I can understand the criticism of these sheds, as they do have challenges in construction but this has to be balanced against the price and finished product. The instructions are useless and I w... See more

Took ages to build!
I purchased 8 x 7 metal shed direct, took about three weeks to arrive, large cardboard box, very heavy.
I’m a plumber and consider myself competent in construction of things, this took me ages! I reckon about 12 hours in total, I started with roof which took 4 hours and then had to wait for calm day to do rest. Instructions not that clear but it does go together well and the end product is good.
To be fair it is exactly what they say it is a self build shed, if you haven’t a practical mind and can’t read plans this isn’t for you, get someone to build it for you!
Yardmaster 10x4 shed
Bought a shed from shed store, the yardmaster 10 x 4 metal shed. Yes, was quite tricky to put up, I'm quite an experienced diyer and will take most challenges on. I found that a number of the holes didn't line up correctly. I therefore had to get the big boy cordless drill out which doesn't bother me. Inserted a hss 2mm jobber drill bit, and easily made a new hole after a mere 10 seconds of drilling. With a bit of patience and strength the self tapping screws found their way in. The roof was the challenging part because when it was lifted on it was way off. It was remedied by screwing in what I could on one side then convincing the rest of it to shape accordingly. The instructions are ambiguous at best, but watching the you tube video really helped to make sense. Have patience and it will be erected, lose patience and the shed will be taken by the scrap metal man. Expect to get cross, expect it to take a few days to errect, expect to make a phone call to yardmaster for missing parts. My patience paid off. I've got a nice shed erected, bone dry inside. I'm happy with the result but it was a frustrating journey, hence one star lost.
Yardmaster metal shed
I bought a Yardmaster shed over a year ago - it was a nightmare to put up - took 2 of us days to put up due to all the screws required, holes not matching up, instructions not clear. Doors still do not close and keep falling off the hinge at top. The worst thing I have ever purchased. I too contacted Yardmaster when I tried to build it for help and advice and got no response. My advice is look for another option and do not waste your money on these products.
It’s a cheap metal shed
It’s a cheap metal shed. Anyone that struggles to build it or can’t figure out how to build it without instructions should get back to the office and stop with the DIY. Cheap cheerful and may require a little fabrication. No issues. 10x8 took a day on my own.
Waste of time and money (3mx4m Shiplap)
The shed (3mx4m Shiplap), as others have said, is a nightmare to erect. The instructions provided are a complete joke. There's parts of them that don't indicate which screws to use, it instructs to put the roof panels on a certain way, which means you can't put the ridge covers on. I ended up with too few smaller screws, left over longer ones, a load of washers and there were a dozen more nuts than the equivalent bolts.
After struggling through the roof I discovered the Yardmaster YouTube video for the Shiplap says to assemble the roof on the floor and lift it on. On a 3mx4m roof this would require 4 people. Also, why do they contradict their own provided instructions!
As others have said, holes don't align, some have been double drilled during manufacturing and then some pre-drilled holes are too big so the self tapping screws don't self tap.
Many of the parts had bent corners, weren't straight or weren't de-burred. One of the door runners didn't align well so the doors don't close together.
I emailed support about the roof issues, who just ignored my email.
My advice, get another brand of shed.
Edit:
After 2 months of use the issues are worse than I first thought. Again, as others have said, it leaks - like a sieve. I've had to remove the roof screws and add silicone and re-screw them in.
Even then if it's windy and raining the rain will come in through the huge gaps in the gable end and underneath the ridge covers.
One of the sliding doors doesn't align properly so the front is all scratched. This is as a result of bent parts as mentioned above.
Several of the side panel screws that didn't self-tap have popped out in the wind.
The guttering is utterly useless because it was bent, along with everything else.
The one positive is the clear roof panels coupled with the white inside light it up really well. But the clear panels leak too.
Really frustrating to assemble and took…
Really frustrating to assemble and took 2 of us, reasonable DIYers, 2 days to build. Instruction manual is not at all clear. Had to bring PC into kitchen to keep running in to watch YOuTube video of it. Had to drill holes that were not aligned. Very flimsy which makes it even more difficult when building. Had to call Yardmaster for help and was told technician would call back never did. Never again would I put myself through the stress of trying to assemble this.
A good metal shed company.
Many of the negative reviews on line of this company appear to relate to a lack of competence with the home installer rather than a view of the product or company.
The metal shed is a good product, it clearly meets the claims made by Yardmaster. Although the shed are very complex to erect, by taking your time, carefully reading the installation manual and viewing the installation videos on youtube, a competent DIYer should have little trouble. The install does need a flexible approach and you may need to drill a few extra holes where they don't align. Allow 2 days and you should have every success. I have also seen on line comments about how waterproof the product is. 3 sleeves of trade mastic from a well-known store carefully applied and no water ingress whatsoever.
Over a 6 month wait for a metal shed
So i bought a Metal shed at the beginning of summer 2012 and was told 4 week wait. This shed was bought through Very. 4 week wait was acceptable i think. 4 weeks pass and i aint heard nothing, so i ring very and they say it should have been delivered yesterday, nope. So Very being the good company they are gave me the shipping back and a 30 quid good well gesture. This was nice of them. They followed it up to see where it was. They was told by their customer service sit tight its on it was so give it a couple of days. They would not give the name or number of the courier over. (turns out they still aint sent it out) now another 3 weeks pass and at this point im getting inpatient now. Ring very again and they give me a 20 quid good well gesture. They follow it up again and are told this time in two weeks i will get it as they waiting on container to come in. In two weeks still no shed. So six months since i ordered the shed it turns up, wrong colour, wrong fitments. I ring Very up and tell them all this, they give me a choice keep it and get 62% of the shed back. I done this as needed the shed for my little girls garden toys. So in total i paid 78 quid for a metal shed. This is because they kept messing me about and Very about. Yet they still doing this as a friend is having same problem now. But this is with yardmaster direct.
Terrible customer service do not uphold…
Terrible customer service do not uphold what is verbally agreed shipping is extortionate and not willing to listen
Do not bother, you’ll never get this time back!!
Review is for a 12x10 Shiplap TBSL metal shed!!
Do not be fooled by the simplicity and ease the two burly guys in the video, that is set in a studio, make it seem. This shed is NOT easy to erect.
First of all, alarm bells should have rung when I saw how small the 3 boxes were for the size of the shed. It has to be the worlds largest Meccano set, containing hundreds of fixings and very small parts. It will push your patience to breaking point.
2 builders and 3 days later, we gave up!!
We started erecting on a calm sunny day. By the end of day one, the roof was half-built. By the end of day two, the roof was complete and most of the side panels were up.
That evening we experienced 12mph winds, fairly light winds, but I was awoken to loud clattering noises as flimsy metal panels began flapping in the wind. I was out at 3am in the rain trying to save the shed and relationships with neighbours
As daylight broke, I could see the base frame was damaged and twisted, 3 panels were dented and 2 sides lay flat on the ground.
Completely fed up, I thought I’d check the roof we’d built on my patio. Lifting the roof section revealed puddles of water beneath, showing there were leaks all over the place, not a surprise when you consider the 100 or so screw fixings holding the roof panels together.
Coupled with self-taping screws not strong enough, an online manual that was incorrect (only use the paper that comes), I was utterly defeated and angry.
£700, two days and two builders with cuts later, we disassembled the roof, and now it lays waiting for a scrap metal guy to pick it up for free, as tin has no value.
YardMaster said they would replace the damaged parts, they appreciated the info about the out if date online instructions but wouldn’t do anymore.
A £1,100 life lesson, never buy a metal shed and if you do, get it with an assembly service, so you have recourse.
The only plus point. It would have looked very attractive
yardmaster and shedstore metal sheds…
yardmaster and shedstore metal sheds are dangerous
Purchased a metal yardmaster shed from Shedstore erected it in a sheltered yard three weeks later a wind about 35 to 40 mph came, the flimsy doors bent in the middle and and blew in then the flimsy metal ties they supplied just straightened up the shed took off like a weather balloon with sheets of paper thin metal flying everywhere, just as well I live in the country as this was so dangerous, both this company and yardmaster refuses to take any responsibility for this, I have told them I have it all on video they say it was the fault of the wind, they never told me that their shed is only suitable to be erected inside a proper shed to protect it, I paid almost £700 for this. Please do not buy from shedstore as these metal sheds are so dangerous I will be contacting the safety authorities as I believe those sheds are so dangerous.
Please do not buy from this company
Please do not buy from this company. Not only are the metal sheds impossible to put together but then the customer service assistant called Caroline implies that you are lying even though I have two workmen who will stand up in court as they were the ones who came to put it together and gave up after 2 and a half hours as it was so bad! I am so out of pocket and now no shed so we will probably have to go to court to resolve it as their customer service is so bad- at least it matches their sheds I guess!
Yardmaster metal shed - Really!
We recently bought a 8 x 6 Yardmaster metal shed. What a joke! Firstly the instructions aren't very clear but we managed to put it together over a couple of days. Looked OK, was put on a level surface.
There is no point to this shed to store anything. It leaks like a sieve. We wish we had read some of these reviews. Do not buy one!
We have had to seal any possible entrance points, seams, screw holes, it just seems to let in water everywhere, with silicone (14 tubes so far, now going to try expanding foam), costing us a fortune to just have a drier shed.
Only put this up in Oct 21, and it is already rusting too. It is a complete waste of money and not fit for purpose. We expected this shed to be a dry place, not like a swimming pool.

I bought a metal 10 x 8 ft shed 8 weeks ago
Delivered earlier than the 12 weeks given.
I am on my own and put the shed together with a couple of mistakes but easily sorted.
roof first then the shell
Instructions clear.
Took 2 to put roof on absolutely thrilled with end product
A big thankyou
Excellent is how I would describe my…
Excellent is how I would describe my experience of Yardmaster- Ordered shed & it was delivered well within the 6 week delivery time scale. By carefully reading & following the assembly instructions provided the shed was relatively simple to construct. All parts were numbered and holes all aligned. May appear to be flimsy in the box but it is a sturdy shed when it is assembled. Customer service was efficient & they sent me additional bits for customising free of charge. DL.- TD3
I have 2 sheds
I have 2 sheds, and have on three occasions contacted customer service for parts (once for a missing part, and twice for additional bits for customising, which were sent free of charge and incredibly promptly).
Both shed perform excellently. They take a bit of putting up, but re-reading the instructions carefully and correctly would have made things simpler! RTFM.
Unequivocally recommended!
I’ve just finished building a yard…
I’ve just finished building a yard master 6 x 6.
Whilst it took longer than I had expected the instructions I found simple to read it all fits into place with a bit of strength to pull things together.
Don’t attempt this if you don’t have a practical mind or can’t read flat pack instructions, best to hire someone to build it for you.
They are a good value shed option where wood would cost two or three times the price.
I will never purchase from this company…
I will never purchase from this company again, the customer service is a complete joke, talk about rude, and to top it off the shed I ordered was a 6×5 the the shed I received was 5x4 but according to the joke of customer service rep it's the correct shed I never read the small print lol. Stay away absolute terrible company
Can only reiterate what most say about…
Can only reiterate what most say about this product. So I'll focus on a couple of big issues. First, you have to get all around the shed to construct it. So if it's going against a wall or fence you will need to build it away then lift the whole thing into place. Second, whoever designed this has never built it! The idea of making the roof and lifting it into place is ridiculous. Half way through I abandoned the instructions and followed my instinct. It is also engineered down to a price. I would suggest that an extra cost of £50 and a lesson in instruction writing would make this an excellent product.
Read the bad reviews
Read the bad reviews. They say it all. DON'T BUY A YARD MASTER SHED.
I can build and design stuff from scratch and figured I'll give this a go. Four days to build this. Fiddly as hell, poorly illustrated, poorly written instructions and poorly pressed and punched metal all round. Measurements and overlaps that cannot possibly happen, so you have to re-design the thing to make it all line up. Thats not to mention the actual design. There's no way on this planet its not going to leak at each gable end.
Robert Dyers think that i just need to take some screws out to make it line up.
I wish i had protested more when the wife said your not building anything else and went and done it myself from scratch.
