This is the first coach tour we have been on and I had quite a few questions which were answered fully by Sam. The booking experience was very smooth and straightforward and we are looking forward to our holiday next year.

This was our first Shearings trip and we were impressed with the standard of coaches and having alcoholic drinks on board! Marco, our coach driver was attentive with a great sense of humour. However it did take us 12 hours to get to Rouen which I didn't expect and the hotel was very basic. Having said that breakfast was lovely and was constantly being replenished. The real problem was the
Iift as there was only one and only held 4 people, the button panel in the lift was hanging off which resulted in the lift getting stuck on floors. I would do another trip though as the destinations were great.

Booking on the phone with Shearings is easy as I don't like Booking online always have a good holiday also with Leger only some of the hotels are a bit naff ( UK and Europe) but 70% are fine but saying that I've used the companies for over 20yrs

Although l have no doubt the holidays are very good, do not use their insurance through Asua they will not even give me my deposit back even though my husband had a severe fall prior to our departure and was in too much pain to go. I was not able to cancel within the time limit but a good will gesture of deposit would have been good. Will not use in future only take out a separate policy if your going with them.

just had a 4 day coach holiday with friends, to Hotel Awe in Scotland, please do not waste you money on this hotel stay eleswhere. For what we paid, which was not cheap, the food, accommodation, staff, it was a horrible experiance, small bland tasteless portions, small dated wall paper peeling rooms, unsupervised clueless waiting on staff, and a lack of managerial skills. Coach journey good, driver Pat, very good, lovely scenery, dire disgusting Hotel, if you have paid a deposit on this Hotel from Lochs & Glens cancel.

I rated the recent holiday to Northumberland, 5 star...first and foremost, because of the Tour Guide,David..nothing was too much trouble, he was extremely pleasant (not always easy,on these types of holidays)..his knowledge of the area, was excellent... and his care and consideration, for everyone and everything.and attention to detail ..was there..from start to finish...
ALSO the Hotel ..Leonardo, Newcastle( and all the staff,)was very excellent too..
Making it a very, very, pleasant week in Northumberland ...

Palace of Versailles/Monet Gdns two day trip, fantastic and would thoroughly recommend. Hotel was lovely. Neil and Steve are an asset to Red Rose Travel/Shearings, they made the trips fun, were informative and it wouldn't have been the same without them I don't think. This trip is a must!

route 500 with Shearings was our first experience and probably our last. Our first hotel in Newcastle the room was awful as it smelt strongly of sewage, we requested another room; the cold water bath tap did not work in that room. Second hotel in Grantown-on-Spey left a lot to be desired. The bathroom was about 4ft by 3ft with a tiny old fashion shower cubicle and no basin. The basin was in the middle of the bedroom so we had to go backwards and forwards for towels. Hotel in Ullapool was probably the best. As for the hotel in Thurso, I cannot begin to describe it, how a holiday company thought that it would be appropriate to book their customers in this hotel is beyond comprehension. The food was not good and in the end we gave up and found a local restaurant. I cannot eat diary and specified that I only have soya milk when I booked however, at this hotel when I asked for soya milk the reply was they could not find any (there is a Tesco store 5 minutes walk away). I only eat a continental breakfast however, there was nothing there available so no breakfast that day.
Our coach driver was excellent but obviously not a tour guide therefore we had no information at all regarding the places we visited.
What do I think of Shearings' choice of Scottish hotels, I would rather not say but suffice to say that customers expect as good as home or better.
Route 500 was amazing and the lunch at Smoo Cave Hotel was lovely with the staff really attentive.

Andorra is beautiful with stunning scenery. Our hotel The President was very clean, meals were plentiful and great variety ,buffet style. Our double room was actually a triple with fridge and a safe ,but I think you had to pay for a key to the safe. And it also had balcony,it was facing the busy main road but we weren't disturbed by noise. Excursions were amazing with our lovely guide Ava. Two excellent drivers, Jim who drove up the Pyrenees in thick fog and Darryl who calmly navigated a very busy Paris. 7 day holiday with overnight Hotels in Paris. . 2 full days travelling both going and returning. Late arrival at overnight hotels and very early get ups for onward journey. The return hotel (Charles de gaulle airport)was very noisy with guests slamming doors till gone midnight.Returned home shattered,we will never book a holiday with overnight hotels again.

Day 1 Surprised to go to Rugby on a tour that is taking place north of where we live. However the hotel was good and the food superb
Dy 2 Some direction to the Museum would be useful and a less than 3.5 hour stop in Perth would have allowed for a more leisurely preparation for dinner. Hotel reasonable apart from the step up to the bathroom
Day 3 Journey to Poolewe and Grunard Bay was lovely but it could have been enhanced by a stop at the large garden centre on the edge of the village with a cafe and toilets. It is within easy reach of the beach and viewpoint for those who wanted it. Ullapool hotel again reasonable
Day4/5 Lunch stop was very pleasant but the substitute hotel at Thurso was dreadful. Apparently some locals were unaware it was open after a long shutdown, and I am sure most of the passengers would have happier had it remained closed. The food was absolutely awful on the first evening but was acceptable on the following night. The rooms left much to be desired. The flush on the garish lemon bathroom suite required 3 pushes to make it flush. In front of the toilet was a large dip where the floor seemed in danger of giving way and the room lacked enough space for the cases with the window sill the only space to be able to open one. Also by this time many passengers could not stomach a choice of chicken, fish or pasta and did not eat at the hotel. Thurso had just about enough to fill a day and the driver certainly deserved the rest.
Day 6 The journey was again scenic but a little too long at the castle
Day 7 Dinner at the hotel not as good as the previous week
Day 8 Would an earlier start have avoided the worst of the Friday traffic on the M6?
This was our first tour with Shearings and its fair to say it has not endeared us to the company. The driver deserves to be commended for the amount of work he got through but should he not have been accompanied by a courier, to provide drinks and give information on the journey?
We appreciate that food choices will be determined by cost but given more thought by the hotels, I am sure a little more variety of choice would have been possible.
Once on the NC500, the route taken was superb. Would that the rest of the holiday could have been as well worked out
