I’ve been with Sharesies for a few years now, as a newbie I find it really easy to use and great for investing small amounts at a time. I also have an account for my son, it’s cool to watch his balance grow and be able to use it as a learning tool while he is young (and while I’m learning as well!). I find the customer service team really responsive and friendly, and like the educational advice through the blogs and lunch money sessions. I think the fees are reasonable, and I’ve never had trouble loading or withdrawing funds. Chur Sharesies!

I have been using Sharesies and 2 other platforms for over a year now. Sharesies is the best hands down. Fast and has most of the stocks I need and if I question them about certain stocks there is a genuine reason (penny stocks) why it isn't listed. Their customer service CHAT is also outstanding and they respond very quickly. I have cashed in some stocks and this service was easy to follow and money drawn down didn't take long at all. Love the lunchtime money talks too, very informative. Excellent platform and service.

I signed up for Sharesies during lockdown last year and absolutely love it. I have NZ and US shares and have found the app super easy to use. I had no knowledge of share platforms or investing when I started, but it guides you through and explains the process in a way that is straightforward and simple to understand.

Their customer service is prompt and upbeat, too.

Keep it up, Sharesies! Amped to have access to Aussie shares soon.

Felt a bit overwhelmed at first but the platform is simple and straight forward and made it easy for me to buy shares when I thought it would be scary.

A mixture of two languages that you can't turn off, poor customer service emails with wrong information that is scattered with emoticons like smiley faces, thumbs up and pineapples, and not a true trading platform (you don't own your shares).

Cheap and they provide a great democratic way to get in to the stock market.

It’s pretty difficult to recommend Sharesies after having used it for about six months. Sharesies manipulated the market for its users by restricting and completely blocking trading in stocks with no advanced notice.

While I was happy with the service to begin with, I’d be very careful about putting any money into the market through Sharesies - they very clearly don’t have their customers interests at heart, rather seeing you as a means to an end.

Disappointing.

Impossible to get a hold of, they send generic responses. They have now chosen to restrict the option of buying GME stocks as of today. Very disappointed and I'll be looking to switch trading apps after this. Do not use sharesies. Orders would get delayed when purchasing stocks. Took me over two hours to buy AMC stock last night. Unacceptable.

Website is slow, orders get stuck and it can take over 1 1/2 hour for a cancel order to be actioned. This all costs you money. Their customer service is what you would expect if you went back to 1980, so not fit for purpose. They can take days to respond and often don't give a satisfactory response anyway. If there were more competition in NZ, I think they would lose business which would force them to up their game. Think maybe its just about owners generating an easy income for themselves and they don't really care about the customer experience at all, or if they cause you to lose money.

They say to never attribute to malevolence what can be explained by incompetence. Does Sharesies not resubmit an order when there is a market hold and require you to manually do so several times, without providing any email alert when an order is rejected or notification when the market for a stock is on hold to help out Melvin and their pals? Or is it because it’s a platform designed for your grandmother, by your grandmother? We’ll never know, but it’s terrible.

As retail investors find a loophole with the $GME stock, mass purchase the $AMC stock and more. Sharesies then limits the ability to purchase this stock. Therefore manipulating the market, bad app, bad company morals. Don't give these corporate shills your money!

Like many other reviews, their customer service is appalling. When talking about the stock market, a few hours could mean a lot of money. These people take days to reply!
