verything. And, most importantly, this care is genuine. Very comfortable psychologically. Breakfast and board were of the highest quality and in large quantities. I have never seen such a breakfast and such service, and I have many things to compare it with. It was very well located, very quiet and very comfortable room. Finally I found a hotel that I want to come back to.

Stayed a night at the Streatley hostel. A clean, pleasant single room 5 minutes from the Thames for £31! Had marvellous day walking on the Ridgeway - larks, kites, butterflies, views, and a morning walking along the Thames Path - stunning. Great conversations with other travellers, clean, thoughtfully equipped self catering kitchen, well located central hostel, pleasant communal spaces, friendly staff.

YHA Liverpool Centre
The bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful and did their best with the heat. That was all I needed for the single night I stayed (due to an early event the next day). They also have luggage storage for departing guests. Be aware that this hostel is in the centre of Liverpool so may be quite noisy at times (particularly if you need the window open due to heat). If you want to be central to the nightlife this is a good thing, if you want it a little quieter try on YHA on the docks instead

I booked a stay at YHA Idwal Cottage to climb Snowdon. Travelling from London I phoned to find out what the late check in procedure is - there isn’t one. In fact access won’t be granted after the reception closes. Ok no issue, I’ll have my money back? No - YHA despite complaining and escalating will not offer a refund, despite not making clear that you will not be able to check in late when you book.
What a great place to discover a new sense of purpose coming out of Cornwall. The facilities at YHA Eden Project combine modern accommodation design with the communal traditions of hostelling in a setting that oozes the regenerative power of the Eden Project. In a brief visit we came away with renewed energy and purpose, inspired by a landscape defining a new, positive and inclusive narrative for the Clay communities of mid-Cornwall.

Many years since we used YHA & standard of ensuite rooms at Malham & York was very good.
Thought breakfast was expensive in relation to accommodation cost.
Breakfast quality at York was poor

Langdon Beck Hostel: Teesdale is a beautiful area, not overwhelmed with visitors, fantastic river walks, birdlife, rare flora on the moorlands. The hostel provides an economical and friendly place to stay.

Very impressed, this is the first time we have used YHA, and all of us in the group (11 adults) said we would use them again. Very easy to book, clearly laid out site showing what is available, facilities, menu, photos etc. We booked at Snowdon, excellent location, clean rooms, showers and toilets etc. The staff provided stellar customer service, helping with booking in, parking and all our questions, plus serving us and a host of other patrons. Overall, excellent value for what you get and have access to, definitely made the start of our Welsh 3 Peaks easy and pleasantly memorable. Highly recommended.

Great to have a place to stay with the basic amenities and campsite was great too with decent showers and cooking and dining areas. What made this extra special was that it was very friendly and the guests were great too, felt like I was in a mature European type hostel were everyone was respectful and not loud or pissed up.

Wye Valley YHA is in an idyllic spot on the banks of the river Wye. Beautiful location, surrounded by forest, it’s probably the nicest YHA location I’ve been to (and I’ve been to a few). We stayed in a LandPod outside by the river, it was superb. Sitting out under the stars with logs burning in the fire pit outside our pod was pretty special. Lovely staff too - couldn’t have been more helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

Great location and staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Although we arrived early we were able to access our room to leave our bag before going off to visit the Welcome Museum which is just a few minutes away and well worth visiting.

Patterdale YHA has a great location and is a hostel with a unique vibe. Everything a fell walker needs: hot, powerful showers; well equipped kitchen and super friendly team. It's become an annual visit.

Hello, I stayed one night (but paid two nights - the 'why' follows below) in YHA Wye Valley. The place is very beautiful and nature is all around it. You can hear birds singing and quails/ducks walking around.
However, not all is 'perfect'. Let's start with the pros:
Pros:
- staff: they are indeed really nice;
- location: the place is amazingly beautiful;
- price: it is quite reasonable and affordable;
- tent: spacious and nice, three beds, lots of spaces;
Now, the cons. Take this with a grain of salt, because I (and only I) am responsible for trying to camp during the WINTER, I reckon going in the SUMMER would change my perspective altogether.
Cons:
- potholes: prepare yourself for learning about potholes and lack of maintenance - I've read other postings here and I thought people were being mean: no they were not, it's real. They say 'they fixed', that's impossible, unless you rebuild the whole path, which they will never do;
- cold: mid-April is still very very cold - around 5C - and the "inside furnace" does a POOR job (and extra pack is pricey: £10, pro-tip: buy more at Ross-on-Wye for less than that);
- parking: there's a parking near the house, however, if you are on the tents, people put their cars in the entrance (albeit forbidden) and care less about anyone else;
- bike: there is no "family ride" in this location - we brought our bikes and couldn't find any tracks, except the ones shared with cars, which are very very narrow and the potholes will probably cause an accident;
I wish I had paid the price and stayed at Ross-on-Wye and then visited that YHA in the jungle - I had to leave one day in advance because I thought I'd die of cold in the tent.

YHA, Hawes Hostel, North Yorkshire.
A very well managed hostel. Great facilities, spotlessly clean and well organised. Lovely location on the edge of the village.

Great hostel, staff top-notch as ever. Really good vibe in this hostel, helped by generous communal areas and on-site bar with great beer.
