Terrible business ,AVOID AT ALL COST

I am absolutely disgusted with the condition of the cake collected today for my daughter’s birthday.

This cake cost £40 and was handed over in a completely unacceptable state. The entire structure was collapsing, the filling and cream were leaking out around the sides, the decoration was damaged, and it was not even stable enough to properly display or put candles into for a child’s birthday celebration.

What makes this even worse is that we were kept waiting an EXTRA HOUR for collection, yet despite that delay, this is the condition the cake was handed over in. There was clearly no proper quality check carried out before giving it to a paying customer.

The cake was also not properly protected or secured for transport. For a business selling celebration cakes, that is completely unacceptable. A cake should be boxed and supported well enough to survive a normal journey home. Instead, we were handed something that already looked like it was falling apart.

The result was that my daughter’s birthday cake was ruined and we were forced to go out and spend MORE money buying another cake at the last minute on what should have been a special occasion.

I have photographs showing the condition of the cake immediately after collection. No reasonable person would look at this and think it reflects £40 worth of quality or professional work.

At this stage I am requesting a full refund. I would also appreciate an explanation as to how a cake in this condition was considered acceptable to hand over to a customer in the first place.

I expect a response promptly.
