Went through on my card,

Shocking service, as others have expressed, there is no speed in speedy. lack of communication and they do not meet promised delivery times. AVOID. I've been waiting nearly a whole week now and have been promised 3 different delivery dates.

The name “Speedy” is a joke. I ordered ladders on 19 Aug 2025 for a 1-week hire. What I got was chaos, lies, and zero professionalism:
• 20 Aug – Promised delivery. Never showed.
• 21 Aug – Promised again. Never showed. No callbacks despite promises.
• 22 Aug – Finally delivered, 3 days late.
The nightmare continued: despite over 20 calls from me chasing them, they left the ladders nearly a month before finally collecting on 15 Sept. Every call was the same — promises, lies, and no action.
Unreliable. Unprofessional. Time-wasting. If you value your time or sanity, avoid this company at all costs.

Poor customer service all round. I ordered a builders skip which first of all did not turn up when requested. Response was “Don’t worry it’ll be there tomorrow!” I ordered on the day I needed it. Was also told I would be the first job the following morning stand it did not turn up until mid afternoon. It had been out sourced to another firm Abacus who did not deliver a skip that was the advertised size. On questioning the size I have basically been told that I’ve got what I have got and they are going to do nothing about it.

Do not hire from this company. Shocking and unreliable service. Ordered an access tower providing 7 days notice. No delivery, no phone call no nothing. Speedy (when they eventually answered the phone) advised the local branch did not have the access tower so they needed to collect from another branch. Where was the phone call guys? Consequently our client unhappy with us as a one day repair now extends to a further day due to the incompetance of Speedy. This is one of many examples I can provide. No more....

“Speedy” is the last word I would use to describe this service. Instead of next-day delivery as advertised, I was offered delivery five days later.
The most disappointing part was the customer service. In particular, advisor Georgia was unhelpful and gave false information — telling me yesterday that delivery would be on Friday. I spent the whole day chasing it myself, only to be told there was nothing she could do.
This is not reliable, not professional, and certainly not “speedy.” I will not be using this service again.

A really terrible service. Hired an AC unit, wasn't effective so called the Gloucester branch to ask how the charges work. Was advised that if I return within 48 hours then I'd only be charged for the time I had it. One hour return journey to return it within 48 hours and they've charged me for a week.
Was told to email accounts team and they'd sort it. But just met with short emails saying it's a minimum week hire so nothing they can do, I've repeatedly explained what I was advised, and why wouldn't I just keep it for a week if I knew that would be the charge?? No empathy or understanding from various staff. Stay clear of them would be my recommendation!

I order a carpet cleaner at B&Q Edinburgh at the end of May for a week for my daughter to clean a flat for end of tenancy. I was delivered by Speedy hire Glasgow. As soon as my daughter started to use it she realised it was unusable as the nozzle at the end of the spray hose was broken. We both tried to to contact speedy to get a replacement without success . Sending various email and phone call. All the customer service people appear to be away . We spoke to someone at the depot on the Friday but got not replacement or return call I got a lend of a carpet cleaner from a friend to do the job . They did collect the cleaner as planned on the Tuesday and apologised. But no refund forthcoming coming

An absolutely awful service from Speedy Hire, ordered a sander via B&Q for weekend hire, it did not work, I had over 10 calls with their customer services team (who were apologetic) and calls with the local depot, waited in for 2 days to receive replacement which never turned up. Both the floor sander and the RCD were supplied faulty despite having a confirmation that the product had been tested. Finally I was told that I would need to speak to B&Q for refunds.

Booked a 12yd skip and road permit online, Speedy Hire took the funds from my bank account but their online system failed to process my request. Two phone calls to the customer service (that’s a joke in itself), has so far yielded zero response, in fact the two operatives I spoke to both sounded disinterested and one of them was yawning during the call. Three emails unanswered. What’s hugely disappointing is the fact that I have used Speedy for skip hire previously and couldn’t fault them, but this experience has been nothing short of a disgrace. It will be interesting to see if they respond in the next day or two, otherwise it will be dispute with the bank and possibly action through the courts to recover funds taken without providing the service requested. One to avoid in the future for sure!

I hired a garden tool via B and Q, which was delivered by Speedy Hire ( late).
It was faulty. When I called the relevant customer service number, I was told that all the technical support were busy and someone would call me back. They never did- I called 3 times. I was told all technicians were busy. So I guess my call and issue was of the lowest priority!
I told them to collect the tool. It wasn’t used as faulty so I wanted it collected and get refunded. This was meant to happen on Monday. It’s still sitting by my front door, Tuesday night.
Horrible service! DO NOT HIRE from B & Q, it comes from Speedy Hire. Both Speedy Hire and B&Q are at fault.

Called up, spoke to a friendly lady called Sharon, alarm signals became a parent when she couldn’t give me any prices whatsoever and told me I’d have to speak to a branch that was near my address. Sounds a bit like a franchise even though she told me it wasn’t. Was transferred through to my local depot. Richard answered, Very cagey. Told me to give me a price I’d have to make an account? What kind of company is this? LOL? I don’t want to make an account. I said I want to hire equipment and know the prices. He said without an account we can’t give you an exact price. It’ll have to be a rough price? I hung up. Avoid this company. A reputable company is transparent. It has all its prices transparently printed on the website. A dodgy company keeps his price is hidden and charges people more than other people for prosperous reasons. I should’ve just gone to Tesco where they hire carpet cleaners without all this rubbish.

Terrible experience with Speedyhire and their fleet management team. One of their employees crashed into my car knowingly and drove off without leaving any details, writing it off. Luckily I had a witness. They were so unresponsive and never contacted me when they said they would. The Park Royal (London) fleet didn’t even apologise when I phoned them - very disappointed. I just kept being told on the phone that they cared about their reputation, which is ironic!

Please be were off this company especially the one in Manchester Ardwick store they’re very unprofessional especially when it comes to to the refund I hired a tool on Friday evening around 4 pm and I asked at the counter that I would like to to return it Saturday as I will finish the job during Friday evening .
They told me that are closed in weekends and I said ok but I don’t want to be charged for extra days I was told no you will be charged for one day as long as you bring it in Monday before they close I said ok Monday I will bring it around 4pm
every thing was ok till i return the item on Monday at 4pm and they only refunded me £173.39
Instead off £200 I asked the lady why I’m getting refunded less than actual deposit she said oh I don’t know I will check she went and comes back with the answer that it’s been a mistake with the refund she will contact the customer service and I. 3 days she will call me to let me know and refund my money it passed 1 week nobody calls me  I called them and was told is still on the process 2 weeks later I wrote to customer service and jak started responding me weird questions 
Like once he told me you kept it for over then one day as weekend was close and wasn’t my fault I couldn’t return it 😂😂 then he come back with different answers that Monday my payment was take on 15:50 and after 15 minutes I received the machine to take it
he’s saying to me I returned on Monday 16:15 which I was there before 4 and I had to wait for someone to be seen after 15 min and he told me I was charged for 2 day this is a ripoff completely I feel he has stolen my money never ever in my life use this company again
