Solid LOS at a fair price, but data access and support need attention
Posting in a personal capacity. Sonar’s mortgage LOS has been a valuable tool for us—it simplifies complex processes like originating mortgages and managing secondary-market workflows, and it does so at a reasonable price. That’s a big win in today’s competitive software space.
Where I’ve struggled is with data access and support responsiveness. For enterprise reporting, I need recurring access to our full dataset. Currently, the API only supports single-item queries, and there’s no option for scheduled file delivery (e.g., SFTP). To work around this, I had to build a multi-step integration using webhooks and a third-party platform, then query that via API. It works, but it’s inefficient and costly.
Support has made this harder. Emails go unanswered, if answered stop mid-thread, and often require escalation through colleagues. This has delayed reporting for leadership and added unnecessary complexity and expense.
What would make a big difference:
Bulk/aggregate API endpoints or scheduled exports;
A clear roadmap for data access;
Consistent, timely support follow-through.
If these areas improve, Sonar could be an outstanding solution. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions as of Sept 2025.
