Great company with excellent employees

Great company with excellent employees. Rang Cambridge branch to talk about changing my 40 yr old turntable which had finally died ...i had done a bit of research beforehand but got asked the right questions and received very knowledgeable advice and recommendations... Decided on the basis of the conversation to buy a new Argon audio turntable. Wow ....a great bit of kit which exceeded my expectations.

Great company to del with

Hired an Epson Photo scanner to scan a couple of thousand old photo prints i had from the 80s & 90s ... Scanned them all easily in a day or so and the scanned images were excellent
Had an unusual problem with the initial software install but the Envio help line, although not being aware of that problem occuring before, helped me resolve it very promptly.
Great communications from Envio before, during and after the hire session. The scanner actually arrived early and well packed in a crate. The return process was very easy.

Absolute shambles

Been with Laithwaites for 7 years with generally good service .....However, I recently ordered another box of wine. Wine delivered was different to what ordered. Phone calls, emails and various excuses. Agreed to send the wine back and correct wine would be sent. Sent wine back and amazingly they sent me the wrong wine again! Spoke again and was promised a call back by the end of the day with an explanation and resolution...... No call received and still waiting. Then Laithwaites send me an email and ask for feedback .... Well this is it.

Great card for travel

Great card for travel. Superb app, the best exchange rates and no hidden fees.
Love that you immediately get a confirmation email of the purchase with the sterling cost often arriving before you have left the premises.
I use my card in google wallet with no problems at all

Great travel card and so easy to set up…

Great travel card and so easy to set up and use. Very good mobile app. Currensea are very transparent on fees and lightningly quick sending email notification of use - many times we have received the spend confirmation email while still in the establishment.
Would highly recommend.

Great service

Had a fault with the ADBLUE system on my Mazda 6. Rang Donald's in Bury St Edmunds and spoke to Brad in the tech team. Discussed the problem and agreed to bring the car in later in the week. Met Brad on arrival who was excellent and resolved what was a slightly obscure fault very promptly. Brad is very knowledgeable on Mazda. I would highly recommend Brad and Donald's if you have a Mazda or KIA vehicle.

5* wines, 1* Customer care

Fantastic very drinkable wines and always delivered quickly. Good value and probably deserves a 5* 😊😊😊😊😊 for the wine.

However, for the last 3 months Laithwaites have failed to resolve what I would expect to be a simple issue of why I am not receiving any notification or sales emails from Laithwaites. I have had 7 telephone discussions on this matter and to date 6 separate people at Laithwaites have taken "personal responsibility" to resolve this issue - which still remains unresolved. 1* ☹️☹️☹️ for this customer care aspect. No doubt this review will trigger someone else to ring me and promise to take "personal respibsibility" to resolve it.

Booking system failure

Got to our hotel for our stay and dine break in Lincoln to be informed that the hotel restaurant was actually closed for refurbishment! Although the hotel had previously notified red letter's booking agents, that agent had not informed us of this major issue.
Thanks go to Holiday Inn who remedied the situation for us by refunding part of the accommodation cost (at their expense) so we could go and eat elsewhere.
Something when drastically wrong here Red Letter days!

Some good some bad experience...

Some good some bad experience....

Good: ordered another case of wine and as normal it was swift delivery and good quality wine.

Meh: Prices have crept up over the past year or so (feels something like a 20% increase?) and as such, despite the large choice provided by Laithwaites, I am now questioning if the wines are as good value as they were when compared to other suppliers.

Bad: Have had to speak to customer services 4 times to get my email address registered on the Laithwaites mailing server. 3 of the 4 agents all promised to "own the problem" and "personally resolve it" .. Issue still not resolved and recent wine delivery had no notifications of planned delivery again . Although have received an email requesting this feedback! Well you did ask for it.

Regarding the increase in prices of our wine, we had to slightly increase it in line with other things. We are always trying to bring you with some amazing offers with great savings and keep our prices competitive, but we can't always keep the same prices as it is out of our control. Great card. Easy and transparent

Have been using my new Currensea card for a week in Croatia. No problems using it in ATMs, restaurants and shops. Excellent that emails received immediately (minutes) after any use informing of the sterling value of the transaction and a summary email every few days with a summary of all use.
The mobile app is very clean, simple and easy to use. It's clear that the developers have thought a bit out of the box with this app.
Highly recommended.
