Was great at the beginning, now that they have my money, fees have skyrocketed, eating up any potential gains.
Dont give sharsies your money
Never give sharsies any of you're money. I started a long term portfolio. Did all their KYC. Supposedly at some point they had to do more KYC and I missed their emails and 1 phone call. SO they liquidated my entire portfolio at lower prices. (got my cash back in the end) Moral of the story is never give your money to these companies. they own it then and can do what they want.

very very poor customer service i am still waiting for a query i lodged months ago, and you cannot call them, never experienced such a poor customer service. i am about to lodge a complaint

I invested into Sharesies about 2 years ago. Since then I have not been able to check the account, despite using the “forgot password” function, each time with no response.
In October 2022, I received an email saying my account would be cancelled unless I signed in again.
I have emailed the so-called “help” function 7 times since October 2022 to sort out this issue with no response whatsoever.
There is no option to call them to rectify the situation either.
I feel like I’ve been robbed
Super slow reply
Super slow reply, service is so poor, nobody care of you.
Not recommend at all
Not recommend at all , look chep trading rates but their service is very slow so end of the day you will loose money, Customer service people also not helpful
Ten requests to open up a kids account…
Ten requests to open up a kids account with a certified passport. First they said, passport has to be a scan, not a photo, then required certifier has to hand write the certification paragraph by hand in addition to signing, then they said the lawyers practicing certificate expired, then when I had it certified by a chartered accountant, they asked me to Cc the certifier. More requirements than submitting a certified document for offical government purposes. All this for a kids account? Would encourage staff to take an 80/20 approach and consider risk in greater scheme of things, rather than faff around and upset customers
Ignore the negative reviews
Ignore the negative reviews. As someone who trades a lot on both sharesies and Commsec, I think Sharesies is a great platform. Do you get all the features you do on Commsec? No! But your trading fees are significantly lower. Love that whenever I make a withdrawal it’s in my account within 24 hours and have contacted support a few times with great service and follow up.
People who complain are expecting an Emirates flight on Jetstar.
Very good site for beginners and/or…
Very good site for beginners and/or people with small amounts to invest. I feel a lot of the negative reviews are from people expecting day trading and full trading experiences, sharesies isn't about that. Hence why its good value for the little guys. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is due to its very basic interface for seeing and organising your results and portfolio, I really wish they would improve that. However if you want to put a few dollars or even cents away a week and have access to many shares and funds its a great platform.
I've only been on Sharesies a couple of…
I've only been on Sharesies a couple of weeks. I am by no means a professional trader but I do know something isn't quite right with Sharesies. I don't really see the point of it. It doesn't provide financials for any of the companies it lists and it doesn't have real time results, which are pretty essential when trading. Even when you see they're taking money from your Sharesies account it isn't on your list of costings because there is none. I put in an amount and expect to see where each dollar is going, isn't that as customers the bare minimum requirement when using a service? Really disappointed. The pending on trades based in America is ridiculous, even I a beginner knows this. I'm searching for a platform where I can trade properly. New Zealand is seriously behind the times and if this is one of the best trading platforms and is trending on google, then we're screwed as traders. I'd rather lose my money on a trading platform who provides the correct tools to make informed decisions than on a website like this one. At the end of the day this is a service and it's pretty bad.

Was all going well until I tried to…
Was all going well until I tried to make a buy on a certain company and over a week later it had not gone through so I cancelled. It has now been over another week stuck in cancelling. Their help service offered no reason or timeframe over multiple times asking except to say there is a ‘Tech issue’. To have a conversation takes days on end as it takes at least a day to get a reply even though it says the operator is in NZ. Unfortunately I think I will have to make a complaint with the FSCL and hope I can get my money back. Lucky it wasn’t a huge sum but pretty scary and I would advise caution
They are keen to take your money but…
They are keen to take your money but when you try to withdraw money they make it as hard as possible. I have been trying to get my money from them for more than a week now. I have sent the screenshots of my accounts and given them my account info but they refuse to accept that.
Use another platform that is user friendly and allows you to withdraw your own money.
I believe I have all this wrong, a misunderstanding but fueled by a lack of explanation.
I was surprised that I was being charged 2.0% for currency exchange fees instead of their stated 0.4%. Trying to contact them is proving difficult and the site has closed down my account to withdraw my money.
Sharesies is Garbage
Sharesies doesn't provide a professional services.
Transparent platform
Transparent platform. Excellent range of equities and good help section. More reports would be good - some sort of export in a csv format so you can analyze your investments but apart from that still happy.

I have twice contacted Sharesies with questions as I live in Australia but have funds in NZ I want to invest. They haven't bothered to acknowledge my emails so I certainly wont be trusting them with my funds. Cheap isn't always best!
Refresh rate way to slow
Refresh rate way to slow. Why do you have to wait 20 minutes for the platform te refresh?

Sucks that they don't allow transfer of account; and custody of US shares is no guarantee that their US partner,Drivewealth, has actually 'bought' the shares that you purchase. There is massive illegal rehypothecation and price manipulation by hedge funds who create synthetic shares to short stocks. And Shateshies can't do a thing to help. They even restricted buying in January 2021 which has NEVER happened of
EVER.

They were too incompetent to verify my identity, suggesting that my face was not the same as the face on my driver license. Other platforms had no trouble.
