What happened RCCL? Previous cruises were great couldn't fault them. Fast forward to current ones not even on ship yet and issues started. Despite booking guaranteed room, I have been given... See more

We did a Japan Cruise on the Sprectrum on the Seas. One of our luggage was damaged, they were not able to fix the damage and offered us a 10% discount on our next cruise, as we had booked other holidays for next year they extended the duratation of the discount for 2 years. They said they would send a certificate out after our cruise. We received the certificate but was only £ value and not 10%. We replied back to the email over a month ago and not had a response
Avoid Avoid Avoid!
We took our parents, sibling and nephew as a special treat and had the worst experience ever! Broken luggage, daily trips to guest services which never resolved our problems. Issues with incorrect billing, cancelled excursions, violence on board!! Definitely not the Royal Caribbean of old .. avoid at all costs and find another cruise company!
I booked 2 rooms for a Royal Caribbean…
I booked 2 rooms for a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas. When I booked I inquired about drink & gratuity it ended up not what the rep told me.
1st issue I see is charging a gratuity fee & then again.36 percent overall$37 for a 4 year old kid to get a soda. $700 plus dollars of tips, 7 people for 3 days-real joke. Min wage in our area of the country is $15p/hr. We are paying for 66 hours of service. Very disappointed.
The other major disappointment is the gratuity & drinks costs more than the cruise.
I cannot wait to see what other money surprises i see onboard.

Went on my first cruise with RC with my 12 year old son...Very impressive on entering the ship but did not have a clue who to get to our room..never got our cases until 6.45pm so we were wandering about in our travel clothes..... Disappointing bars....too much karaoke in the main bar... After a few days it was mind numbing.... Most of the shows were fantastic Mama Mia and the water show etc ..but Bruno Mars was torture.
Be aware that when you dock for Rome and Pisa you are almost 2 hours on a bus each way...not worth the stress and hassle..... Food was quite good but waiters a bit annoying.....kids club was great (can't fault it). Take travel sickness pills ..they work... One last thing.. RBS Royal Bank of Scotland is not compatible with Royal Caribbean.. I had to use the cash machine to withdraw US dollars daily to pay my bills.....NOT GOOD ...
worst pre-cruise experience ever - doesn’t bode well for the cruise!
AVOID AVOID AVOID
Worst pre-cruise experience ever and this is my 23rd cruise!
Bid for a cabin upgrade for it to be cancelled as RCL changed my cabin. I bid again for the same thing to happen! Complained and was told “it won’t happen again” 7 times I went through this then discovered by accident that my original booking had been upgraded and when I bid for an upgrade they were downgrading my booking so I’ve ended up worse off than if I hadn’t bid at all!
They don’t even read their complaints just send an automated response thanking you for your custom!
I’ll be booking elsewhere in future!
We have not even taken our cruise yet…
We have not even taken our cruise yet and are already disappointed. VIP of Royal Caribbean stated that taking an elderly person is great for them. So when we found out that my sister who wanted a premium drink package had to pay for one for herself and my 89 yr old mother as well was absurd. Our mother has a dr.'s note that she can not drink. They refused to make any exceptions to the rule. Therefore my sister has to pay for 2 full premium drink packages. That does not even make sense and is not good customer service at all. I called Royal Caribbean, I chated, I tried everything and no budge. We're sorry they said, no exceptions to the rule any longer. We are not going a one of these huge ships. It's a small ship out of Tampa that most seniors go on and now they are making that unaffordable as well. Guess it's all about the money these days.
Don't bother if you are disabled
Don't bother if you are disabled. Gangways not suitable for disabled scooter I feel off mine because I had to get off to access the gangway.
Also very expensive for drinks and what you get.
Overpriced and Overcrowded
I went on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas on Wonder of the Seas. Large ship that was overcrowded. Tiny onboard pool with cloudy water. Hot tubs were choked with people. Difficult to find open deck chairs. The food was mediocre. Overall the ship felt dark. Long way to walk just to get water or a drink. Overpriced for what you got. Embarking from Miami was chaotic and stressful. I got charged $100 for towels that were returned and too ratty to steal.

Sadly Royal Caribbean is taking over as the Party Cruise Line, if you are looking for very loud screaming people, mostly Loud Rap Music, balconies that are difficult to enjoy unless you desire to get high simply by breathing the pot smoke filled air, smelling Pot every time you enter the hallway, I could go on, but you get the idea. We have been loyal Royal customers, but we need to look elsewhere, may try Celebrity, hoping for better. So disappointing, we report the pot issue, since it says no smoking at every room, and they say, do you have evidence, I say just breath, and they laugh and say, but where is it coming from. Hilarious.
False information when booking - My reservation number: 2149235
My reservation number: 2149235
I purchased my cruise because it listed Turks and Caicos as a port of call — a destination I have never visited and was very interested in.
After booking, I received an email stating that there had been an error and that Turks and Caicos was actually Haiti. Due to security issues, Haiti was then replaced with Nassau.
My point is that this was a mistake on your side, and I bought the cruise under false information. For this reason, I am requesting a refund, as the product I purchased is not what was advertised. Sadly, Royal Caribbean insists saying will not cancel my reservation without charging, so I lost my money.
MONEY MADNESS
We had a 9 day cruise on the Independence of the Seas in September, I cannot fault the ship, it was immaculate, the food was the best, and every one of the staff were brilliant and so helpful. On the second day we had a phone call to go to the accounts department, where they told us our bankcard has been refused and we couldn't use it,also the company had taken £76 out of my account for tips etc, which I complained about and they gave it back to me. For the rest of the trip we had no money at all,so couldn't buy anything not even a little gift for the family. It was a special holiday celebrating 60 years of my husband and I being together, we are disabled pensioners aged 75 and 76. I contacted Royal Carribbean when we got home and they will not do anything for us,they accepted our card when we booked, they turned a beautiful holiday into a disaster and we are both still so upset about it, we are never going on a cruise with them again.
Terrible Customer Support
The experience this past week with customer service has been one of the worst experiences I have had with a support team. I was on hold off and on for almost an hour, then told nothing could be done at their level and it needed to be escalated. I was told I would hear back within 24 - 48 hours, it ended up being 6 days later after following up, and then that team also was unwilling to help me with something that was misstated on Royal Caribbean's website.
Disrespectful
I always touch up girls on the dance floor and they touch back because we having fun and just messing about, but one night I dont even remember touching any girl and she complained then they kicked me off the ship with only my passport and a few belongings, they said my mum should carry all of my stuff. They forced me to buy an expensive flight and waste my money, there was also hair in my food multiple times in the canteen. This place is disgusting, they try to charge you almost £20 per person/per day for tips, it comes out of your account automatically, you have to go to reception to tell them to remove it. Don't go on a cruise ship! They dont respect you and they break the law constantly, they refuse to show me video evidence what i done. There is so many things they done that is despicable, they pulled me out of my room when I was drunk and checked my blood pressure, then put me back in a random room and confiscated my trainers and didn't shut my door, then they come in after a few hours just to turn on the lights and disturb me, this is all bullying and disrespectful.
PIRATES OF THE ROYAL CARIBBEAN
This will be our fourth cruise with Royal Caribbean in the last 10 years. The latest was'The Voyager of the Seas' in the Med. The one positive was the seamless organisation and service but this was heavily tainted by a cocktail of dreadfull experiences, echoed by many other passengers. I'm sorry to say this was a total ripp-off. It came as no surprise the number of passengers they crammed onto the ship contributed to many falling ill. The companies policy on tardy hygiene protocols was quite shocking. It became obvious they had a problem when they stopped self service everywhere because of hygiene. In the main 'Windjammer' food hall the sheer numbers of people became a joke. It became impossible to find a table and if you did the staff would hover over you, taking plates to free up for the next customers. You were constantly guarding your space and having a meal together was impossible because of the constant food shuttles and waiting to be served. Quality of food was poor with limited choice compared to previous cruises. It became obvious they were making economies and shortcuts to increase thier bottom line. They used disgusting synthetic cream on all the desserts for example. All geared up for PROFIT ! PROFIT! We tried to take advantage of the main dinning room and were marched to a table of 12 who were all related which was un-acceptable to us but it fell on deaf ears. The portions were so small with virtually no vegetables we walked away hungry. The price of drinks was also shocking on the ship, the cheapest bottle of wine was 29 euros plus additional taxes and levies. Classic case of captured market so fleece the customer. The quality of the wines was also very poor indeed and chosen for profiteering. WARNING! Beware of being overcharged for drinks or those you didnt purchase, always get a reciept. Everything is set up for maximum profit without consideration to the customer from excursions to internet packages. The company would strenously challenge all of this but we witnessed the complaints queue everyday at the customer service desk ! The rooms are looking tired and general furnishings throuhout the ship looking very tatty indeed. Sheer arrogance to think people are so stupid not to vote with their feet in future.
Would never sail with them again
Would never sail with them again! Come back ill and now they have held £700 of my money for 30days for no reason
POOR BOOKING PROCESS FOR ONBOARD SHOWS
We are going on the Star of the Seas in December and contacted Royal Caribbean to book the shows.
You speak to someone in Asia who is working from home and unable to help
Not what you expect when you are booking an expensive cruise.
Worst vacation I have ever had
Worst vacation I have ever had, the food was awful, the staff are horrible, and the boat was ridiculously expensive. The food at the specialty restaurants was cheap, not quality, and their “Chefs” were not very good. Royal Caribbean is not the experience they promise.
Customer Service
This review is not about the ship or it's workers.
We chose this Celebrity cruise specifically because of the 3 islands. However, they changed the itinerary, from Nassau Bahamas to Puerto Plata & Antigua to San Juan ( been here many times ) .
Anyways, very disappointed. I asked if in a gesture of goodwill they could somehow compensate.
Response : " compensation is not applicable or cannot be provided unless legally required " " we are unable to extend any form of compensation or additional gestures beyond our established policies."

Booked one trip and it was great experience, no doubt about it… just didn’t like that i fell into a marketing trick. I thought it was a last minute deal and thought I made the real deal. Then after I came back from the trip I saw they sell the same trip at a regular price for the same amount :(
We are currently on Independence of the…
We are currently on Independence of the Sea and there a few things that have put me off using this ship again. Firstly the ship is tired, in our cabin there is mold around the shower area, one of the cupboard doors is hanging off and the furniture and decor are dated, but the main issue is that our suite is below the fish and ships bar by the pool and our room permanently smells, it’s really not pleasant. Everything extra is expensive, drinks and specialty dining. Another issue is as a wheelchair user I can’t get in and out of our room on my own, somebody has to hold the door open, there is no way to keep the door open for you to get in, so my question is what do solo travelers do? Now to the good points, the food has been excellent a very good choice in the buffet. If you’ve been on a P&O cruise you’ll realise how bad P&O are. The staff go out of their way to help you and it’s always with a smile. Embarkation was a little slow and not very clear where people in wheelchairs should go.
