Great service and Car
Pick up and return from Dubrovnik Airport- the desk was easy to find, not too much a wait, helpful and friendly staff. We had a really great car - way better than what we’d booked. Only slight downside was unexpected cost for taking the car on the ferry. We were expecting additional driver and cross border costs though.
Return process was very fast and easy. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely use SIXT again
I collected a vehicle at Glasgow…
I collected a vehicle at Glasgow airport where the vehicle had a tear in it. I photographed it and uploaded to their site before driving off. Upon return, a member of staff saw the damage and checked the report and was satisfied that I had reported it. Now Sixt are retrospectively trying to bill me for a tyre and a £50 admin fee. Be careful if using this company, they will try to bill you for something which is their fault.
Perfect booking
Everything from using app to book, check in and collection and return was quick, easy all information was provided…and all face to face contact was friendly and helpful
Great Staff & Service
I've used Sixt a few times now and they've always been good. My latest rental was at Verona Airport and the staff and service were excellent.
I didn't have to queue, the car was all ready and the staff were very helpful, even coming out to the car to help me find the boot release button (well hidden on this particular car).
Not always the cheapest but worth a little extra for the good service.
The car was clean, tidy and reliable which was great also.

1st I changed the date and was asked to pay £35 more, the new vehicle was confirmed on arrival they did not have the vehicle and only one for £59 more, if you cancel with them you have to pay £99, so they leave you in a position where you have to pay the extra or loose money.
just spoke to customer service and they say I signed which mean I agree to the higher price, but if you cancel you loose £99, this is placing the client in an impossible position. I used Arnold Clark 2 days later, fantastic service and no hidden fees
BUYER BEWARE
BUYER BEWARE - SIXT at Tivat airport will lie directly to your face in order to pressure and harass you into purchasing additional insurance.
I purchased independent 3rd party excess insurance for this exact purpose, however the SIXT representative at Tivat refused to let me take the hire without purchasing their additional policy despite me telling him multiple times that i already had my own 3rd party policy. He said that i was not allowed to take the car unless i purchased at least their basic policy (clearly working on commission given the harassment). In the end i had to buy it against my will as i needed the car.
Looking online at others' experiences at Tivat, this is not an isolated case. They will blatantly lie, pressure and harass you into purchasing their insurance and tell you that you cannot take the car otherwise.
It is not a legal requirement for this additional policy to be taken out, i was fully aware of my liability for excess in the event of any damage. Hence my purchase of a 3rd party excess insurance cover.
This is absolutely disgusting behaviour from a company that is supposed to be reputable. If you hire from here, be forewarned and stand your ground.

Three days before collection, Sixt cancelled my chosen pickup branch and moved it 40 miles away with virtually no notice. Their solution was to reimburse a train ticket while ignoring the extra time, fuel, mileage and inconvenience their decision caused.
To make matters worse, equivalent rentals from the new location were cheaper than the booking I'd already paid for, yet they refused any discount or goodwill gesture. My only options were to accept a significantly worse service or cancel.
Things go wrong, but this is a poor way to treat customers. I won't be using Sixt again.
Great cars misleading information?
The car which we rented was great our advisor upgraded us when I complained I felt that the car we had booked had a very small engine.
I did however feel that the car's engine size should have been on the booking form allowing me to make an informed decision about which car to take on the motorways in Scotland.
Having said that the car was easy to collect and drop off I would still recommend this firm it wasn't expensive for a brand new vehicle- so I would definitely use sixt again but I would check what size engine I was buying!

Had a hellish experince with your competitor eurocar despite being a long standing customer the customer service I experienced was terrible, I was extremely delayed because of this, thankfully I found the lovely Adam and his colleague from London Liverpool Street brach an they completely restored my faith in humans and brighten my bad day, your very lucky to have them both!
Misleading insurance
First, credit where due-the car was clean and drove well, and the staff at pick-up and drop-off were friendly. Sadly that is the end of the good news.
I deliberately paid extra for “Tyre & Windscreen Protection,” assuming it would cover damage to the wheels and tyres. While that may seem obvious, it doesn’t. I was charged £260 for two scuffed alloy rims, damage that SIXT’s own damage report filed under the “Tyres” category, and was still told it wasn’t covered because they treat the alloy as somehow separate from the tyre sitting on it. So you can buy a product called “Tyre Protection,” have damage logged as a tyre, and still be made to pay in full. On top of that came a £20 admin fee for the privilege.
Selling cover under a name that doesn’t match what it actually protects is misleading, plain and simple, and the explanation only arrived after I’d queried it. The good car and pleasant staff don’t make up for being charged for something I’d specifically insured against. I won’t rent from SIXT again, and I’d tell anyone to assume their “protection” products cover far less than the name suggests.
Basel Airport Switzerland.
My wife and I booked a holiday in Switzerland for a week, we decided to hire a car so we could travel to various places of interest.I eventually chose SIXT as they had the lowest deposit price and car hire cost, it was booked and paid for in advance online through their website.Collection of the vehicle was very easy we were seen to straight away,an upgrade to a Mercedes was offered as the vehicle we booked was unavailable at no extra cost.I took out the full cover insurance to avoid any large fees in the event of damage or an accident which was very reasonably priced.On the day that we had planned to return the vehicle we decided to book it for another 2 days which SIXT took care of straight away the assistant was very helpful and polite.I returned the car with a full tank of petrol as requested we received our deposit in a couple of days,all in all a very joyful experience.

Excellent service. Hired from Stansted airport. Efficient and cheerful despite issues with the computer system and the car originally allocated not being in the compound. Daytime drop off equally efficient and friendly.
fraudulent money taken
car returned early with a full tank and no damage. 3 weeks later I get charged 123 euro for a 'late return' when I returned a day early. This is fraud and the customer care team were useless and could not provide the evidence to support the charge

I hired a car from SIXT in June whilst visiting relatives in Jersey. The car was excellent and the nicest car I have ever driven. Clean and tidy and went really well, not that you can go fast in Jersey anyway. The check in was super quick and I didn't have to provide proof of my booking only me driving licence and credit card. Couldn't fault it and would highly recommend.

Clear choice of insurance level and cost. Compared to many car hire companies where you have to make sure of the insurance and excess amount at the desk on pick up. Sixt it's clear when you book online.

Free upgrade, clean and comfortable car
Rent the car for business purposes. First time hiring a car ever and it was a great experience:)Shout out to the reception at Birmingham New Street Station, super helpful and gave clear instructions and support throughout the trip. Even got my car free upgraded! Generally speaking it was a very good experience except they can do better with transparent pricing (the final price is 20% VAT exclusive although the initial online quotation says it was VAT inclusive!) but it is fine as the cost is reimbursed by my company but I would suggest people to double check with the staff to make sure the hiring cost works with their budget.
SIXT at Figari Airport a Disaster
SIXT in Corsica is a disaster. Given an electric car despite asking for petrol engine. Vehicle provided was completely different to car to that specified on rental agreement with different licence plates. The amount charged was €50 more than the price quoted. On return, they tried to claim for a scratch which was not mentioned at the point of handover - this is a very common complaint from other clients across social media. When I called to complain, I was cut off twice. Having spent 20 mins on hold, you eventually give up. DON'T BOOK with SIXT at Figari Airport if you want an honest and efficient rental car service.
Totally unsupportive
Totally unsupportive, when an extension of our 2 week car hire was required, after a vehicle accident.
Inability to arrange, despite 1 hour via whatsapp with various 'handlers' .. - insisting a redelivery of the vehicle, or appearing at their desk in France, (6.5 hours away), until we asked for a 'station' closer to us, in Girona, where the very helpful young man completed in less than 5 minutes, without our signature or a creditcard.
Will never be requesting their 'services' again, made our break hugely stressful.

We hired their car in groups and caused a scratch. These people were already having our deposit already.
We agreed to pay for the repairs for the scratch but these company will try to charge you 3x the price and their communication skills is very poor especially when you are of color.
