Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our 15 year old cat, Ziggy, had a suspected broken leg late Sunday afternoon, so we were sent to Vets Now, Sutton. They were busy when we got there but the receptionist was very friendly. We were only waiting a short while when we were triaged by Ivo, who was a nurse. He was very gentle and caring with Ziggy but also very thorough. He explained everything clearly to us and gave Ziggy some pain relief. A few minutes later, the vet, Yasmin came in. She was so lovely. Really clear on what she was doing and what our options were. She also gave Ziggy lots of fuss. Our whole experience with them was so positive. I really felt they did everything they could for Ziggy. When we took Ziggy to our vet the following morning, all of the information had been sent across for them to pick up before we arrived. The whole experience was very reassuring, to Ziggy as well as us, especially during such an anxious time.

I’m glad they were there when we really needed them but it came at an eye watering cost.
We went to our vet’s following our visit to Vets Now and apparently our dog breed (cocker spaniel) is prone to dislocating their shoulder which didn’t appear to be common knowledge with the vets on duty. Thankfully they popped it back in.
We were nearly persuaded to have a further costly scan.
However, I have to say that the vets were brilliant and we were kept informed throughout.
Facilities & parking on this site are great.
I’m sure the costs are to do with the insurance culture.

It's a money problem. The staff were delightful and the vet was lovely and very professional, but this market is very wrong when it costs 30% more for a cat to be examined for cystitis than it does for a human to have an MRI scan with a radiographers report.

AVOID***
I took my guinea pig in at 11.30pm Monday night as she was very ill they took her off me for an hour and when they returned they said they couldn't see anything worrying they had given her a quick ultrasound and gave her antibiotics, pain mens and build up food. £300 later and a very stroppy man at reception took payment....!!
The next day she was worse took her to my own vets and she had to be put to sleep as my vet said she had a huge mass in her tummy ..!!!
HOW WAS THIS MISSED, why was i given medication she didnt need...
And why has no one responded to my emails?
AVOID THIS VETS...
**UPDATE.

Reggie our 2yr old Cockapoo was injured on is morning run. We contacted Vet Now and they were amazing. They were upfront about the out of hours charge but this wasn’t an issue, out Pet Plan insurance is in place. The Nurse welcomed us with a warm reassuring greeting and calmed the situation with his professionalism. The vet arrived and Reggie’s injury was assessed. They transferred us to another practice for the surgery required. They were the first to see Reggie and their help not only calmed our fears but put us on the journey to getting our pet better. He is now at home and getting TLC. Thank you Pet Now.
