was unhurried and I felt that was important for the amount of money I was spending. The two stage procedure of purchase first followed by a basic fitting after the bike was built was very thorough and reassuring service.

Nothing was assumed and efforts were made to ensure I was happy and safe before venturing out on my new purchase.

100% perfect? Not quite. The saddle fastening bolt had not been tightened adequately resulting in the saddle slipping lower and lower as I cycled the 16k home. Somewhat embarrassingly had to stop at Evans in Brentford to borrow a hexagonal key.

Hey, no one is perfect so let's just settle for a 99% score. Thank you!

Review of EE

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I decided to switch from O2 to EE …

I decided to switch from O2 to EE because of their faster 4G and better coverage at Loftus Road. When at the footie with my son who is on EE, he got full and fast coverage and I got very little, if any.
I was paying O2 £38 pcm for 1Gig data and unlimited minutes and texts and found an excellent deal for EE with a ‘good as new Samsung S7’, 3 Gig of data and unlimited minutes and texts for £26-00 with a little up front for the phone.
So far so good.
Started to set up the S7 (good as new) and when I typed in the second letter of my email address, the first letter disappeared and the second remained. Ditto for the third etc.
After at least 1 hour to a very nice fella called Ben who tried all the things I’d already tried, he declared it was a fault he’d never encountered and suggested a replacement (good as new) phone. Fair enough. These things happen.
Started to set up the second phone. Typed in the second letter of my email address…need I continue?
This time I decided to go to the EE shop in Ealing. Again a very pleasant fella who took my and declared he had fixed it after about 20 seconds. When I asked how, he said he had turned off the predictive text i.e. turned my smart phone into a clever phone but not a smart one! In fairness, he spent a good 40 mins trying to sort the issue and then, like Ben, declared it was a fault he had never encountered. However, since I had purchased on line, I would have to call EE to address the issue.
So far, not so good really.
The following day, I called EE. I informed the handler re the above narrative and presented her with a simple choice. I felt that due to the inconvenience and considerable waste of my time, I should be offered a new S7 with the original deal. I had to go through the whole narrative again and after about 40 mins, the handler said she had to speak with her manager. Fair enough. After hanging on for a further 10mins or so, I heard a ring tone and suddenly found myself speaking to ‘Returns’. I said I very much hoped that she had been given the whole narrative but this person said I was the first person she had spoken to re my call!
So far, really bad.
I had to go through everything all over again though tried to give a condensed version and simply informed this person that I now wished to terminate my agreement as was my right within 14 days. This was duly done.
I was disappointed to see £95 go out to EE from my statement but after a call today, I was reassured that will be returned and my contract has indeed been cancelled.
Back to O2. New S7 with 6 Gig of data for £32 with a discount I was able to apply due to my work. A bit more than I wanted to pay but fine really. It has not fixed my stadium problem but I will live with that.
I am not a complainer who fires off irate reviews for no reason. I perfectly understand that tech goes wrong and I accept that. However, if a company sends me ‘good as new’ tech twice and they both fail, I do feel they owe me something to recompense me for my wasted time and considerable inconvenience. On this occasion, EE did not seem to agree with that so I feel they deserve this negative review. The only reason they got two stars is because two of their staff were polite and really tried to help me. Almost negated by the call handler who transferred me without so much as a by your leave!
