AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Expensive, slow, disorganized, antiquated system that constantly loses documents that have been uploaded and verified (got several emails about documents still being needed that were already previously uploaded). Communication is also incredibly slow and terrible- they'll say a signature is missing when it clearly is not, then a large, clear date is illegible. WORST EXPERIENCE EVERRRR!

Needed Vital Stat Docs for foreign passport application
I want to get a foreign passport based on my Dad's country of birth, but for that I needed copies of his death certificate and marriage certificate to my Mom, both from NJ. I was able to figure out where he was married, and I helped get him into a nursing home where he died a year or so later, so I knew a lot, but dealing with two municipalities while living abroad to get the documents was daunting. VitalChek made it easy! You still need to know some stats and provide ID's and it isn't extremely cheap, but compared to the time I would have spent, and would still have had to pay for express or registered shipping, it was a bargain!
