It’s my first month with a skipton mortgage but so far they have been amazing - and the welcome package was a joyful surprise.

Poor information provided. Suggest staff training.

new app is a backwards step, I tried to make a withdrawal online using my PC, was asked to enter a secure code - So went to the app.
Only I couldn't find the secure code Function, apparently it has been removed!

So contacted Skipton Chat (new app help). Only to be told "No, as you would need the secure passcode, we are discontinuing this and the website." So according to the webchat - you will need to use the app to access your accounts .
I was advised by the webchat, 'we are discontinuing this and the website'
Like many I prefer to see things on the big screen, easy to see all the accounts on offer and read the t&cs

Been a customer for over 30 years, but will be closing my savings accounts to a building society that still allows you to do things on the PC.
Never had any hassle up until now.

Skipton as a building society and their staff are great, cannot fault them, however, I was encouraged by Skipton to download their new app. I am extremely disappointed with it, display, at least on my ipad are very small and the information displayed and available seems less than the previous app. I wish I had'nt changed.

It’s the little things that matter, I love getting my little card in the post from Skipton and I’ve never had any issues.

Skipton are efficient and helpful. In the years I’ve been with them I’ve only required help once and Jess was super helpful and resolved the issue quickly.

From start to finish, the communication was excellent. Everything was explained clearly, and I always felt kept up to date throughout the whole mortgage process.

Spent over an hour going round in circles trying to urgently withdraw my cash. The app & online account, each referring me back to the other & no way out. I only withdraw cash a couple of times a year but it seems to go back to this default 'computer says no!' status every time.
Unhelpful person on phone twice told me to visit a branch (I live in Cornwall) or could send me a cheque! Close to tears with frustration, I finally got help with another (very helpful) different person who sorted it for me. God help pensioners who are not tech savvy or don't have a phone. So I withdrew my life savings today.... going to a more user friendly bank

Really helpful customer service experience and a quick telephone call response - I'd use them just for that!

Just opened an account with Skipton, started the process online and visited their Holborn Branch in London to process my ID. The staff were friendly, fast and efficient. Also a really nice modern, clean and comfy premises. Have already deposited funds into one of their savings accounts...

I had been avoiding this job, withdrawing from my ISA and closing the account down, thinking that it would be long-winded and difficult, but it was done within minutes. Really pleased with the experience!
