A really good travel experience

Couldn't get a cabin on night sailing…

Couldn't get a cabin on night sailing back so uncomfortable sleep ,our fault but funeral is something one can't book in advance. But at least I was awake with one other guy to watch England beat Mexico. The wife bless her was asleep on a chair behind me.

Take a jacket or fleece on board

Had a 25 min wait in a queue just to enter the port (really slow) even before passport control. The staff and service was great once on board. However the A/C on the ship was set far too low. Most people had jackets, hoodies or fleeces on (the lucky ones). For the rest of us it was arctic conditions, even though it was the height of the summer. At least we remember to take some reading material with us.

Onboard and boarding.

The staff were helpful and the boat was clean and comfortable.The facilities on board were very good.
We were under the impression from the literature that we would be able to board from 2 hours before sailing time, but this was not the case, the wait was very lengthy. As there was a screen to view, the loading time could have been displayed, allowing people to access facilities before boarding.

Always happy to travel on Stena

Stena is always on time and offer a great variety of travel times.
On this trip, however, the free Wifi was not working and the ship was very full and therefore LOUD. Quite a few of the passengers got quite drunk and disruptive. The staff handled it all in their stride, they remained friendly but firm.

We like the overnight aspect and find the cabin beds comfortable and the room is quiet enough for a good sleep. The good aircon also helps.

Embarkment was smooth despite heavy traffic. The journey was comfortable. We arrived on time. Clean cabin. All worked well.
I would welcome basic free wi-fi service as it was before.

Belfast to Liverpool is a great route, cuts down a lot of driving and the overnight saves travel time too. Shame there’s no competition to bring the prices down a little.
