Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Everyone was so helpful and kind, including the vet, vetinary nurse, reception staff. It made our wait far less sressful. We were kept informed every step of the process.
What would be really useful is a Wi-Fi code for guests so that pet insurance documents can be accessed easily.

the vet and staff on duty were true professionals in treating my dog in the out of hours services at Vets Now in Newport but the cost of £736 for removing a stuck bone in her mouth was pretty astronomical !! but I can't fault their care

All staff were very friendly and courteous at all times a little expensive but worth it for peace of mind helpful with insurance claims as well

Staff were lovely - particularly lady on reception who gave us updates regularly. Have only given 4 stars as the consultation cost was exorbitant!

From annitial phone call right through my dogs care couldn’t fault a thing , staff were kind, considerate and compassionate! There was one lady at reception that stood out to me , her name was possibly jenny (American accent possibly) she came over and explained on more than one occasion why the long wait and constantly reassured me . I wish I lived closer to Langston to use these vets regularly ! Thankyou everyone!!

Accessing the service was very easy and the staff most helpful. The vet who examined our pet was very thourough and professional and could have done more, or explained the situation better. Very pleased with the service.

Lovely staff. Lots of information given at every stage and really cared about our cat. Also sorted out the insurance for us.

Staff were professional, helpful and guided us well throughout. Regular updates provided throughout and all options discussed and covered ensuring our pooch could come home for Christmas despite having major surgery. Super speedy and efficient. From us arriving at the vets, problem diagnosed, operated on and back home despite feeling sorry for himself in less than 24 hours! Guided us through insurance process having never needed it before. Felt pooch was in safe hands

Terrible service from finance a customer service team
Back in August my cat unfortunately had to have a blood transfusion, and we had to take our cats down. The team at the vets did their part and he was moved to another vets.
He passed away in august at the other vets. After insurance was sorted we called asked for any outstanding payment they informed us that there was none. Then 3 months later sent a letter stating final warning of outstanding payment. No other letters or calls to say, just nice letter headed final notice.
When called they said they put some charges on another pet and wasn’t linked up ? Not sure how they did this as they themselves said all would be claimed off the one cat. They then said they would sort this through insurance and call back with any outstanding payments. Received nothing and the out standing was amount due back to myself from the deposit I payed back in August when my pet was taken into them. Month later sent another letter final warning of an another made up amount of money at end of December.
Terrible service, would not send your pet there if you want incompetence after the treatment. And for them to try and get more money from you after the event when you’re grieving.

Had to attend this vets out of hours as all the vets in our area hand off to them overnight.
They charge over £300 just for visiting. I know they will claim it’s more expensive to run an out of hours vets but according to multiple sources they make significant profits. It’s praying on vulnerable people who can’t realistically do anything about it.

Fantastic service. The vets and the staff were great and sorted a severe reaction to a bee sting on my puppy's face which was extremely swollen! The only niggle was the admin fee for the insurance and the time it took for vets now to get back to the insurance company with details! Other than that they were great and saw us immediately!

Vets now, what can I say? They were tremendously brilliant. I brought my beautiful doggie, Hollie in due to our usual vets not having a vet on site. I'm glad we did, they were thorough, efficient, kind, caring, patient, professional and really knew what they were talking about, when over the few months of backing and foring to our vets with our baby as she was unwell, we didn't know how bad until we came here. Within half hour we knew why. Unfortunately she had a cancerous mass and it was not the outcome we wanted of course and we were mortified but at least we knew what and why and the next steps so our girl wasn't suffering. Vets now gave us the best advice, treatment plan and End of life plan but there wasn't many options for Hollie at this point, Hollie needed to rest. We took Hollie home that day to say goodbye to her siblings before we brought her back to rest. The vets gave her adequate pain relief so she could enjoy her last moments with her family, Hollie decided she would go to sleep at home instead she went peacefully and not in pain, we rung and updated them and they were fab and said to bring her down and they would be waiting. Waiting they were! We pulled up and they ran out to us in the carpark, we obviously were in bits holding our baby, they gave us all the time in the world whilst reassuring us we did all we could, then the lovely vets carried her in to a room for us, then said take as long as we needed in a consultation room (which they didn't need to, they could of said 20 mins we need the room!) with Hollie to say goodbye and figure out what would like for her. They brought us tea and coffee, knocked the door if they needed to come in. Asked us our preferences to lay her to rest, were not pushy in any way and said we could take all day if we wanted!! They trimmed some fur from her Mane to treasure, imprinted her paw, said they would keep her blanket and her teddy with her throughout and that she would never be alone until she was picked up to be cremated. They were so thoughtful and fantastic. They cried laughed and mourned with us. True animal lovers. Poor guys had to deal with us mess of humans that day and we were utter messes! Sarah Jayne was one of the lovely people and she has dealt with us since hollies passing and has remembered us, she was brilliant but they all were. Thankyou for everything, we lost our baby girl which is the worst feeling in the world but thankyou for making it easier for her and us, you are in the right jobs and should be commended. You know what you are doing. For sure. Thankyou. Time to get my boys registered with you, if we can!! Will always recommend.
