Review for Artur (Engineer ID 13401)

Review for Artur (Engineer ID 13401)
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Artur (Engineer ID 13401) for the outstanding service he provided.
Artur was not only professional and knowledgeable, but he was also incredibly kind, patient and compassionate during his visit. He took the time to listen to my concerns, explained everything clearly and made sure I understood what he was doing.
As a vulnerable customer, his kindness meant far more than he probably realised. He made me feel listened to, supported and reassured at a time when I was feeling very distressed. He went above and beyond by ensuring I had the right equipment, providing me with a replacement hub, arranging an emergency landline phone and making sure I knew how to get help if I experienced any future problems. He also gave me his work contact details so that if I experienced any issues, he could contact his manager for further advice and support.
What meant the most to me was that Artur treated me with genuine kindness, dignity and respect. He made me feel that I mattered, and that I wasn't facing everything on my own. His compassion and professionalism made a difficult day much easier for me.
Artur is a real credit to Virgin Media, and I hope he receives the recognition he truly deserves. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks and let him know how much I appreciated everything he did for me.
Thank you again, Artur.

Wasted hours on the phone - crap service

The amount of hours I've spent on the phone trying to fix their crappy service is baffling. Although their front-line agents are usually lovely and very polite, their managers are lazy and NEVER call back when a complaint is escalated and I mean never. Services down, severely dropped speeds, outage in the area - it's just constant issues with this company yet I have no choice to use them as there is no BT line in the area so cable it's the only option I have living where I am. If internet is down for over a week they offer very little in compensation, usually takes me multiple calls to actually get some sort of result from them and even their engineers don't even turn up when one is booked, without notice. So forget taking a day off work to be available all day, they won't show and you'll be offered nothing for it. But you bet they will charge you that £25 if they do turn up and you're not in, based on their terms and conditions.

Overall: Awful company, crappy service, high price. Basically no benefit other than internet... sometimes.

Hi Ben,

We're sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback.

We understand how frustrating it must be to spend significant amounts of time contacting us to resolve recurring service issues. While we're pleased to hear that you've found our frontline advisers polite and helpful, we're sorry to hear that you've been left disappointed with the handling of escalated complaints and that promised callbacks have not met your expectations.

We're also sorry to hear about the repeated broadband problems you've described, including service outages, reduced speeds and ongoing network issues. We appreciate the impact this can have, particularly when you rely on your connection and have limited alternative options available in your area.

In addition, we understand how frustrating it is to arrange time around an engineer appointment, only for the visit not to take place as expected. We appreciate the inconvenience this can cause, especially when it affects work and other commitments.

We recognise that the combination of service issues, time spent seeking support and concerns around compensation has left you with a very negative impression of Virgin Media, and we're sorry that your experience has fallen short of expectations.

We'd like the opportunity to review the concerns you've raised and investigate this further. Please get in touch with us using one of the contact methods below:

If I could give zero I would.

If I could give zero I would.
Constant broadband outages - impossible to work from home.
App chat feature doesn't work.
When telephone on hold for lengthy periods - when eventually speak with someone - then put on hold again.
Locked into a contract where they are enabled to provide a useless service but I can not get out of it.
Almost on a weekly basis have problems with broadband and TV subscription not working.
Told outage in area, but why is it happening so regularly?
I've tried 3 times today to deal with issue - currently on hold on and off for 70 minutes after speaking with someone in 'customer care'.

Virgin Media Broadband is awful

Virgin Media Broadband is awful in many pockets of Surrey, and the £5 monthly O2 charge is ridiculously expensive. And when broadband goes down, it's generally for many hours - sometimes all day - and there's never an explanation as to why, nor an accurate forecast of how long it'll be down. Avoid.

It is deeply disappointing to see such…

It is deeply disappointing to see such a large company treating its customers so poorly, with no apparent action taken to protect them. We pay a significant amount, yet receive a very poor service. I have also been overcharged, and despite paying my bills on time, I am hit with a missing payment penalty every month, for a service that barely functions. There have been ongoing outages, and we are now told it has been two months without usable internet for work or even basic browsing, all for what they call 'fibre broadband.' What is really going on in this country? Private companies seem to be allowed to exploit consumers with impunity, and no one lifts a finger

1.5 Months' Notice, 10+ Hours on Hold, and Still Failed a Simple Home Move

If you are planning on moving home, do yourself a huge favor and cancel Virgin Media before you go. I gave them 1.5 months' notice to transfer my connection from Peterborough to Bristol. Both homes are wired for Virgin Media. This should have been a seamless digital switchover.
Instead, I was disconnected early, lied to about whether my old equipment would work, had my new router dispatched to my new address 160 miles away on my actual moving day, and was then falsely promised "next-day delivery" to resolve their own mistake.
After wasting more than 10 hours of my life trying to get this sorted, I had to spend another 2 hours battling through 4 different agents just to cancel my contract. The level of incompetence is staggering. Their customer service agents are trained to offer endless, empty "apologies and regrets"—none of which compensate me for the hours of personal and working time I have lost. A completely broken company that does not deserve to survive in a competitive market. Avoid at all costs.

Hi Bholanath,

We're sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to give significant notice of your home move, particularly when both properties were already served by Virgin Media, only to encounter a series of issues with the transfer of your services. We can appreciate why being disconnected earlier than expected, receiving conflicting information about your equipment, and experiencing delays with the delivery of your new router would have left you feeling disappointed and let down.

We're also sorry to hear about the amount of time you've had to spend trying to resolve these issues and subsequently arrange the cancellation of your services. We understand how frustrating it can be when you're moving home and expect a straightforward transfer process, only to encounter repeated difficulties and feel that your concerns are not being addressed effectively.

We recognise the impact that service disruptions can have, particularly when they affect both your personal and working life, and we're sorry that your experience has left you with such a negative impression of Virgin Media.

Worst Customer Service - STAY AWAY

Worst Customer Service - unable to think for themselves and refer to a prompter to reply. Web chat takes at least ten minutes before each reply, must have 15 chats going on at the same time. I have WiFi Max on my account and it took 4 advisors and 2.5 hours of my time to get a wifi pod sent out to me!
Can't think of a company with worse customer service than Virgin Media.

You probably read a lot of bad reviews…

You probably read a lot of bad reviews and think "It can't be that bad" but if you're going to listen to any, listen to this one if you want to save yourself trouble, terrible service, stress and basically being robbed.

I had Virgin Media broadband 1gig volt installed when I moved into my new house, straight away there were issues with speeds getting nowhere near the 1gig (wired was hitting max 600mbps) and bad WiFi speeds around the house. They tried to say the WiFi was due to the house walls and all's they could do was provide WiFi boosters (which they never sent out). In the end I bought an expensive router and wired that up to the hub which raised the speeds slightly. I could now get 90mbps upstairs rather than the 12mbps I was getting from the hub.

I carried on like this for a while until the broadband drops started happening. Constant disconnections. I contacted them and they said they had a fix scheduled and gave me a £20 credit. A couple of months later the drops started again, yet again I contacted them and they said they'd need to send an engineer. On the day of the visit the engineer contacted me to say the issue was their side, not mine and there was nothing he could do. I contacted Virgin again and they said they've scheduled a fix in 2 weeks time for the area. Obviously angry I told them 2 weeks with these constant disconnections is not good enough but they gave their usually scripted nonsense and that was that.

A couple more months after the 'fix' the drops were back, this time I complained and said I wanted to cancel my contract, I wasn't getting anywhere near the speeds in the contract and it was constantly disconnecting, they said I'd have to pay a £400 early exit fee, I explained that they were breaking the contract already but they refused to waive the fee. They tried to send an engineer out again which never happened and offered me a £5 credit, I told them I don't want a credit I want working broadband, they said they'd review the complaint and get back to me.

A few weeks of frustrated chasing lead to nothing, I spoke to them again raising a 4th official complaint and again they refused to let me cancel without paying the exit fee. I told them I'd be contacting CISAS to report them but they didn't seem to care.

I then contacted EE who pay up to £300 early cancellation fees and ended up signing up with them. Virgin then decided it was time to call me and spammed me with calls leaving voicemails saying that they wanted to discuss what they could do to stop me leaving. I eventually answered one of their calls and told them that they could offer their service for free and I'd decline. They also told me my cancellation fee was £280 so the £400 was a lie, likely to stop me going to another company who help pay fees.

My EE is not installed and I get over 400mbps on the WiFi in the same room where I was getting 14/15mbps with Virgin. I also get 922mbps wired on a 900mbps package. The difference in speed and stability is insane

So if you do t want to be robbed blind then heed this warning. Virgin Media are thieving scum.

Hi Rob,

We're sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to experience ongoing issues with your broadband speeds and connection stability, particularly after choosing a gigabit package and taking additional steps yourself to try and improve the service in your home. We also appreciate how disappointing it would be to experience repeated disconnections over an extended period and feel that the issues were not being resolved despite multiple contacts and complaints.

Absolutely Hopeless Company

Absolutely hopeless company. Rarely watch live TV but due to The World Cup I watched a few matches this week. The coverage was constantly interrupted by poor internet and often stopped working all together, this was on both my MacBook and an Amazon fire stick. Tried to contact them this morning and I couldn't get into my online account they said "sorry we can't sign you in just now" Pathetic! So I rang and waited 20 minutes and finally got through only to be told I will ring you back in five to ten minutes time. An hour later no call and let's face it that call is not going to happen. Seriously avoid this company.

If I could give them zero stars I…

If I could give them zero stars I would.
Their price hike in April was an absolute joke. From an initial contract of £26 pounds per month over time that climbed to £73 pounds per month. Not only was their download speed pathetic against Fibreoptic when I canceled in good time they still took an extra 73 at the end they shouldn't have.

They then claimed it would take 45 working days ( 9 weeks) to reimburse me. Can you imagine them being so tardy if you owed THEM cash? I understand they're haemmorraging customers and posting profit warnings- and is it any wonder???
Disgraceful disreputable despicable service. And do not get me started on their AI switchboard

Avoid like the plague and go fibre

They've just responded... this is the same day I read in The Guardian they've been fined the largest fine in history by Ofcom for their attempts to not let customers go.

Generally the wifi service is good

Generally the wifi service is good. I thought I'd upgrade my package and was offered a package with netflix. As I already have netflix via another provider, I contacted customer services via the chat bot to be quoted £55 per month.

Given the same speed is offered to new customers at less than my lower speed package, this was rather disappointing

We're pleased to hear that you've generally found your WiFi service to be good. However, we're sorry to hear that you were disappointed when discussing an upgrade to your package.

We understand your concerns regarding the pricing you were quoted, particularly when you already have access to Netflix through another provider and were looking at the options available to you. We also appreciate that seeing promotional offers available to new customers can sometimes be frustrating when comparing them to the packages available on an existing account.

We value your feedback and understand why this has left you feeling disappointed with your upgrade options.

If you'd like us to review your package and discuss the options available, please get in touch with us using one of the contact methods below:

Disgraceful company

Company is full of liars and diabolical customer services
Placed order for broadband on 15th of June, made them aware never had Virgin before. Promised instal on 11th of July as existing contract with another provider runs out on 15th.
Installation never happened. Got rescheduled to 21st, then rescheduled again to 28th and then got told 6-8 weeks! All within the space of 48h. Absolutely disgusting customer service! If you’re wondering if their low prices are worth it, they certain are not!

Time to leave virgin media

Time to leave virgin media, phoned up to express my concern about the switch over and the manager thought only his opinion matters before using manipulative gaslighting tactics tried to tell me that he knows more about my mental health than I do. Official complaint put straight in, managers are not doctors but them most certainly like to pretend they are which is incredibly unprofessional and dangerous.

Currently I cannot access my e-mails and various other facilities. When I try to contact Virgin Media I fail at the sign in action because I am allegedly connected with an o2 facility which I am not.I need help but there are no operatives at VM who offer support.I subscribe to VM on internet Sky TV and phone and get no customer care.
