Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 83 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggle with unhelpful customer service representatives, long waiting times on the phone, and overwhelming difficulties when trying to resolve urgent booking issues. People also report unexpected extra fees added at the counter and face major hurdles when attempting to secure proper refunds or alter their travel reservations. Though some travelers faced significant challenges with their itineraries, a small group of reviewers were happy with smooth booking processes and successful trips. These visitors noted that certain hotel stays and flights proceeded entirely without any complications, successfully providing adequate information, transparent rates, and reliable experiences.

the cancelation policy means nothing. My cancelation policy said no show charge equal to one night stay, we were charged for the whole stay

Flight was canceled and we couldn't arrive at the hotel for the first night. Tried calling the hotel booked through Travelocity. Hotel said Travelocity needed to cancel the Hotel or we would continue to be charged for all 4 days we had been booked. I Called Travelocity they originally said we would be charged for the first night but later changed their mind and said we were being charged for the full 4 nights. Our cancelation policy stated no show penalty equal to one night hotel charge. they were notified before our stay started and they still charged us the full amount. The flight cancelation was not our fault. don't work with a travel company (Travelocity) who won't work with you when travel interruptions happen.

When finding any flights

When finding any flights, don’t go through any third party company. Just go to the actual airline website or use google for your search. Travelocity policies sucks and dealing with their customer rep also sucks. There’s always an excuse. They will tell you to contact the airline for anything they won’t give you even though you bought the flight ticket with them. Don’t use Travelocity or else you’ll regret it.

False advertising on pricing!

Travelocity has been nothing but a nightmare in the last few months! Every time you try to book anything with the price that is offered to you, it gets bumped up right before making the reservation! I have tried multiple times, different days, and times and they manage to increase your travel itinerary every time! Shame on you Travelocity! I will book another way……

Spam email

They sent me a email that said they have under $200 flights I checked immediately they don't have under $200 dollar flights. I called to ask what is going on and was told flight prices can change without notice. The amount of time between me getting the email and checking flight prices was 5 minutes. Travelocity is nothing but spam email and a dishonest company.

An absolute nightmare

An absolute nightmare. You literally can not reach a human being unless you know every single detail of your flight and tell it to their supper annoying and unhelpful useless AI. WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO CALL IF YOU ALREADY HAD THE INFO???? The most expensive of all the booking services i've used. I will never ever ever ever use travelocity again.

rip off

There are a lot of extra costs that they don't tell you about. Making there "travel packages" worthless after the extra fees you end up having to pay it makes more sense to book directly with the vendors, the "travel packages" don't save you money and might actually end up costing you more.

Travelocity has the absolute worst…

Travelocity has the absolute worst customer service of all time. Worth it to spend even a little more to NOT book with them.

We had a flight ready to book, hit book, and their site said "unable to book try again in a few moments". We called in after trying and getting the same error. In the 5 min it took to get an agent, the flight price had gone up over $100. They refused to honor the price from 5 min ago even with screenshots of their websites error. When asking for a supervisor, the first agent "dropped" the call after leaving us on hold and the second agent just refused to transfer us saying a supervisor would not do anything for us.

Read Carefully when Booking!

I booked my first trip through Travelocity yesterday. I went to book a car. None available. Went to book an Uber. None available. So, I go to my reservation and find out my airport is 500 miles from my hotel! I have traveled extensively. I have booked many trips through other sites. I have never, ever encountered this problem. If I hadn't caught this within 24 hours, I would have been responsible for payment. I had to cancel the hotel and the flight separately. I am livid. called Travelocity to make sure my trip was cancelled and the representative was argumentative and told me that the airline distance from the hotel was plainly obvious when booking. This was obviously incorrect. I will never use Travelocity again. I pity the people who book through them and don't catch things like this.

Travelocity is a scam site!

Do not trust this site, they WILL rob you!
I booked a return flight and rental car package from Brisbane to Auckland in Australian dollars. After the confirmation came through I got a message from my bank saying some unusual transactions had occurred so I checked and the first thing I saw was they'd charged me US dollars meaning I've effectively paid double what the package is worth had I gone through any other site. The 2nd thing was there were 2 other transactions from them that don't equate to anything I purchased in my package. My bank is investigating but said the money is gone. Now I've got the fun task of having my card cancelled and a new one issued and all the joys that come with that headache.
They have no customer service to speak of either so I'm just hoping my over priced trip for my sister's wedding goes smoothly from now on.
Avoid at all costs!!!!

Ocean riveria pardise

Went all inclusive package to ocean riveria paradise in playa del carmen. Suppose to be a 5 star resort. Not even close. Been to playa over 40 times. This resort is a scam. Amities they say they provide you pay for aren’t available or aren’t there. They don’t Accomadation your reservation. Paid for a pool view room got a view looking at cement. Waited almost 2 days of a 9 day vacation to get the correct room. Had to replace the mattress total not good. The toilet had to be repaired 3 times. The casino was closed didn’t mention that. The bowling alley of 6 lanes only 3 worked 2 hour wait. The theater entertainment was the worst. Stayed like 10 min. Each time. The train that took you from one end to the other hardly available. But the Previage guest had several train to take back and forth that the regular guest couldn’t use. When most were empty. I addressed these issues to the front desk they preceded to turn my entry cards off so I couldn’t enter my room. When I had used it a hour earlier. Very rude to us which we are American. Worse all inclusive resort ever stayed at. More like maybe 2.5 star rating. Most people we talked to had the same feelings. Carlos meets you when you arrive he and Fernando are con artist. Offer you a lot so you go to there presentation. Than don’t follow up. Very pushy totally didn’t make us happy. Most generally I never write these reviews. We understand things happen but other Americans experienced the same thing. Enough said.

BEWARE - Not worth using Travelocity

Not worth using Travelocity. Once I finalized my trip and hit the Submit button, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a green pop-up message informing me “Good news the price of your trip has decreased from $ to lower $. Book now to secure this price". I immediately took a picture of the pop-up message to show my friends and hit the Submit button again to secure the lower price.

Travelocity did not stand behind their statement. Even when I emailed the manager the picture with the green pop-up message, he stated because I didn’t have the entire picture, there is nothing that can be done. I wouldn't think I would have to take a picture of the entire screen to prove their pop-up message??? It is obvious that by looking at the URL, I am in the Checkout step. I thought they were a reputable company ~ Never using them again!

Customer service is absolutely worthless

I've used them for many, many years but after not helping me with a return flight, I'm out. They blamed United but United assisted me even though I made the mistake of going through Travelocity. NEVER. AGAIN. Or any Expedia affiliate. I'll be making reservations directly with airlines from now on.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! As soon as there is a problem you are on your own. They have no call center, so you have to interact with a stupid chatbot. When an operator finallt picks up the conversation, it is even worse. The word reimbursement has no meaning for them, regardless of what they advertise when selling something.
