Caught them out a few times now with advertising false pricing, they will advertise a supplier who can sell you at room at say £50 but when you click its jumped to £55. Not on every transaction mind... See more

Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. Two days, automated email responses, mixed messages on the phone, link sent to change a booking which did not work. I will never use again!
This is now the second time I have…
This is now the second time I have tried to book through Trivago Deals, and on both occasions Trivago has taken my payment, only to cancel the reservation afterwards due to a supposed “processing issue.”
I find it very frustrating that deals are being advertised which apparently cannot actually be confirmed. Why is payment being taken from customers before Trivago has confirmed that the deal is live and the hotel reservation can be honoured?
I have used numerous other hotel booking websites and have never experienced the same issue twice. Unfortunately, after two failed bookings and having my money taken on both occasions, I have completely lost confidence in Trivago Deals and will not be using the service again.
Appalling customer service, still not resolved!!
Appalling service – Trivago’s booking error is costing us an extra £1,000!
I booked through Trivago for the first time, and everything seemed fine until Trivago phoned me to confirm my booking. That’s when I discovered they had booked us into the 4-star sister hotel instead of the 5-star hotel we had specifically booked!
All our booking confirmations and accommodation vouchers clearly state the 5-star hotel we chose. I have since contacted the hotel directly, and they have confirmed that Trivago has booked us into the 4-star hotel instead.
Despite this being a clear booking error, Trivago is now expecting us to pay an additional £1,000 to stay at the 5-star hotel we originally booked!
How can this possibly be acceptable? We have documentary evidence confirming the hotel we booked, and the hotel itself has verified that Trivago made the booking for the wrong property. Yet, instead of putting their mistake right, we are being asked to pay more money to get what we originally booked in the first place.
I have now spent two months trying to get this resolved, and the customer service has been absolutely horrendous. Two months of chasing, frustration and stress, with no satisfactory resolution.
This was my first time booking through Trivago, and it will certainly make me think twice about ever using them again. We trusted their service, only to be left dealing with their booking error and potentially facing an extra £1,000 because of it.
Think twice before booking through Trivago. If something goes wrong, you could find yourself spending months trying to resolve their mistake, with an extra bill of £1,000 hanging over you for the hotel you actually booked.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service and an unacceptable way to treat customers.
Hotel booking and payments
Recently, my lady friend
Booked good hotels, for events in Bath and Liverpool.
Prices not bad.
However, I am surprised that trivago seems to ask full cost well ahead of our actual arrival dates.
One is in two weeks time. The other is for December!?
Very odd service.
I have never been asked for full cost of any hotel to be paid in full ahead of arrival date.
Next time I will check at the hotels themselves for good deal.
Interesting that this detail does not show in the t v ads.

I used Trivago for a stay in London recently.
I found the site easy to navigate and it had the best price of all (a very good price). All went very well, and I'll definitely use them again!
Poor wouldn't recommend
Copthorne Hotel Manchester Salford Quays, M503SN
Arrived at the hotel checked in at 2pm to find out the room i booked (x2 double beds in room) which i paid extra for isn't something they offer and I need to go through my booking company as this is miss sold information on a 3rd party website,
So we had x2 single beds in the room....
Room was dirty, mould, no towels or toiler roll in the room, I had to request this,
Management told us there wasn't any other room available so either stay or look for another hotel but a redund will need to be through Trivago.
So lets see what Trivago replies with in the email.
Don’t book through trivago
Used trivago to try and book a room. After an hour of waiting and not receiving a confirmation, I used the site help option and submitted a help request. I only got automated email responses. Over the next hour, I responded to the automated emails requesting help because we were only about 1.5 hours from the hotel. After two hours without a confirmation I called. After being on hold for around 30 minutes, and listening to their annoying hold music, I finally was able to talk to someone. They weren’t able to immediately help and stated they would expedite and it would take 15 to 30 minutes. After about 30 minutes received an email that the booking couldn’t be completed and that I wasn’t charged. I then used booking.com to make the reservation and got a confirmation email immediately. Trivago isn’t very customer friendly and I don’t recommend using them to book a hotel.
Additional, even though I did not receive a confirmation email after 2 hours of waiting, canceling would have forfeited payment since my bookings was non refundable.

Worst website ever
Worst website ever, they didn't help out at all with my issue, useless to be honest and money hungry people.

Just came back from a 2 week holiday at the lagoon hotel hisaronu never again! Lovely little hotel but the staff are the most unfriendly arrogant people we’ve ever met! If your not staying in hotel drinking there beer or eating there food they don’t want to know! My daughter & granddaughter ordered toasties one day the sides of the bread were full of mould when my daughter said something they just took away no apologies or nothing absolute joke. One thing i can say the cleaners were lovely spotless everyday well done.
Just booked a hotel room
Just booked a hotel room. Initially price shown for an excutuve studio ap Park Plaza was £235.00 but when tried to book it, it changed it to a standard studio with a price tag of £233.00 which initially was £224.00. I booked it anyway but later found that the booking was actually through another company and I could have booked it directly with them for £33.00 less.
How I wish I had read these reviews before booking with Trivago. First and last ever.
I’m now worried if the booking will actually be confirmed.
Stayed at the Middleton in Blackpool
Stayed at the Middleton in Blackpool. Would recommend staying here. Room was good clean with a good shower and comfortable beds. Breakfast was as a breakfast should be and arrived very hot. 10/10 Tina. Roy is a good host and very helpful always asking if we needed anything and brought extra toast and juice at breakfast. We go to Blackpool quite often and will stay here from now on.
Breach of pricing transparency laws
I recently booked through Trivago (thankfully free cancellation!!) but I need to warn others that may be thinking of booking through this company.
There are hidden costs! When they say 'This is the total amount you will pay for your stay' that is not 'the total amount you will pay for your stay'. Always look further in the small print before booking. Otherwise you will be stuck with a hefty bill when you arrive to check in. Personally I won't be booking with them again as I can't trust them.
Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service – incorrect booking and completely inadequate resolution
I booked a king-size room with breakfast through Trivago for our stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Dundee. We specifically chose and paid for a larger room because we needed the extra space, particularly for my husband.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a much smaller double room. We immediately contacted reception, who confirmed that their system showed a double room had been booked. However, when we showed them our booking confirmation from Trivago, it clearly stated that we had booked a king-size room.
The hotel confirmed that they could not resolve the issue and advised us to take it up with Trivago. What followed was weeks of frustrating communication and very poor customer service.
It took around four weeks for Trivago to finally respond with a resolution — a £7.76 refund. Quite frankly, this was insulting given the circumstances.
The issue was never about the difference in price. The room we booked was larger for a reason. We deliberately selected a king-size room to meet our needs, and because of an apparent error with Trivago’s booking, we did not receive what we had actually booked. My husband consequently had to sleep awkwardly because we were given a smaller room than the one we had paid for.
What has been most disappointing is not only the booking error itself, but the complete lack of urgency, communication and understanding from Trivago when trying to resolve it. When a problem is caused by your booking system, I would expect you to take responsibility and provide a reasonable resolution.
Unfortunately, this experience has completely put me off using Trivago again. I will certainly be recommending that friends and family think twice before booking through them.
Trivago, Algotels & OYO Marina Sandown
Booked the OYO Marina in Sandown Isle of Wight for the August Bank Holiday through their sister site Algotels 27/06/2026 for £180.00. Arrived at the hotel to check in to be told that the hotel wasn't open for business & hadn't been for weeks!!!!. Luckily the manager got us a room at the hotel next door but I had to pay an extra £80.00 for the same duration of stay. I was emailing constantly Algotels all through my stay & then for 3 weeks after for a refund & the difference I had to pay to stay at the other hotel. They came back to me & offered me a reimbursement of £55.01 for a £180.00 stay that I didn't use!!!. I contacted the manager at the OYO Marina & he fired them an email telling them to refund the full amount. Algotels would only offer a credit for the £80.00 difference which I then informed them that I'm never likely to use them ever again. I eventually received a refund of £180.00 on the 9th September. The stress & time wasted trying to sort this was unbelievable. I have read on other reviews of people not getting a refund at all so I think I've been lucky. DO NOT USE TRIVAGO OR ALGOTELS.
DO NOT USE TRIVAGO
Was due to arrive at the hotel I had booked on Sun 6th September then on Saturday 5th I received an email to say that my hotel was overbooked for the first 3 days!!!
Tried to speak to someone eventually got through and the usual message someone will call you back and they never did!! Will never use this company again its not even a 1 star rating would give a negative if it had been available
My booking was cancelled. WASTE OF TIME
My booking was cancelled. No one could tell me why. I then received an email apologising and offering a 5% discount if I rebooked. No discount- just gave me the runaround and wasted my time. And the second booking was even
more expensive!
I wish I'd read the reviews instead of thinking of their TV ad.
First and last time I'll use Trivago.
Since this is the first review I have…
Since this is the first review I have ever written you can tell what a disappointing experience this company provided. I booked a hotel from trivagodealsuk. They took the money from my card and have not contacted me with a booking number (or anything for that matter). When you try to contact them it is an automated voice that asks for your booking number, or else an automated voice that says 'we have your booking number and we will contact you')...they don't. Strangely enough if you are a new customer looking to book something you get put straight through to a customer help advisor.
I've been on their portal email and asked for assistance four times....no reply.
In the end I was forced to ring the hotel in Spain to see if they have a booking at all?
As I say this is the first time in my life I've complained of customer service (British people tend not to) I can honestly say I would never use Trivago again or recommend them to anyone.
The worse experience I have ever had in…
The worse experience I have ever had in booking a hotel. They are crooks. That commercial looking all fancy and legitamit. Is nothing but a scam. Take your money with deceit an lies. They disappear off earth the minute you say cancel. But you got a big debt coming off your card. Don't do it. Do not do it. Don't trust them. Please. Worse experience. They never answered the phone.
