Booked hotel through Trivago. Screenshotted the correct booking confirmation BUT then emails came through from Algotels for a hotel more than 30 miles away. Have been back and forth with Algotels who... See more

Booked a one night stay at a hotel only…
Booked a one night stay at a hotel only to find the main photo of the establishment was not the hotel I had booked but another hotel. Despite being mis-sold we are being refused a refund. Will not be using Trivago again.
Scam company
Scam company! Yet again been let down by this firm, not once had a successful booking , its always the same ,they give you a good price, take you to a site to make the booking , who then just farms all your contact details/phone number etc .Just to be told the room has gone then takes you to another page where the price is the maximum price charged the the hotel anyway .
Booking cancelled
Booking cancelled, wasted ages on the phone trying to rebook - failed and then price increased by 25% They then twice pushed my call to a nonexistent customer care line, press 1 for sales 2 for booking and no option for customer care!
Left without affordable accommodation for an urgent lengthy trip at last minute!
Will happily supply booking ref.
Shocking service listing was error and no comeback
Shocking, booked through them listing all looked good until I arrived at hotel. The site they used Algotels their 'partner' had made an error with the listing. Everything including pictures etc were of the hotel is thought i was booking but it wasn't. It was a hotel in another county in the uk. Ive spend the last 3 months trying to get my money back but with no success or accountability. Terrible experience. Do not use.
False advertising
False advertising!
Advert should be banned.
Have checked Trivago many many times they are always way more expensive than other websites or going direct.
Booking.com is a good website.
Trivago is nonsense to be polite.
Booked a hotel in Liverpool
Booked a hotel in Liverpool, received no confirmation email which I forgot about after a day or 2, went back to trivago the day before I was due to stay to get this email , no response, went on website to get my booking number through their help and support method still no email for any of this with my booking number, tried numerous of times still no response. Luckily remembered name of hotel and rang them and they had my reservation. As a frequent traveller I will never use trivago again, shocking customer service.
Avoid Trivago - do not trust the website
I decided to use Trivago for the first time to plan a stay as a result of being influenced by the slick TV adverts featuring well know celebrities. I needed quiet and relaxing 'child free' accommodation on the island of Corfu for 6 nights for myself and the website search had a great offer at the top of the search results for a double room in an adult only 4 star hotel. What was even more attractive was that I could pay in full to get the price on screen but could cancel for a full refund by 9th September. I went ahead and made the reservation and paid by credit card. The on-screen confirmation followed and detailed the cost of my stay, room type and images of the hotel which I had already browsed. The confirmation email quickly followed, however the accommodation voucher was not for my 4 star hotel but for a basic one star studio apartment on the busy Kavos 'strip' and the reviews of the property confirmed it was suitable for lively noisy young people and not the 4 star experience I was expecting! I telephoned customer services and was advised by a voice recording that there was an extremely long queue to speak to an agent, but that my phone number matched my booking reference (which was read back to me ) and an agent would ring me back. I am sill waiting for the agent to call me. I will be cancelling for a full refund which I hope will be refunded immediately. Avoid Trivago at all costs.
Disgraceful and cannot be trusted
Disgraceful and cannot be trusted. Tried booking after missing connecting flight. Reported rooms available for that evening and completed booking, however the dates appeared to get changed during the booking to 3 weeks later. Only noted after we got to the hotel and advised they had no rooms. How? Ask the company who shouldnt advertise as available. Cancel not a chance its in the booking. Absolute joke and bunch of thieves. Stay with what you know and who you trust. If I could give no stars I would.
I was recently booked into a Hotel
I was recently booked into a Hotel, my secretary booked it through Trivago, NEVER AGAIN. I had a bad room, wont go into raptures, but I travel a lot in my job, so I like comfort when away from home, but a nice Holtel Manager told me the Secret, Most Hotels have a tier system A For Business, Refurb or Exec) B For Visitors, C For Trivago. rooms tend to be Old, that no one wants or will pay for. DONT GET STUNG to upgrade its a SCAM.
Got a case number because you carn't…
Got a case number because you carn't ring them no response after numerous atemepts
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. When i had an issue with my booking I had to keep chasing them, it created unnecessary stress and anxiety. It aso cost me money because they never got back to me in time. Terrible experience!
Do not trust this platform
Do not trust this platform. I used the Trivago website to book a room at the Coral Dreams hotel. I completed the entire checkout process directly within Trivago’s own interface, believing I was booking the exact property advertised on my screen.Instead, Trivago secretly routed my payment and booking data to a third-party partner (TravelUp), who immediately issued a confirmation voucher for a completely different, inferior, and worse-rated property called Paraiso Del Sol Apartments.
When I contacted customer service to fix this clear case of false advertising and breach of contract, Trivago claimed that because they are "just a search engine" and passed my money to TravelUp, they have zero responsibility to fix the mistake, even though the entire transaction happened on their platform.
Avoid Trivago at all costs. Book directly with the hotel websites, or use a platform that actually takes responsibility for the hotels they sell you.
Cancelled my reservation without me telling them to
Terrible got to my hotel and they told me Trivago had cancelled the booking which I assure you I did not do and they showed me an email where Trivago had asked him to cancel but there was no reason or anything given, then I phoned up to try and resolve not much help really cuz when they finally did answer they said someone else will phone you back in an hour and that never happened, now currently in the process of emailing them but trying to get a refund as I just had to book with the hotel on the day
Prices don't match
The prices shown on the search page rarely matched what I actually had to pay at checkout. The filters aren't very accurate either. Booking took almost an hour to confirm.
AVOID!!
My husband booked Beach Walk Hotel in Newquay. This hotel does NOT EXIST. It’s in Dubai. Avoid Avoid Avoid Trivago as it’s full of scam hotels. We now can’t get our money back. How is this website even legal as they don’t take any accountability for scams!!
hotel comparison debacle
I looked to compare price for a hotel in Boddelwydan North Wales, there comparison came back for a hotel in Warwick. Hundreds of miles away
Booked with trivago but found room £200 cheaper. Trivago s best price guarantee means nothing
I did check trivago and booked with a Suffolk spa hotel £173 cheaper than booking.com. The next day I found another website £200 cheaper than algotels , £373 cheaper than original website . Was devastated . I contacted trivago anbout best price guarantee. They did nothing. Washed their hands of it and passed me onto algotels who said they’d look into it but did nothing. Won’t do it again
Appalling booking system
Appalling booking system. Tried to book took me to a site booking directly with their trusted partner Algotels - a fully owned subsidiary of the Trivago N.V.
Got an error message to call +1 (871) 921-3348. The number is unavailable. Avoid Trivago and Algotels. Too many bad reviews.
No confirmation email for 3 hours, then cancellation at 1am
I booked a hotel room. The reception had no record of my booking. After 3 hours waiting for the confirmation to arrive, during which time I repeatedly emailed and called Trivago, they said the booking was not successful and refunded my money. By this time it was 1am and I had no option but to book a room at the walk-in price, over twice the amount Trivago had offered. I feel let down and duped by Trivago. I will never use them again.
Forcing me to create an account to view…
Forcing me to create an account to view quotes!
Why have Trivago changed the way the app works? It’s awful. No more quick quotes.
I am now using an alternative search tool.
