SCAM!

Today is the 21st Nov. I ordered a clock from this mob 26th Sep. I too didn't read the reviews. (Stupid). I have internet shopped for over 10 Years and have NEVER encountered such an appalling experience. I have now sent my 5th email asking for my money back. They appear to be thieves. I have given them until the end of the day to confirm my refund. If they give me some dribble about "we are checking" etc, I intend to do everything I can to shut this scam outfit down. There are laws protecting people from this type of practice and I will investigate and make it my soul purpose to see they can no longer trade. Grrrrrrrr. Very angry

BEWARE!!!

I wish I had read these reviews before ordering from this company. However, I have now reported them to Trading Standards and Citizens Advice. I will take this all the way if I have to and would advise you to do the same. It's the only way to stop this.

Awful

Does not in my opinion even reflect the true violation this company have put honest buying customers through. I Purchased a Henry Vaccum Cleaner for £89.99 three months ago, received nothing and when I tried to contact the seller via the contact details provided it was a useless automated system. I have never been so disappointed and angry in all the years I have done internet shopping. This supplier was suggested by Google also to add to the scandal. DO NOT USE this website.

DO NOT BUY FROM THE VARIETY STORE

Still waiting for GHD straighteners costing £79.
Email stating dispatched the day after I ordered, 30/08/2015.
Not received - unable to contact via phone or email.
Email asking me to review product on 07/09/2015 - reviewed stating not received - still no contact or straighteners.
RUBBISH wish I had looked them up on here before buying.

Item not arrived after 4 weeks

I ordered GHD straighteners from this website a month ago for £78. I received an email a few days later stating that the item had been shipped, but I have still not received it. There is an option to track the item, but the link doesn't work, and when I have called and emailed I have not received any response at all. Not sure what to do next now really. I will try my bank for a refund, and try watchdog/trading standards.

Fake Company

My partner ordered a set of GHD Hair Stylers (£80) from this 'company' nearly a month ago. We received an email confirming despatch the next day, but a week later it still hadn't arrived. We have emailed and phoned them but got no response, multiple times, the telephone just goes straight to an answer machine.

Save yourself some money and stress, do not order from the variety store as the only variety you'll get is nothing for your hard earned cash!!

I'll be reporting this to Trading Standards.

DO NOT TRUST

I purchased hair straighteners for my sisters birthday a few weeks ago. Supposedly the item was shipped the following day. Since then I have had no further update, the gift has not arrived, the company will not respond to email and their phone line now seems to be down. It all seems to have been a massive scam. Now have the joy of trying to get my money back. Hopefully the police catch up with these people and put them away. Lets just hope we are all covered and that they have not got away with everyones money!

The Vanishingstore Company

Too late I saw all the reviews on TrustPilot, otherwise I would never Have bought from this company. Ordered a Henry vacuum cleaner which hasn't turned up. No means of contacting the company , they just take your money and disappear. Now I have the hassle to get my money back in 30 days through the credit card company. And I can't clean the house until I can buy a vacuum cleaner somewhere else! Aarrgghh!!

No delivery of item - payment taken.

Purchased GHD hair straighteners as a birthday present on the 27 August. Payment taken 28 August but no delivery and no response to emails/phone calls. The phone line is just a voice mail service.

I hope I'm wrong about this company but it seems to be a scam. I'll be reporting them to the financial ombudsman if nothing happens in the next day.

Can't get hold of The Variety Store

I am trying to get hold of the Variety Store on 0207 1646293 there is never an answer! All I need the Variety Store to do is to raise a complaint with DPD regarding a problem with delivery for order 10010135 so that I can get the Police involved.
No answer to email just voicemail on the phone and never a call back RUBBISH

Scum

Ordered ghd hair Straighteners with free 3-5 day delivery 11 days ago, have emailed them and tried calling them as apparently this receives the "fastest response" from them, had no reply to emails and just a machine telling me the Variety store are not available, how is this company still allowed to do business?
Would love any alternative contact numbers to the one on the website if anyone's got any

BAD COP, GOOD COP

Goods had not arrived and company did not answer phone calls or emails. After giving a bad TRUST PILOT review the item arrived the same evening
by special delivery.

Avoid like the plague!

Money taken out immediately...but goods never materialised.....impossible to get thro on phone...first batch of emails finally got a response offloading me to the stockist who were waiting for another batch...when they failed to contact me about new stock I phone the stockist again only to be told that they would no longer deal with variety!,,Another batch of emails and phone calls to variety all met with silence and when I made contact with the business centre where they are situated I was told they were probably in liquidation...
Claimed money back on debit card thro chargeback via bank...the latter were more than helpful

Silence of the Tomb to customer's queries.

I've ordered and paid for in full 2 Zen Chairs on 28th July. On website it said 3-5 weeks delivery. Since 14 days I have now sent emails, online chat messages, called the 0800 number! NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. TODAY I CHECKED WITH COMPANIES HOUSE WHETHER THIS COMPANY IS STILL TRADING. Yes, they are. I wonder if the company Director [Name] , realises how customers are treated and more importantly, the apalling silence and zero response to my queries on an update on my delivery. I have instructed my bank to claim for non delivery of goods. I would rather buy somewhere else for more money and better customer service.

Wrong item, failed to exchange, uncontactable

Put it this way, I'm about to involve trading standards and am checking consumer law. Wrong item delivered, took forever to hear back from them, 'computer says no' young lad and no answer on the phone number or emails, finally to add insult to injury they failed to collect the item or make any contact. This shambles of a company had better put their insurers on notice. And I am very happy to provide proof of purchase, just in case anyone wants it.

Awful and liars

Ordered garden furniture set 3 days ago. Money was taken out of my account same day. Received a prompt email the next day advising the product was out of stock until next summer. Offered a bigger alternative. I replied asking for a link to alternative set as I couldn't find it on their website and whether they would honour it at the lower price. No reply. Called the next day and spoke to a lady who couldn't find the set. She spoke to the supplier who then advised this product was also out of stock. She asked me if I wanted a refund I said yes and queried why they would take the money if the products don't exist. She couldn't answer and said sorry. She then said I had to email them if I wanted a refund. What a farce they took my money and they didn't have a product to send me. I complained and they said they would sort the refund. I asked for the money the same day and I was told that there was a backlog of refunds and it would take a few days. No wonder there is a backlog of refunds if this is what they call service. Keeping an eye on my account and if I don't receive my refund by next Monday I'm contacting my credit card company. This company is a joke and I wish if read the reviews before ordering.

Absolutely appalling - avoid!

We order a modular rattan sofa set mid-July and received the wrong item 2 weeks later (a 2 piece sofa set with a footstool). I was told I couldn't speak to anyone in customer service, it's all done by email. After over 2 weeks of chasing a date was finally arranged for the furniture to be collected. I waited in all day as advised and nobody showed up. So 2 1/2 weeks on we still have the furniture squeezed into our lounge. Avoid this company at all costs!

Terrible

I placed my order in May 2014 for furniture on a 5-8 week delivery period. After hearing nothing, I phoned and asked about the position of my order. I was told by customer services they would check and come back to me. I heard nothing. I phoned again. Then I was told sorry that no-one had contacted me but in fact my order was ready. We arranged a date and I asked for written/email confirmation which I was told would be forthcoming. Nothing. I then phoned the day before having heard nothing and was reassured my order was all set for the following day. I took the day off and waited in all day. My order failed to arrive.

I have since spent an inordinate amount of time sending emails which are just ignored or speaking with various people who are either unable to do anything or tell me something which then fails to happen. I have finally received some of my money back but the company is refusing to refund it all.

Make your own mind up as to whether you risk your own money.
