Great staff, great coffee and cakes
Betws-y-Coed
Delicious coffee and cakes. Staff had a great attitude, helpful and customer focused. Huge queue outside was a tell-tale sign that it was going to be good.
Cornish bakery Bourton on the water
had a fantastic experience at the Cornish bakery today, had the most friendly staff despite it being super busy! they were very attentive and professional, i was recommended the cauliflower and onion bhaji pasty which was the best pasty I've had! also tried a 'tall white' which is now my new favourite thing
Inedible "Ploughman's platter"
We visited 29 April 2026. Ordered a Ploughman's platter for 2 cost £18.50, first they brought us a cheese platter, told server this was incorrect, it was taken back, then she brought another us a different cheese platter, finally she brought us a "ploughman's platter", which was inedible, ham hock covered in sea salt, 4 triangles of Toast, no butter, a triangle of cheese which was to creamy had no taste, a handful of withered grapes, withered lambs lettuce a handful of gurkins oh and some sort of savoury roll. I do have a photo of "the Ploughman's "
Awfull Cornish pasty from the new…
Awfull Cornish pasty from the new bakery in Betws y Coed (North Wales). The meat was a rolled up burger!! ( a big dollop of beef mince) wrapped in potatoe! The worst pasty we have ever had! Not a traditional Cornish pasty! The croissants were ok, but Tesco Finest croissants are much better. Personally- I wouldn’t waste your money here. Nothing to rave about that’s for sure! They won’t last long!!
Best cornish pasty
The best authentic Cornish pasty I have had, it was the traditional which was packed full of meat and was wonderfully peppery, made my damp visit to tintagel worth it, staff were lovely too.
Fantastic class!
We were the first to experience the Cornish pudding making class at the Newbury branch and it was amazing! Tiffany was excellent and gave us so much knowledge and we went home with lots of yummy treats. I will definitely return to the cafe, everyone was so welcoming!
New shop opening in Betws-Y-Coed
New shop opening in Betws-Y-Coed, walked past and noticed wonderful cakes, but staff training in process. Later on lady approached us with bags of produce as training completed. Wonderful pastries and savoury tarts would recommend and looking forward to future visits.
Recently visited the bakery in Looe
Recently visited the bakery in Looe. No problem at all with the quality of the food but shocked that as I stood there waiting for my order I watched staff bin so much of what was left! Why not reduce it or donate it? Wasting food when so many are in need is just wrong.
I will no longer purchase anything from this chain.

Quality pastries and beverages and excellent customer service at your business in Swanage, Dorset, this after.
Avoid Cornish Bakery Gretna-Staff is mistreated/Business cares about profit than customers.
As a former worker who quit bcs of the mistreatment of the Cornish Bakery(For legal reasons won’t name myself) I’d like to highlight/make all customers/coaches who stop here aware of how they treat their staff behind the scenes as someone who worked there for 11 months.
It started slowly, small issues like changing letting us have breaks in the office instead in the stuffy crowded storage area and to sit on a wheeled stool for breaks or to sit in the crowded restaurant, yet managers are able to?
The app they use Fourth, would often kick us out of it and if you didn’t know/recall your login you didn’t know your schedule and would be made to change your password to access it. Had to do this at least 7-8 times in my experience working here.
If you’re not particularly social/don’t like talking to others you get penalised for ‘standing around’ when others stand and talk and you take a moment break.
For the last 4-5 months have had hours cut/taken from me along with other staff, on one occasion even had Donna report me to HR for refusing to come in after she took the hours from me, then gave them back and confused me, to which she denied this as ‘rubbish.
None of the workers except the mangers have contracts, we’re all on 0 hours which feels like the management and Caledonia in general’s way of sneakily loopholing to take hours from staff to shift them to their schedule liking. We also would get barely a day notice sometimes, just a simple text asking to work the next day sometimes, in my case, once or twice at least.
Finally the real finisher was when I came into work the 28-29th Donna had a tight attitude of me not working the hours I refused because of how confusing it was to be given them, then taken back, then gave them again?? Little regard to this and she verbally screamed at me both days for this and got sent home with only being in work barely 10 minutes on Saturday.
Hoped a fresh start would happen Sunday, it did not, Donna had the cheek to try to force me to sign a legal document to HR stating I yelled at her first(I have Nicola & Hannah as witness, she started this, only they wouldn’t speak out for fear of retaliation I imagine.) I refused to and after some more raising her voice at me I gave up and quit, she followed me into the storage area as I was putting my jacket on to try to get me to sign the document stating I started the yelling which I refused and left.
The management will happily throw its workers under the bus for quick buck of its customers yet will rant about those same customers in the back(Even Donna has, to our faces, amongst others) and will give them unclean cutlery/dishes when we run out that aren’t even put through dishwasher, just hand scrubbed for a few seconds. I advise all coaches/shoppers of Caledonia or if you frequent Caledonia Park to avoid this chain, they are mistreating staff and will continue to do so from experience.

Kid-friendliness
Kids can make the place crowded, if you don’t see them and accidentally bump into them, managers don’t take nicely/see this as accident(Donna did scream at this/send me home.)
Wheelchair accessibility
Next to none. No ramp, nothing.
Lincoln branch
Lincoln branch. Fantastic location and staff. Excellent bacon and cheese croissant. Excellent chocolate croissant type thing. Nice coffee. Well worth a go

My wife and I visited on the opening day of their store in Lincoln, phenomenal service. The food is first rate and the farmhouse sausage roll was delicious. We can’t recommend them highly enough.
Thank you so much
Great coffee, awesome work spot
The Cornish Bakery in Cirencester is one of my favourite coffee spots in a town that takes its coffee very seriously.
The building is beautiful, and it’s a great place to work from. WiFi and plug sockets next to every seat, so no awkward hovering near the one outlet by the toilet.
The pastries are great but I’m mostly here for the coffee, which is made wonderfully and always hits the spot. Staff are genuinely lovely. Busy place, but they always make you feel well looked after.
The only drawback is the takeaway cups, but I’ll use that as an excuse to drink ‘in’
Poor quality custard tart
I visited the Lyme Regis Cornish Bakery today. I found the service efficient and the staff friendly. I ordered a portuguese custard tart and was very disappointed with the quality. It was not an authentic one made with egg as the filling was like custard just yellow sweet and a bit runny. Not the texture of a proper egg tart. It was also cold. I was not given a refund as I had eaten the whole tart, which was my mistake. I have also found out that they never cook their scones fresh every day they always use the previous day's batch. Bearing in mind the high price of these items and low quality I will not be returning.

Cornish Bakery Ambleside
Cornish Bakery Ambleside.
Scrumptious food and always service with a smile. The team are always incredibly friendly and efficient.
This time we sat in to enjoy a steak and Stilton, and a cheesy leak and ham. Absolutely delicious. It isn't our first time here and won't be our last. Fantastic team and food!
It's ALWAYS busy which says it all. There's also plenty of awards on display which is nice to see!
Very Enjoyable Place to eat
The staff are always very efficient, hard working and courteous. The selection of cakes and pastries, which are made on site, are delicious and very consistent.
We visit regularly and as the Woodbridge site is very popular, it is always disappointing when they are full.
Norwich Branch
Norwich Branch: My first time going to the Cornish Bakery, the Shakshuka Croissant was lovely and so was the coffee (latte). However, I found the customer service let my experience down. Queued at 8:30am, and only one lady on the til dealing with customers, no problem to wait, but just asked is it okay to order at the til or is it online (shop online displayed on coffee boards) and felt the response was quite short, but I understand the pressures of being the only person serving. However, when it came to placing my order I felt rushed, and asked to eat in, yet order was put all into takeout bags and cups. Unfortunately felt as though custom was not so wanted and would think twice about going back to this branch.
