I needed to replace the plastic bag…

I needed to replace the plastic bag that I used to carry a few items to the gym. I didn’t need a big, traditional gym bag and when I saw your tote bag, I jumped at it. It was larger in real life than I imagined. I appreciate the zippered pocket inside. It is just what I needed and the colour matched my water bottle perfectly!

Very happy with my purchase

Very happy with my purchase! It is even better to what I imagined… the quality, the number of inside pockets, all the details, the fabric etc. The size is perfect for my laptop and it’s way more “chic” than any other laptop bag.
Note the black is not a “real” black, it’s more of a dark grey but I actually love this colour!

I seldom buy bags from the Internet but…

I seldom buy bags from the Internet but when I saw the Pontes Des Arts all over my feed , I knew I wanted one . I ordered the Trocadero and the Medium sized Trocadero in Bordeaux and paid for expedited shipping because I wanted to carry the bag on a trip to NYC . The bag was delivered within the expected time frame and I was pleasantly suprised by how much it carried . For a trip to NYC , I packed this bag with my iPad , toiletry pouch , wallet , card case , water bottle ,AirPods Max , a cashmere travel wrap , an umbrella and some knick knacks including but not limited to gum , mints , etc . I was also able to use the front and back pouches to hold my phone and a book . The bag didn’t feel heavy despite all this and I did carry this bag all through NYC in pouring rain and the bag was water resistant for the most part and didn’t carry any watermarks or anything after letting it sit to air dry . My only complaint is that the front packet’s knob is a little difficult to operate but I believe that it’ll ease off with use . I’m very satisfied with this purchase and hope to get a larger backpack when possible

They look better online than in…

They look better online than in reality. They sag and bunch up like a sack. The clean look you see online is inaccurate unless stuffed with a lot of paper to achieve that shape. Plus, they have an expired Black-Friday deceptive advertising to lure customers to their site. Lastly, customer service is poor. Buyer beware!

This is a follow up response to Zede's reply below. Everything I mentioned in my earlier review above is accurate.

I purchased the regular size bags and they fold up like a sack when you put normal stuff in them. I thought it was because they were too big. I then ordered the next size down and those did the exact same thing as the regular sizes... they bundled up like a hobo sack.

I was trying very hard to achieve the elegant clean-line look on their site. However, I nearly gave up when suddenly I started seeing these Ads about a Black-Friday sale from Zede. I ignored them for days, but they continued to pop up on every website I visited online for weeks after Thanksgiving. I then thought to myself, this must be an extended sale because some companies do have Black Friday sales on other months of the year. So I decided to take advantage of it to purchase the mini sizes. When I got to checkout, I noticed the original discount had adjusted to a much lower discount.

I contacted Zede by email concerning what I thought was a technical error. Rather than honoring it, they responded by claiming the promotion was over. I told them at that point to remove it because it's misleading.

For the following two weeks or more after that, they continued to run these deceptive online Ads. Then I knew it was deliberate.

NOT VERY COMPASSIONATE OR UNDERSTANDING!

I guess I was destined to never get one of their bags! I ordered their most expensive bag and after a month or so, the bag is delivered in its packaging to my door, wherein within two hours later, my bag is stolen from the front of my door by my neighbor who is a thief and who has stolen many things from her apartment neighbors throughout the years! She gets to stay in the apartment complex because the management covers for her and her deeds! I filed a police report and the case is being worked on as we speak! I told my dilemma to the ZEDE company in several emails back and forth, and told them this is not my fault that I didn’t get my bag. I asked for another bag and I offered to pay shipping and taxes but they said sorry and wouldn’t compromise. This family run company makes tons of money annually with their sales and I don’t understand why they couldn’t help me out in my moment of distress. Word of warning: thieves are running rampant during the holiday season and stealing your packages as well as your dreams of owning a well made bag!

We would, however, like to clarify a few important details for transparency. Our standard delivery timeframe is 4–7 business days, and your order was delivered on the 8th business day. While we sincerely apologize for this one-day delay, we would like to clarify that the delivery did not take a month, as mentioned in your review. As the shipment was sent to Hawaii, transit times can occasionally be slightly longer, and we are continuously working with our logistics partners to improve this.

We can confirm that your order was properly fulfilled, shipped, and delivered, and we have official proof of delivery from the carrier. As you also confirmed in our email exchanges, the address shown on the proof of delivery matches the address provided at checkout. Unfortunately, you informed us that the package was stolen after delivery by someone in your building, and that a police report has since been filed.

While we truly empathize with the frustration and distress this situation has caused, theft occurring after a confirmed delivery is outside of our control. As mentioned in our previous emails, you may be able to submit a claim through your home insurance or credit card insurance, as many offer coverage for stolen packages under certain conditions. We remain at your disposal should you need any supporting documentation, including proof of delivery, to assist with your claim.

This is an unfortunate situation, and while we are very sorry for what you experienced, we did take all the necessary steps to fulfill, ship, and deliver your order as promised.

Disappointing products and misleading service

1. I ordered a purse in one color that was in stock, (as opposed to backordered items) with the website describing "express" service within 3-7 days. The online ad showed an elegant looking vividly colored ladies' purse easily held on the arm of a model.
2. My order was confirmed in an email , but the next day I got an offer to get 30% off of a second purse, so I ordered a second, (adding $90 to my original $129 order), but in a different size and color, which was on back order.
The total for the order was revised appropriately.
3. Two weeks later I still didn't have the first purse I had ordered (the one that was in stock) Customer service explained on email that because I'd ordered the second purse, which was on back order, *neither* purse shipped within 3-7 days (quite odd -- most vendors will ship what they claim is in stock and available for "express" shipping, then follow on later for the back ordered items).
4. Finally both items shipped 11/22 and they arrived at my post office box 12/1 (26 days after I first ordered), not in a box, but in cheap synthetic wrapping paper
5. The "normal" sized item was more like a small tote suitcase than an elegant purse, a heavy 2.5 American lb., with very sturdy rough sailcloth like material, not feminine looking as in the online ad. The "bordeaux" color was dim and not vibrant as shown on the internet. It was also made in China, not in "Paris" (only administration and perhaps design is reportedly in Paris). I was disappointed, but decided to keep it, repurposed as a tough tote bag for throwing around on car field trips, rather than an elegant ladies' purse.
6. I tried to return the even heavier, bigger tote, using the hard to find return portal, but the return portal did not work properly, so I sent email requesting setting up a refund. I was offered an option of keeping the second bag and getting a "40% refund on the original price" of the bag refunded to my credit card. I agreed (especially given reports of hassles returning the totes). I was surprised when I was given a $12.90 refund on the second bag on my credit card, when I had paid an $90 for it (the non-discounted price was $129,and I did not expect 40% of that, but no way did I expect $12.90).
7. I questioned the amount of the refund on an email, and the rep engaged in very creative accounting to explain how $12.90 is 40% of the extra $90 I paid to get the second bag.
8. In sum, there were too many dissatisfying and misleading features with Zede for me to recommend them: it was hidden that the bags are made in China, unclear that they are very rough and heavy, there was delayed shipping even on items supposedly in stock, and they had misleading "partial refund" offers.
Going forward, if I want a bag from China, I will just stick with the ones that are offered on Amazon prime that ship within 2 days, with clear and easy labeling for free returns if you are unhappy (and overall, they are cheaper with less headaches and less "surprise" news).

Regarding the refund, the 40% partial refund is offered as an option for you to keep the bag without the hassle of returning it. We understand that this may not have met your expectations. As communicated in our emails, if you prefer, you also have the option to return the bag for a full refund.

We also want to clarify that our bags are crafted in our own workshop in Asia, combining Parisian heritage with exceptional manufacturing expertise. ZEDE draws on over 40 years of experience producing for France’s most prestigious bag brands in Le Marais. Production is managed in our controlled facility to maintain high quality, while all design work is done in our Paris atelier, allowing us to offer excellent products at accessible prices.

Shipping Time

ZEDE really should change their shipping info because 3-7 days definitely does not apply if you are ordering from the U.S. I placed my order on 11/7 and the latest update says it will arrive on 12/2. That's almost a month (and I live on the east coast; if you're on the west coast, it may take up to a week longer). If you are ordering this for a present and need it by a certain day, make sure you order well ahead of time. These bags better be spectacular!

I bought the largest one offered because I carry a lot of “junk.” This bag is HUGE….almost small luggage size. In fact, I may use it for my short trips! It is well made, sturdy, and fashionable. I just ordered a second one in a smaller size. Worth the cost and wait.

Just what I was looking for!
