Steinhart Ocean Thirtynine GMT

The steinhart ocean thirty nine gmt is the most accurate automatic watch I have ever owned. It runs less than two seconds a day fast. The only way to get better accuracy is to go with a quartz movement. Thanks Steinhart.

never ordered from Germany 4 days reasonable watch hit Memphis us Customs put a hold ????? contacted FedEx after several calls and email to steinhart watch got released waiting next day delivery i have only seen one steinhart at a gun show looks ok 760.00 total usd the employee was professional and responded the issue was vat import was 291.00 39 pct now iots changed they charge vat up front for us customers got a lot of complaments the watch is good quility i think where it a few time a week its not a rolex but it looks ok for 1000.00 time piece

Unbeatable quality and value

I see a few reviews where people complain about service. If you are sending a watch overseas, it won’t be cheap. In most cases it’s easier to just have it serviced by a local watchmaker. The average Steinhart is either an ETA or Sallita movement; which is really easy to service. I have seven watches by Steinhart and they can’t be beat for the money. It should also be noted, pulling on a crown like an animal can cause damage. This is an automatic mechanical movement and it should be treated with care. Disregard what the negative statements are saying here. You can’t beat Steinhart!

My Ocean One Ceramic developed a…

My Ocean One Ceramic developed a winding issue - I purchased new a number of years ago and thus the watch was out of warranty. I contacted Steinhart and arranged to ship it to Germany for inspection and repair. They provided their shipping account details to charge the shipping to their account. I accidentally selected collection (at a higher cost to them), which they ultimately agreed to cover. There was a slight dispute over the cause of the issue, but as i assured them the watch had been well cared for, they waived the 50 euro repair fee. I therefore paid just 25 euros as a contribution to return shipping. The watch arrived back fully repaired and had been cleaned and polished. Communication was a dream with almost immediate reposes to a number of back and forth emails over the period of a few weeks. The watch was with them for about 5 weeks overall, but they were upfront re: lead times to complete the repair. I did have to follow up with them to find out whether the work had been completed - i got the impression they may have forgotten to contact me once the work was compete. Overall the service was excellent - they are clearly concerned with customer experience and operate in a way that reinforces the quality of their brand. I'll certainly buy another Steinhart in future and will always return it to them for servicing.

The watch they sent was damaged, by sending back they did not accept it

I ordered the Ocean BLACK, on arriving the watch bracelet was stuck.
I removed some of the protection foil to inspect the watch. I decided to sent back the watch.

Few days later they said the watch has been worn and the bracelet been shortened (which is simply not true, since I dont have the tools to even do this) and they wanted to refund only 2/3 of the original price.

I asked to speak to the manager to talk about this case, they could not tell when the manager was available and they just send back the watch without an agreement.

This is not how you treat customers.

Ocean 39 GMT black MILITARY

Bought the Ocean 39 GMT black MILITARY khaki Diver Watch. Unique take on a GMT Homage, I find the watch absolutely stunning, and build quality is perfect.
4 Month Update:
Inthe beginning 5 second a day fast, then 5 second per day slow, now 1 second per day. Stunning watch!

Poor quality, poor experience

Had problems with the watch from the beginning with the bracelet falling apart. Customer Service did send me a new one but not long later a number of other issues presented, the watch was falling apart. The watch was less than 3 years old, very poor quality, not robust at all. When I returned it they tried to say it had been damaged with rough treatment and hard wear. Simply not true. I requested a replacement as I didn't trust the watch I had but they refused and instead wanted to fix the watch and charge me. I didn't have confidence in the watch or company and told them to keep it. Junk, avoid.

Add 25% for import !!!!!!

Regardless of quality of watches - watch out for this ....... you will be liable for import charges via the carrier of up to 25% of the cost of the watch

Steinhart ocean black watch…

purchased a watch from steinhart turned up really fast but watch didn't work they wasn't answering emails so had to get paypal involved when they did answer the return wasn't the easiest they refunded my money minus 46 pounds which is disgusting as the watch was faulty so don't see why I'm paying the p&p they basically said oh well as there in Germany makes more difficult overall not a great experience and advise everyone else not to purchase from this company and look for uk company

The best quality watch for the price point!

I have just purchased my second watch an ocean 44 ceramic GMT, my first being an ocean one double green ceramic premium. These watches represent in my opinion the best value for money for a Swiss watch with an excellent Swiss calibre, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezels. The built quality is superb and just ooze class with high quality finishing. They have to be the most accurate watches I own with a +3 to +5 second a day accuracy well within COSC certification. Unashamedly they are rolex homages but in Australia a twenty sixth of the price. The bands also exude quality, with a precise quality feel of a band 10 times the price. Of course rolex owners hate Steinhart and the majority of badly written grammatically childish bad reviews would undoubtedly have originated from these people who are in the minority! Beyond any shadow of a doubt one the best quality Swiss watch available and it’s unbelievable how they can produce such a superlative quality watch for such a reasonable price. I have never been so impressed by the craftsmanship and price point of a watch and I have been a watch enthusiast for 50 years. Have nothing but highest praise and recommendation for Steinhart watches. Buy one and I guarantee it would be impossible to be disappointed. Even the shipping is ridiculously cheap and my watch arrived in Australia in just just over a week, unheard of speed!

Excellent Quality watches, Fast delivery

After a 2 month market research for my first entry level diver watch I bought the Ocean One Titanium Premium 500. I can confirm that Steinhart is BY FAR the best option out there for the price you pay. Excellent quality watches, their mechanical movement is really accurate for the value you pay!

Excellent products and customer service

I couldn't be more happy with both the products (currently a 6 years old Ocean One Titanium 500), and the excellent customer service.
It's every bit as good quality as my Omega Seamaster 300M.

I see other people have had bad experiences with aftersale support, but my recent experience, in may 2022, was faultless. Steinhart sent me a FedEx slip, I sent my watch for repair, they fixed it much cheaper than my local watchmaker, and they sent it back.
Highly recommended

DO NOT purchase this brand

DO NOT purchase this brand , it's held together with cheap glue and you will be lucky to get two years of a working product. Customer service is broken, yes please send us back the watch and do these tasks perfectly via FED-EX. If not we cannot guarantee you will get your watch back, REALLY. NEVER AGAIN

Why would anyone not give 5 stars to…

Why would anyone not give 5 stars to these guys. Had my watch in 3 days from order. Keeps great time and has an incredible build for the investment. Have an Omega Seamaster and honestly the Ocean is just as nice in my opinion. I mean the name stands out but for function these guys have it down. Keep it up and don't think twice about buying a Steinhart.

I have bought 2 watches from Steinhart:
The Ocean One 500 Titanium Premium. And I was amazed by the built quality.
After 15 days started to lose more and more time, until it losed 20 seconds a day. Not well for a Swiss Made timekeeper. After that I got it regulated at my expenses and I have upgraded it to SW300 Top Grade myself, swapping the movement.

Last week I bought the Ocean One 39 Black Ceramic. Received it in 2 days! And this is an amazing watch also. Great unboxing experience like always Steinhart has.
So far the watch loses 3 seconds on the timegrapher and has 290 degree of amplitude, with 0,0 beat error (amazing). Lets see in 30 days. I will do another test.
Just a little problem with the screws of the bracelet which have been closed by The Hulk, apparently, and I broke even my Bergeon screwdriver and the screw heads themselves, ruining a bit the unboxing experience of a watch that apparently was perfect at the first glance.
This are details that can and cannot be acceptable in a 500€ watch range but the value for money for this watch is so high, that I am not planning to be so picky. I can forgive them. This is not a very bad detail.
The cyclop is well aligned, there is no dirt in the dial, and the bezel does not have backplay. And is not too hard even. This seems a legit great watch for your money. Definitely a keeper.

The customer service promptly said they will ship 5 spare screw bars for the bracelet, to my address. And they said they do not want payments for that (I can pay 10 bucks not a problem, after all they are just screws). That is a good point for them.

Good for that Steinhart! 5 stars when I receive the screw and after the 30 days test of the watch performance. Hopefully everything goes right! Because honestly this is a 4,5 star review, not only 4.

UPDATE OF THE DAY AFTER: Steinhart even agreed helped me to solve another problem on the watch at their expenses. A problem relative to an invisible scratch that bothers me on the ceramic bezel. A perfectly straight side to side of the ceramic insert scratch. Since its ceramic its very hard to scratch, especially in that way, so they thought that probably was a defect since the birth of the watch, (and probably it is, because I do not wear diamonds and I had the watch for less than 6 hours on the wrist). They answered the mail, the phone and their attitude is extremely polite (if you are kind with them of course, and not rude like many are). They really love to do what they do, look like, and they don’t care about having loss some money but they care about the customer. Of course this depends from assistant to assistant and from one day to another, but my experience with Steinhart was extremely nice. Be polite with them, explain your problem if you have it, send pictures without making questions, and they will solve it.
Remember that PERFECTION does NOT exist even on a ROLEX. I had 2 on my wrist and I could notice problems on the cyclop, on the bezel, on the hour markers… and even on consistency of Superluminova. Those defect make your watch unique. Is just the scratch that is annoying 🤣.
I will definitely buy also the Green Ocean One that I like so much 😍 from their site. The experience with them has been very good and I am happy about having a good company that sell many good watches at this price with good customer support.

Very good after sales service

I am a bit confused reading the bad reviews here regarding poor after sales service from Steinhart. I do not question their authenticity, however I have a recent positive experience and I would like to compliment their customer service on this. My 12 year old FliegerUhr suddenly stopped working. I contacted after sales via email and asked for a quote on price for repair. They replied with an email giving instructions to send the watch to Germany and the watchmaker will give me answer on this. The watch was picked up and delivered to Steinhart by FedEx the next day.

Within two weeks I received the watch back again from Germany. Repaired, cleaned, in a new watchbox and with an pro forma invoice where it stated - no payment required -

I was happily surprised by the level of customer service from Steinhart. I am sorry other people had bad experiences with them. I have certainly not.
