Paid a lot for this watch. After a few uses the screen went dark and is now unusable. Cannot get the courage to throw out this expensive watch. Brought one when it first came out.

Broken Promises

SWOLF and stroke counts were promised update after a successful kickstarter campaign. Just say you can't do it with the existing hardware. And stop advertising these features that is still in the works for over 5 years.

4 years on, the promised update is nowhere to be seen.

Also, the screen is useless under a overcast sky, needless to say, I cant see crap if I swim outdoors during the day.

I asked for brightness adjustments, but looks like it's not happening.

Don't buy this overpriced watch because you can only see the display indoors.

Edit:
I realised that my watch display is get dimmer and dimmer. Give it a few more months, I think it will go to e-waste bin.
I quote your email to me on 18 Jan 2017.
"We are currently working on adjusting the brightness, so it would be more visible. Our development team is working on this."
"We will work on adjusting the vibration intensity, thank you for your feedback."

4.5 years, I am still waiting for this update. And I am also waiting for your SWOLF update which you claimed to be in development which I believe as far as kickstarter project which is more than 6 years ago.

Hello. Thank you for this review. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with our product.

Your claim that the existing hardware does not allow for the features in development is simply incorrect.

As far as the screen is concerned - limited visibility in bright light is characteristic of all OLED screens and it's a matter of physics. Devices such as smartwatches typically use this type of screen and you will find it in most similar products, as OLED screens are generally the best for choice here despite this one, circumstantial drawback.

I love my Swimmo

A company is measured by it's service when you have a problem.
Swimmo rectified a manufacturing fault immediately, and to my complete satisfaction, without ANY hassle. GERAT service.
In the week I did not have the watch, I did not swim at all, I had gotten so used to my watch beforehand, which had brought me from 2 swims a week to 5 swims a week.
I am now back to 5 swims a week and improving.
Thanks again for a great product

Another year elapses without any improved features.

So, yet another year passes and still no stroke count or SWOLF. No indication of when these will arrive.

Seriously folks they are a million and one better watches out there at a lower price point. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH.

This is like buying a retro swim watch because you like the lack of features or little foibles.

Great product but slow delivery

14th July - Update:
I have now received my order on the 13th of July 2021. The watch is great, it's easy to use and setup.

Since putting up my initial review below - I've had a few correspondence from Swimmo and I now have my order - so, all is good here now 👍.

I still won't give 5 full stars because I do believe there's room and opportunity for improvement but they deserve 4 stars for their willingness to help and work through issues - thank you.

Also, will be a good idea to set the right expectations on your website for deliveries outside of Poland (yes, I know this may not necessarily be in your control but you need to let people know it could take a month).
*****

09th July - INITIAL REVIEW:
Placed an order (ORDER #‎BBE887F84‎) with Swimmo directly on their website 17th of June - I am yet to receive the watch. I have emailed twice now, I was told there was a delay then given a tracking number which has both Origin and Destination country as "Poland" (I live in the UK btw).
No response yet to my last email, and no telephone number to speak to a human being. Really not impressed with the service and nothing to show for a watch that costs £149.

I'm not sure where others bought their watches from, but I would think twice before buying from Swimmo directly

Hello. Thank you for providing the order number. Please check the tracking information again - it's already updated with the latest status showing the final stages of delivery. Please note that this universal tracking website shows status from both the origin and destination country carrier's perspective, but that does not mean that the destination is Poland in both cases. From what we can see, it's correctly marked as UK. Feel free to use the same number on the website of your national postal operator as well.

To clarify - we did respond to your last e-mail (on the 9th of July) and we have just sent yet another e-mail with the update. Please check if our e-mails are not filtered somehow by your mailbox.

Edit: From what we can see, the package was delivered and signed soon after you left your review. Please confirm and update your review accordingly.

I love my watch as I have heart failure and it vibrates if I’m working too hard. However, after a break from swimming due to COVID I can hardly see the screen or any writing. I’ve charged it to full, power. Please help as I’m about to start swimming again

This product does not suit “interval or mixed mode” training

From the brand “ We have also never advertised or claimed that the watch supports interval training of mixed modes”. So unless you are doing just one stroke, this could prove disappointing. Perhaps suited for straight freestylers or open-water swimmers. The company is based in Poland, despite other information online suggesting it is a US based company. Now, they are trying to bully me into removing my review, so I’ll revise to a 0
Swimmo is now saying I am posting this review “out of spite” - It is a plain and simple “Buyer Beware”. They claim I am not using correctly, what a load of BS, it is simply unsuitable for a swimmer doing modern swimming drills. Unless you want to be tapping your watch every lap or two, how ridiculous is that. Designed to make money, not to provide a solution to swimmers. Scam of the Year.

Hello. It appears that you've contacted us after over 2 years and you have not even waited for our reply before posting this review. Having the watch measure distance accurately is a matter of very simple guidelines. Please follow the troubleshooting that we provided via e-mail.

Edit after your reply: You have given us no chance to assist you at all - we have not even begun to troubleshoot your specific case by analyzing your workouts. Instead, you have now admitted via e-mail that you wished to essentially extort a refund after over 2 years(!) of using the product by threatening us with negative reviews. We will, of course, not comply with this.

2nd edit: The continued e-mail conversation proved that the user was using the watch incorrectly and has not engaged the dedicated kick&drill mode while performing board kicks, which resulted in inaccurate tracking.

To clarify: you can mix strokes (provided you don't change them mid-lap) and you can mix kicks with regular swimming, as long as you engage and disengage the kick&drill mode accordingly (which you didn't do).

The company address is (and has always been) visible on the website. We aren't responsible for any external sources that you might have come across.

To summarize - the original issue (now edited by the reviewer), and the subsequent refund demand after 2 years of using the watch, proved to be due to evident user error and, as such, we consider this review to be unjustified and unfair.

3rd edit:

We are sorry to see another lie from your side even after the issue was clarified. We have not "bullied" you to remove your review - we have asked you to update it to reflect that all what you've written initially was based on your mistake. You are clearly unable to admit this and you're acting out of spite. We consider this case closed.

Satisfied user, received excellent support.

I’ve been using my Swimmo watch for 1 year in my swim spa. I broke my charger so I sent off $30 for a replacement. Mail was slow, but Swimmo was very helpful. Replacement finally arrived and it arrived broken. Packaging was damaged in shipping. I explained this to Swimmo and they immediately committed to replacing it at no charge. In both contacts, via email, they answered within 24 hours. I couldn’t be more satisfied. As for my watch, My only real interest is in my heart rate, for my health. I have peripheral interest in distance, and no interest in strokes. I sync it to my iPhone after each swim and get everything I am interested in. I look at my watch only to see
My recovery heart rate right after I finish. It is perfect for what I need. Soon I will share it with one of the built in sharing links to challenge my brother, who bikes. Not sure it will be meaningful, but will try. Count me a delighted customer.

Total junk

Total junk - unresponsive, inaccurate (missing laps), crashed after every other swim and required a software reset. What's most disappointing - the company doesn't take responsibility for shipping a faulty product back and instead is trying to re-classify the whole ordeal as the "change of mind return" (of course, at buyer's expense) instead of admitting that the watch is bad - in order to NOT COVER THE RETURN SHIPPING COST. Do not buy this product unless you like to waste your hard earned $200.

Hello.

We are sorry that you feel this but review is highly misleading and does not reflect the situation. It is you who wished to treat this case as a return, as the warranty service would mean replacing or repairing the watch, which you refused to acknowledge and accept. That is, provided the watch is faulty at all, which we could not establish due to your complete refusal to cooperate and to follow the standard troubleshooting, or give us feedback regarding all the suggested steps.

Suggesting the 14-day return was actually giving you a way to achieve the outcome you preferred, so we don't appreciate trying to misrepresent this as us re-classifying the nature of the case. We will gladly treat this case as a warranty claim, as was our initial intention.

As we have explained to you several times now and as it's clearly written in our Terms - we do reimburse shipping costs for warranty repair and confirmed faults. We recommend actually reading the terms of sale and the warranty terms before you make any online purchases instead of shifting the blame for failing to do so on the seller.

Swimmers; Beware of false advertisement.

I bought a swimmo watch during the end of November 2020. It arrived early January 2021, the tracking service was not reassuring. Once I received the watch, I started trying on my swimming training. The first thing I noticed is that the first time the watch connect to the app, it takes a long time and even several tries. The app is not really nice for data analysis.
During the training, the watch is accurate for swimming styles but for swimming drills, it missed the mark. It does not detect laps (0% detection) on kick drills with board and it supposed to have a feature for kick&Drill. There are several drills the the accuracy is 50% at its best. Therefore, at the end of the training routine your data is off by 30% or more (depending on your training). I have sent several e-mails to their customer/technical center and their response is always respectful but not my expectation of a responsible company. On several e-mails they state that some of the drills are like changing swimming style in the middle of the lap and should be avoided (in other words, you should adapt your training to your watch and not the other way around). After 2 weeks, I contacted customer service for either refund or help. After 3 weeks of no results I asked for a refund and they denied the refund because of it has to be within 14 days of the purchase and it has to be a hardware issue (not a Firmware issue, that according to them is my problem).
My takeaways:
-Swimmo Watch only works for just swimming styles.
-it is not very comfortable
-You have to hit it very hard to use the options
-Connection issues with the smartphone
-It must be used in dominant hand for better results
-Customer service is polite but you'll never reach results
-Inaccuracy makes the product useless
-Refund is hardly an option

My advice: STAY AWAY from Swimmo

Hello James. Thank you for this review. We are sorry that you feel this way but there appears to be a misunderstanding. We never said that if the issue is not hardware then it's the customer's problem - on the contrary - such issues are resolved via firmware fixes remotely, rather than by sending the unit to us. If the problem you've encountered is firmware-related, you can expect a fix soon.

Gift that keeps on giving!

This was a gift for my wife who is an avid swimmer (I can barely stay afloat). As a non-swimmer, this watch was all that it said it would be and was simple/easy for my wife to understand and appreciate. In addition to the tech/tools, it is also a very sleek looking piece of "eye candy" which is more important than you might think. Out of the box, we know that it is going to provide long-term impact to her performance and health in the pool.

Additionally, from my interactions and questions with Symonz and the Swimmo Team, I found them to be incredibly pleasant and insightful. They were very quick in responding to me and empathetic/understanding with my non-swimmer questions. Thank you!

I like it!

I've had this watch for about 2 1/2 years now. Like any new gizmo I had to use it a few times to get the hang of it. E.g., at first I thought it wouldn't hold a charge but I didn't have it fully connected to the charging cable.
What I like best is how clearly lit the display is so I can see data while swimming. The heart rate monitor is useless but that's not important to me.
My only complaint is that there's no Swimmo app for a PC where I could save my data to a file and export it to another training app. Again this is minor since I can add the data manually.
I'd give it 5 stars were it not for the HRM and no PC app. Overall this is a very good product.

ALMOST A SCAM

ALMOST A SCAM. You can use it to tell time, but it is the most inaccurate, unresponsive piece of junk I have ever bought in a watch. I figured out within a day or 2 this watch was not for me because it didn't do what it said it would do within any reasonable interval of accuracy. When I looked to return it, I was told I had to send to Poland! :-0 Of course I would have to pay the postage which was as much as the watch. OMG. For $200 I have a great bit for comedy, but not a worth while watch for swimming in the least.

Don't waste your money

I have contacted with Swimmo "support" several times, their solutions do not work. Often the watch will not track results and instructs me to sync results even after I have synced. Disappointing.
The lap count is frequently off (giving odd number when must be even). Swimmo's answer, 'maybe I am pushing off the wall with different intensity on each lap' REALLY!
Don't waste your money on this product.
