I ordered a sat nav and a day later I decided to changed my mind so I called them to cancel the order they told me to call ups which I did then they told me to contact tomtom as the item was still with them but tomtom still continued to send send the item regardless tomtom customer service never again

GO 6000 has a much slower processor than it needs, so the device is not pleasant to use. It's only a few years old but the map updates don't fit on the device now because the company didn't have the foresight to make the storage capacity future-proof at the time (OR they knew it wouldn't be enough, and they made it low anyway in the hope that you'll just buy a new device). I had to buy an SD card to install the new, trimmed down version of UK + Europe - but it doesn't give you the option to install UK maps only on the device itself (even though I paid for UK AND Europe). So on one hand I have fewer maps than I paid for originally, and on the other I can't cut down the number of maps to a level low enough to fit on the device itself - so had to buy an SD card. Poor.

One day the device suddenly decided it had no maps installed, when I was on an important journey. Updating it on the computer was then very difficult because the MyDrive Connect software continuously reports that the device is not connected to the PC, yet it is - the device shows on its own screen that it's updating, and the network monitor indicates it's downloading stuff. But it gives you no idea how long is left on the download.

the Satnav clean I got no update and in spite of messaging and email and TomTom no help whatsoever from and no refund do not ever buy a TomTom

I ordered speed camera updates for 12 months costing £15.99 on 24/08/19. Order No. 408663493.
This was paid from my Amex account on 25/08/19.
I received an email from TomTom on 25/08/19 showing the amount as paid.
Today 21/09/19 I received an email saying I no longer receive speed camera updates and invited me to renew my subscription!
WHY?

dear GPS users, if you value your time and money, don't buy TOMTOM! I have life time maps but starting April 7th they don't support the time feature in the older units. My very old Garmin still knows time of the day and a time of arrival.

I had a truck Sat Nat which need replaced because it no longer gets supported. I got a link as a valued customer and when I went I was offered two options with discount. Because it was a truck one I have been updating and the details are truck I assumed it was a truck one offered. WRONG never assume .... So when it arrived it's for a car . Checking the email and the link no mention of it being a car. Pretty disappointed at the company not properly link your upgrade to what you use at the moment poor effort tomtom.
How ever spoke to their customer service who did arrange to get it returned for refund but if the company got it correct first time, well need I say more

I have 2 Tom Tom camper devices which needed updating. I tried updating the 1st one and it has now been corrupted by connecting to tom tom website it will not move off the start up picture. Thinking the updates had not downloaded properly I then connected the 2nd device to their website to download the updates. Well surprise , surprise this one has also been corrupted. I need these devices now as will be using M/H soon abroad. Customer services of no help whatsoever. Trying to sell me a new one!!! MONEY GRABBERS!!!! no concern for their customers at all. Go somewhere else not - Tom Tom!!!!!

Bought the above top of the range car sat nav.
Pros:
Comes with screen protector and carry case.
Good built.
Good responsive screen and screen display.
Quick response and clear voice.
Accurate time estimates of the journey.
Pairs well on bluetooth with the phone.
Good set of accessories.
Excellent Tomtom customer service.

Cons:
Not so accurate.
Used in Italy but it kept giving out wrong speed limits - higher than those clearly displayed on the roads even when settings were changed to local Km speed.
Indicated cameras where there were none and sometimes missed the ones that were there!
At times, indicated right turns where there was no turning.
Wordings used can be a bit confusing at times like asking to peep right when actually a right turn is needed.
Sometimes gives too many instructions in advance to remember.
Had totally incorrect information of airport parking. Experienced a nightmare looking for the car rental car park which was in fact saved in the sat nav when I collected the car.
It has built in traffic news but did not seem to work.
Voice recognition was a total failure with me - I just ignored it. Not sure if it works well or not.

3 stars are given mostly for Tomtom's excellent customer service. Unfortunately the product is disappointing considering that it was top of the range and therefore supposed to be good.

tomtom rider 4GDOO bought with lifetime maps. well always kept immaculate and carefully updated the maps arriving home from France to find that now the device will not retain the whole of europe UK France etc, I can only choose one map at a time as there doesn't seem to be enough space to hold them all in its memory. So without a PC there is no way I can change country or region . Useless now for using on a long tour as I intended. What a nightmare and no help from tom tom. very disappointing. I would have rather kept tho old maps so it worked but no warning of this

I have a lifetime update on maps but Haven't been able to use my sat nav for the last 4 months. the UK map has malfunctioned and I can neither update it or repair it.
Trying to find the customer care phone number is a challenge in itself and avoiding the ads that attack you every step of the way.
I was advised what to do and it never works. Each time they leave me saying it will work and they will email me in case it doesn't and they don't email me - and it never works. Even the sat nav says Done! as though everything has been updated but all i have is a map of Greece!. Exhausting and Appalling.

I purchased a Tom Tom 6000 had to return it to have a battery replaced unfortunately they kept it a month only updated the software returned it too me saying it was not in warranty ! Which it still was ! Don’t buy one try one of the other brands

TomTom advertise their "Excellent return policy" on their web site. Well, that is nonsense! They sent the wrong Mount & Charger for my TomTom Go Premium X that I had just purchased at their urging, because they no longer supported my old TomTom Go model. Eventually after a long "on-hold" telephone call that took 33 minutes, I got a person who said that they would send my returns request to their "special approvals team" and this was a formality, it would be approved and I would have to pay nothing. Duly an approved return appeared in my emails, and when I got the returns label it was for a "Drop Off" at a depot/drop-off location. Another long 40 minute telephone call elicited the refusal to pick up my parcel from my home, I would have to take half a day off, take the parcel to a drop-off location, and pay my own petrol to do so! So much for their "Excellent return policy" and the promise that I would incur no cost! That's the last thing I ever buy from TomTom! (And they will never get a recommendation from me - quite the opposite!)

Sat nav is okay but used Thier chat service and the guy tried to sell me a Windows security system for my computer for 499. Like something fro a 70's timeshare crook. Absolutely outrageous!!!!

Absolutely shocking customer services. Had a repair to a mounted dock which took weeks to do then they failed to send 4 screws out for me to attach back to the bike. Ignored emails and took ages to get back to me, then insisted I had to send the mount back again so they could then sent me 4 screws. I haven't been able to use the sat nav for weeks now. Each time I send an item I have to travel into a neighbouring town to find a UPS drop off. Absolute rubbish!

just tried to update my tomtom with nancy and she cut us off and rang us for him to say that we wasn't trying then hung up appalling service

Shocking customer service.
Chat function is useless - disconnects all the time.
No one will speak to you over the phone about sports watches.
Will definitely avoid in future.

Servers for downloading updates are a joke

Sat nav is 3 years old , supposed to have lifetime maps . Speed cameras have to be paid for as an extra .
Started getting emails last year that it was an "old" model and there would be problems with the GPS satellites that meant it wouldn't show journey times correctly & trying to make me by a new model for £200+
Got an email yesterday telling me that it will not be able to update with the latest maps ...offers for new models @ £230 & £250 !
Quite frankly, the satnav is crap. After a year or so, the battery won't hold a charge for very long, so you can't even update it without charging it first, or even use it to put in routes before travelling without plugging it in or charging it.
My area , Croydon, introduced 20mph limits across the borough over a year ago. The satnav still shows the vast majority of these roads as 30MPH. Pathetic
Quite frankly, Google Maps is free, and also , in my experience , gives pretty accurate live updates for road closures & re routing for traffic jams etc
If Tom Tom go out of or lose business , they only have themselves to blame.

Do not you think that it is inadmissible to not be able to update your GPS because it reaches 10 years of age and that it works perfectly, and TOMTOM offers me to buy another one (well, let's see) and we are told that there is too much pollution for the planet ... A nice gang of thugs, this is called programmed obsolescence that should be condemned, it is fine to play the environmentalists ....
