I placed an order for various fabric to…

I placed an order for various fabric to fill an order. First time using them. I've chased the order by email as they don't have a phone number. 10 days later it arrived only to find one item of fabric is missing from the package despite being on the dispatch label. Totally disappointed and the set back in time due to this is stressful. Being unable to get a response when things go wrong is poor in this day and age. Totally unacceptable. If I could give 0 star rating I would.

Customer service was excellent

Ordered some blackout material to make some blinds with. Arrived in time stated in a packet that was able to fit through the letterbox. Unfortunately some part of the material had some damage to it which meant I couldn’t complete all my project in one go, but the response from them was swift, kindly and resolved quickly. Thank you

SCAM

SCAM. Received sample so placed an order on 28/11/25. Shipping number not working. 2 emails totally ignored. Chased by phone - fobbed off by an extremely rude man and basically told there was nothing they could do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE RUDE AND DISHONEST

Great service at great prices

I have used this company before and on all occasions material is exactly as advertised at a great price. Dispatch is very quick too by the company and well packaged, and appreciate they dont have control on the carriers. When i need fabrics i would always choose UK Fabrics online first.

Black stains on cream-coloured fabric

I have ordered fabrics several times from this company and have always been satisfied. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. I ordered 15 meters of light-coloured (cream) chenille, but the fabric arrived with black stains appearing every 1.5 meters. This made it extremely difficult to use for upholstering large cushions.

I contacted the company and provided photos of the issue, and they have now returned £9.99 of the £150 order.

Firstly we would like to apologize for the damage in the fabric and any inconvenience this may have caused.

We have replied to all of your emails regarding the damage, informing that 2 close up pictures of small damages is an insufficient proof to cover the damage extent you are saying the fabric had as it shows less than a meter being damaged, which we have refunded - in order to refund the full amount we need to see the full extent of the damage.

Additionally, you informed us that you have thrown away the damaged fabric before the issue was resolved and before you could send us a proof of the full extent of the damage, for this reason we are only able to issue a refund based on the proof we have received as per our Terms and Conditions.

​Again, please accept our apologies for the stains near the salvage of the fabric.

Presumably they’ve gone broke

Edited from 1 star to 4 stars. Once I’d sent a message on their website I received an email the next working day and another piece of fabric was shipped that day and received the next working day, quality and size as expected. Always good to know the complaints procedure works when necessary!

I ordered fabric, width 1.5m x 2m, the piece I received was damaged, the cut was totally wonky, and it was more than half a metre short. Tried to get contact details from their website as none on the email confirmation but their website won’t load.

Quick delivery, great quality, generous measuring

I ordered on 29th Nov and received on the 1st Dec. The quality of the fabric is good and the colour true to the image on the website. They were very generous with the measuring as I ordered 2 metres of each fabric and both had 40cm over. It was necessary on one of the pieces as it wasn't a very straight cut, but I've cut it even and it's still over. I'm pleased as it was going to be tight for the seam allowance, but I didn't want to order another metre for the sake of 10cm. I will definitely use this company again.

Very poor customer service

This company is very good at taking orders but not so great when it comes to delivering them and dealing with problems. My order didn't arrive. I then find out that there's no phone number. You have to post one of those silly web forms or send an email to a catch all, anonymous inbox. There is also no tracking information from the courier. I'm fed up of ordering from companies that mess up your order and won't pick up the phone or won't or can't sort it out.

RESPONSE : Listening to your customers is clearly not a strong point. Yes, the package did arrive. No, there was no traking info. What really stinks is your customer service and lack of communication. Just publish a phone number and pick up the bloody phone. Its easy.

I'm sorry to hear you've had a disappointing experience.

You placed this order on Friday 25th October, and the shipping method you selected did say that it would be 1 working day for dispatch, and 2 working days for delivery.

The package was dispatched on Monday October 28th (the following working day) on the 2 day service. The package is now showing as 'delivered' at 2.30pm today (Wednesday). So it has actually been delivered on the promised delivery timetable.

If you've not received the parcel, please contact us and we will of course follow up with the courier.

I'm sorry to hear you did not receive the tracking email - have you checked if it's gone to your spam folder or anything?

You emailled earlier today, and my colleague replied to you within 10 minutes asking for your order number. Again, perhaps this email went to your spam folder.

Hopefully you will find the parcel when you get home and all will be resolved, otherwise please do get in contact with us.

Poor delivery timescale.

Hi, ordered from here on the 13th August. It’s now the 21st and still no fabric. Apparently it’s due today. So I’d just like to make people aware do not take notice of the 1 day processing and 2 day delivery info on their site. We had arranged (and gave the fabric a week to arrive) for someone to do the recovering today. Obviously that’s now not going to happen. Not thrilled with this as we now have to find a date again to suit both.
Have mailed to company and the communication has been good. Doesn’t make up for the lack of fabric and timescales that are way out of what was promised. If you are ordering from
here I’d suggest giving two weeks and not the 3 days!! Hoping the fabric lives up to the description now.

Looking at the tracking I can see that we dispatched your parcel on time (the order was ordered on the 13th of August and dispatched on the 14th of August). Whilst most of our customers get their parcels on time, unfortunately there is not much we are able to do when carriers have delays while the parcel is in transit, which is what happened with your parcel (delays are mentioned in 'Shipping Information' section on our website). I can see on the tracking that the driver is not far from your location, so your parcel will be delivered shortly, and if there are any issues once the parcel is received - please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to help.

Bought 600 denier pvc backed waterproof

Bought 600 denier pvc backed waterproof fabric to make covers for parasol, tables and fire pit. This is my second purchase; I was not so pleased with the first as the edges of the fabric were not trimmed making cutting accurately difficult the second was fine. I was amazed at how easy it was to machine sew. My old Singer coped easily with 4 layers and was coaxed to sew 6 layers. I used a straight edge and Stanley knife to cut and it was easy.

Resolution of an issue with stock change

Placed an order for materials and were happy with the result so ordered a further batch of the same.

Unfortunately, the supply had changed and the material differed substantially. Contacted UK Fabrics and not only did they process the return but also kept a file note and advised when the correct material returned to stock.

In my opinion, one should judge a company on how they deal with things that go wrong, going right is the easier path, in this they were exemplary

Great quality materials

Bought materials for upholstery and was a bit apprehensive of buying online.

The quality was however very good, lovely thick materials and strong colours.

Marine blue plush velvet

The fabric arrived folded instead of rolled (4m) so as it’s plush velvet it’s very creased even after hanging for nearly a week, the quality , price and fabric itself is great, just annoying that it was so creased .
