Went up to Temple Newsam…the Rhododendrons are out! Met an old friend who was having car trouble, constant faults, always causing trouble for her. I said,” Buy a Suzuki, I’m on my 5th and wouldn’t go anywhere else, there just different as a dealer.” How many times in the last 11 years have I had this conversation? I thought I’ll send them a message about this experience when I get home. Unsolicited recommendation’s are always the best ones…

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, good selection of vehicles and a relaxed sales approach.
No hard sell on service plans or finance either.
Nice touch having a courtesy call to see if we had got home ok too.

Excellent service = a happy customer
Initially I used Autotrader to search for a used car with several makes in mind. After slimming down the search options, Luscombes featured strongly to me as having an excellent reputation for pre and post sales. This was very important to me, as buying second hand can have its pitfalls. We ended up making two journeys of about 38 miles each way to look at 2 models which we liked, but we wanted to make absolutely sure of the right choice. We put a refundable reserve on both - no problem for them. Andy was our contact, and right from the outset was a pleasure to deal with. No pressure selling at all, really good test drive on both. We purchased the car we wanted, and Andy delivered it to our door the following week. Luscombes provide great photos, a technicians video for each car, the admin and accounts support was spot on too. I was sent a pre departure video before Andy left with the car, and was kept up to date at all times of progress.
A very happy customer, and absolutely happy to recommend.

Absolutely disgusting ripping off the elderly!
Absolutely disgusting service they have given to my elderly parents. My parents are pensioners and was paying £12 a month for the yearly service package. They took there car in this week for the service and when they picked it up the said that over £700 worth of work needed faking at that it was that serious the car wouldn’t pass it’s MOT or even make a trip over to Bradford. As you can imagine my parents were scared and was going to get the work done. But I told them to get a second opinion which I’m so glad I did. The mechanic we took it too
1st - the service that luscombe did was just a oil change. No spark plugs replaced or filter changed. Apparently £12 a month for 12 months a total of £142 only cover the oil change.
2nd - The faults that they said was wrong with the car and that it is was that bad the car wouldn’t make a 14 mile journey over to Bradford. When they were confronted and spoken to our mechanic they admitted that it wasn’t the case and that it just had some rust on exhaust which every car in a wet country does.
Basically scaremongering & ripping off the elderly out of there pension money. If you have been here or pay for the service plan please get a second opinion and get them to check that all the things that should be done on a service have been done.

Lynsey, I have just looked into the situation, as I can assure you this is not how we operate. Our service manager has spoken to the garage who inspected the car after us, and they appear to be in agreement the with the work required. I am livid that we did not produce a video which would highlight the areas needing attention. The used car service plan covers a basic service and MOT, but not additional work, and if you require us to complete the MOT, it would be covered by the service plan, or we can refund you the balance in the plan. We offer basic service plans to buyers of used cars, comparable to fast fit centres in an effort to keep running costs as low as possible. I am truly sorry you feel we have failed to offer a good level of service, but more importantly, we have failed to justify the work was genuine, as I am not in business to overcharge or inflate any costs to anyone. Returning customers have built the business, but unfortunately on this occasion the technician did not produce a video, and the service advisor relayed his findings to you, without ensuring there was a video, so you could see the issues. As customer service and satisfied customers are my no 1 priority, and we failed to produce a video, I will as a goodwill gesture, fit the parts required free of charge. Thanks Robin

The days of shady car salesmen are well and truly over, certainly at Suzuki luscombe anyway. What a pleasurable experience it was to buy the car from here. Never felt pressured, always felt informed, and from Simon going the extra mile to sorting out my personified number plate to filling the car up with a full tank of petrol made the difficult things easy. This is now my 3rd jimny from here over 15 years, so they must be doing something right. Long may they continue.

Fabulous used car sales experience. Heard Luscombe Suzuki’s ad on the local radio “We won’t sell you a car but we’ll help you buy one”.
Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable about the vehicles on their forecourt and the financing side of my new Vitara…….oh, and the patience of saints!

Luscombe Motors provide astoundingly good service! Shaun Holmes makes you feel like you are the only person buying a car, and his attention to detail is second to none. Nigel delivered my new vehicle to me. After a 7 hour drive from Leeds to West Sussex, he still had a smile on his face and took his time going through the vehicle and paperwork with me. As long as Luscombe Motors are around, I will not buy a car anywhere else!
