Disappointing

The tour was large and part of 3 other buses doing the same tour. Our driver kept offering toilet stops/ choices to the group. Which when you have a large group means its hard to make decisions and you have a large group any stop is long anyway. This was just frustrating and if he had just made calls we would have all been fine with it (there were enough toilet breaks without the additonal ones) We didnt need the additional toilet breaks and stop for some cows in the rain.
The most frustrating was our driver strongly suggested we see sights past Portree before coming back to Portree for our lunch which we agreed to. He told us lunch would be at 2 instead of 1, but by the time we got to Portree for lunch it was 3. Most places were not serving lunch anymore so I ened up having a very disappointing lunch in rain.
Additionaly this tour was spent mostly on the bus i probably would not have booked this if I had been aware.
With 3 large buses pretty much in convey no place was really nice to spend time enjoying the veiws- it would be easy to alter the itinerary so that there is less cross over- ie 1-2 buses do Rougie Falls first and Urqhart castle on the way back.
Our driver was nice but compared to the stories etc given by tour guides on other tours i have done in Scotland he was not up to parr. Additionally the pre recorded parts seemed like AI and felt soulless.
For the price I paid I felt it was not worth it (the sights etc were wonderful but the say was frustrating all round)
You should strongly consider if day trips to Skye are feesible as it is a long day with most of it on the bus.

2-day Isle of Sky tour

My wife and I took a 2-day Isle of Skye, Scotland, tour through Timberbush Tours. The overall experience was really good. The online purchase, setup and confirmation back from Timberbush was clear and concise. The confirmed a week before to set my mind at ease. The tour itself was great. Nice coach vehicle with huge windows, and lots of stops for bathrooms, coffee, etc. Our driver was Saif, and he ended up being really good. Initially it was a tiny bit confusing as Saif was asking me and the other tourists which places we wanted to stop for food -- which was impossible for us to answer as we had never been to the Isle of Skye before. But soon we all got into a rhythm on that front. Saif was knowledgeable and kept us informed about our schedule. He played some really good pre-recorded pieces with history about the castles, etc., which was nice. Also played some nice Scottish music during some 45-minute drives through the beautiful Skye scenery, which all of us on the coach enjoyed. Saif's funny, kind personality ended up making the 2 days very enjoyable. And the incredible scenery of Skye and the highlands speaks for itself. I would definitely take a Timberbush Tour again, and if Saif was the driver I would be very happy.

A beautiful, scenic trip.

We went on the day tour from Glasgow to Loch Lomond , through the Trossachs and to Stirling Castle. There were just 9 of us on this mini bus trip.
Linda our guide was very pleasant and informative and it showed that she loved the area where she lived. We stopped at Balloch where some of us went on a boat trip(optional), and then a lovely scenic drive to Aberfoyle for lunch. She stopped a couple of times for us to take photos and enjoy the scenery plus a stop to see 3 lovely Highland cattle!! Stirling Castle was a lovely area to explore.
Thank you Linda for making this a great day out for us.

Our driver and guide Alen

Our driver and guide, Alen was so authentic and warm. He had a great sense of humor and was quite knowledgeable about the history and folklore of Scotland. We couldn't have had a better experience. He made the trip! In fact to me he was like family and I honestly miss him. We wish him well and maybe heavenward we will see him again.

Highlands with highlights!

I did the Highlands, Glencoe, Loch Ness tour with John as a guide and Morag as driver and the experience was amazing!
Morag is such a smooth driver, which made the long tour quite enjoyable, and paired with John’s insightful strories and fun facts about Scotland’s history, this was a memorable trip. Thank you to both for a wonderful time and I truly recommend this duo!

Toured Eileen Donan castle and Isle of Skye with Sinclair and Kathleen in a 16 passenger coach. A tight squeeze. Eileen Donan was beautiful with an extra cost to get inside. I thought we were doing fairy pools but didn’t, so read your stop list carefully to be sure you are making the right choice. The Isle of Skye was beautiful. Sinclair was fully of cheer and chatter. Kathleen a good driver

A Must Do to Really See Scotland!

We did 2 tours:
1. Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands with Gary 5/21
2. Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle and the Kelpies with John 5/22

The ride was comfortable and included enough bathroom and stretching stops along the way. The lunch spots are basic. The tour guides were both very informative and knowable about the sites and went above and beyond with answering unrelated questions to the tour. Gary is quite the historian and gave us lots of great information about our ancestry. The tour guide John, on our second tour really had the guests going and cheering along the way. He's an excellent driver when we were diverted for a road closure, he handled an alternate route with a very narrow winding road with great skill. He also pointed our many things beyond the tour description and was very authentic.

Loch Ness, Glencoe & Scottish Highlands AMAZING tour!

Took Loch Ness, Glencoe & Scottish Highlands Tour in Apr 24 leaving from Edinburgh. My tour bus driver/main guide was Stevie and his counterpart was Lorna. They were both very informative over a 13-hour day while we traveled into the highlands. This tour is a MUST DO when visiting Scotland! About half the time was driving, but was broken up by comfort stops, photo stops, ice cream stops, etc. Both guides were very respectful of needing fresh air, coffee and a restroom! We visited the mountains in Glencoe, Inverness, Loch Ness and several other small towns on the drive up and back. I added an additional tour of Urquhart Castle which are ruins right along Loch Ness…making for phenomenal, dramatic photos (the only thing missing was Nessie!!). Afternoon ended with a boat ride along the Loch Ness before heading back to Edinburgh. 5-stars to Stevie and Lorna for putting up with literally 42 people shuffling on and off the bus and entertaining us throughout the trip! Great tour company (Timberbush Tours) and brand new, comfortable bus with USB ports!! One small complaint: that we didn’t get close up pics of the furry Highlands cows ☹ (for us crazy tourists, consider stopping so we can take memorable pics!) HIGHLY recommend this tour and guides!

Amazing experience with Timberbush Tours

Amazing experience with Timberbush Tours twenty days ago. Three dream days in the Highlands and Isle of Skye in a 16-seater van led by Jada, an expert, enthusiastic and passionate guide, always ready and available to explore our curiosities about history and places and attentive to the needs of the group. In my opinion, the organization was perfect: Jada made sure that all the stops were significant and paced the times in such a way as to let us enjoy the moment without rushing and without doing the classic "hit and run" that happen in organized tours. Even though my English is very rusty, Jada was able to make everything more than effortlessly understandable thanks to her natural empathy. I will definitely be traveling with Timberbush Tours, hopefully back to Scotland or maybe Ireland soon. @timberbushtours #timberbushtours
@timberbushtours #timberbushtours

Timberbush Tours are fabulous!!

Timberbush Tours are fabulous!!! Charline was so patient with me and answered all my many questions over the 3 months of preplanning - thank you! We had a perfect “Highlands Tour” and driver/tour-guide (Paul !!!). Three generations (me, daughter, granddaughter) went to UK to celebrate HS graduation (first time out of US too). We splurged and had a one-day private tour with Paul … sooo worth the cost!!! We didn’t want to do the typical Lock Ness tour (I’m sure it’s beautiful too though) counter-clockwise bus tours, where we figured it would be more crowded with tourists. Instead we went clockwise and saw magnificent Locks, castles, small villages, etc. Because we had a private tour, we didn’t have to worry about missing the bus, and we could adjust based on a whim (being accepting spending time somewhere would reduce time elsewhere). Paul coordinated with front office to adjust tours/reservations we had along the way so we didn’t have to!!!! Paul even made an unscheduled bathroom break - very much appreciated!! Went with a handy lightweight hooded raincoat for occasional drizzles - didn’t take away from spectacular views/tours at all.
Beautiful country, extremely knowledgeable & humorous tour guide, and great food at Samphire Seafood Restaurant (book ahead). You just have to be accepting, when you travel great distances in one day, stops are quick - go figure (just roll with it;-). If you want to spend more time, I would recommend doing multiple day trips and stay in town(s)/village(s) you’re focused on touring.
Our thanks go out to everyone at Timberbush Tours, and the businesses along the way, for making that day fantastic!!!
P.S. We flew from LAX to Heathrow and took connecting flight to Edinburgh. TAKE THE TRAIN FROM LONDON TO EDINBURGH - not a connecting flight (or take a backup carry-on)!! Most of the people on the connecting flight did not have their luggage arrive when they did. We all had to fill out missing luggage forms, which weren’t going to be processed for another 3 days - maybe (and no currier)!! There was a room full of luggage from other flights just piling up there and no one was moving them along!! You CAN’T go back into luggage area if you leave (no food/drinks - but at least there’s bathrooms down there)!! Luckily my daughter used to work at an airline and knew to stick around - after 4 more flights our luggage arrived!!! She also found ONE fabulous employee that knew what she was doing and told my daughter which flight our luggage was on. It would have taken AT LEAST 3 DAYS to get our luggage. We wouldn’t have seen our luggage because we were off to London in 3 days! We would have had to spend days shopping for clothing, shoes, makeup, incidentals, etc. - instead of seeing the sights!
