I feel I need to share how grateful I…

I feel I need to share how grateful I am to have been dealing with Sun Island tours, and in particular, Zena in the groups division. The service has been outstanding, knowledge of the destinations brilliant and their pricing is GREAT. During this Covid period Sun Island Tours have gone above and beyond to help with ensuring passengers money is safe and secure with their overseas suppliers. I cannot recommend them highly enough

We have been informed by our agent that…

We have been informed by our agent that the $5000 we have paid towards the land portion of our Italian tour for May 2020 through Sun Island Tours is regarded as deposit and is NON refundable. This, we are informed, is because Sun Island Tours has already paid suppliers in Italy and they can only work on what the terms are from the Italian suppliers. We are not interested in credit options as our decision is to cancel the trip. We understand there would be a cancellation fee, but to lose $5000 is very upsetting.

Thank you for your reply and further information.

As you have pointed out, the fee that is charged is NOT charged by Sun Island Tours , but the overseas supplier for your group booking. We are not charging any fees at all on this group booking, but have only passed on the unrecoverable fees from the overseas suppliers in Italy.

We have also offered a credit option whereby you can travel in 2021 or 2022 without any fees charged at all.

As we have worked tirelessly on your group, again without charging any fees ourselves, we believe that it is very unreasonable to receive a one star review.

Don’t even deserve one star

Don’t even deserve one star. We can’t believe that you are keeping $11000 of our money for two tours. Offering credit when we have no idea if we can travel again. I would never recommend your company. It’s disgusting the amount of money you are keeping from people. Let’s not forget the $1900 cancellation fee as well. You business is appalling.

We have responded to this review on other platforms.
The $11,000 are funds held in credit for future travel. If you wish to cancel, and not travel in the future utilising the credit, there is a charge of $1,900 in total, which is made up of our fees, supplier fees and travel agent fees. Our fee is only $200 per person which is 3% of the booking file.

I think it's wrong taking $400 refund…

I think it's wrong taking $400 refund fee during these unprecendent times. Have friends who booked with international tour companies, and received full refund. Will not book with you or recommend you to anyone. Poor form.

Thank you for your review.
We offer both credit options and cancellation options. If clients wish to cancel, we charge a $200 per person cancellation fee, which marginally covers our expenses and keeps our 30 year business operating, and is not excessive at all. If clients wish to postpone their travels, we offer a credit option to allow clients to use their funds for future travel.

I cannot believe you are still offering…

I cannot believe you are still offering tour for May onwards, collecting money from people, when you know these tours will not go ahead.

Your booking is for August, not for May, and we are working hard right now to support clients for March departures. We hope everything will settle for August, but if it doesn't we would have a policy for August bookings.

As for May departures, there are some destinations which are still open for business, and those destinations which are not, are being reviewed daily if not hourly. It is a difficult time for us and for the travel industry, but yes we are all still open for business, because without it we, our suppliers, hotels, airlines, tour leaders, coach tour companies would not be in business.

Egypt package

I recently booked a package to Egypt. The prices were very competitive and they were prompt in replying via email. The invoices and vouchers are very detailed. I would definitely book Sun Island Tours again.
