Awful distance learning

I'm doing the distance learning Level 3 Award in Teaching and Training that is completed in my own time. The purpose of it is to enable me to become an effective trainer. The course materials are tedious and badly organised. Repetitive, wearisome, and unengaging PowerPoint presentations that do not in any way model what an effective teacher says or does. A good trainer uses a mixture of training styles, including asking their students for their input and discussing their answers, none of which are emulated in this training. I may learn some theory, but I won't experience what a good teacher looks like, which is surely the whole point of my completing this training.

First class course!

I attended an Emergency First Aid course delivered by Nick. The energy, knowledge and experience of the facilitator was first class. Through demonstrations, questioning and practicing of routines I went away at the end of the day confident that I could apply what I had learnt.

Excellent course

Excellent course. Very comprehensive coverage during the course of the day. Our instructor was competent, professional and approachable giving feedback to participants so that they could improve and meet the required standard to pass.

So interesting & fun!

My first aid course was absolutely incredible! I usually dread these things, but Andy Jones made it so much fun and it was so interesting. It was also very good because they relate it to real life incidents so you can imagine what you’d need to do and also he was amazing at answering all the questions we had. I really enjoyed it!

A very well run First Aid refresher…

A very well run First Aid refresher day. Nick was a great presenter/instructor speaking clearly and fluidly. Responded really well to questions and it was clear that he was very knowledgeable. Some very good practical sessions to keep the audience engaged.

First Aid Training

I've just completed my mandatory first aid training as a scout Leader. The course was delivered excellently by our trainer, Nick, and has given me the confidence to deal with first aid situations and pass on my knowledge to the young people in our group.
