There’s a reason they’re legends in the game, and it’s not just because their label signed The Smiths. Always get my orders on time - if not before -, never had a single issue with my orders, absolute legends.

Keeping it real with Rough Trade

The RT website is well laid out and contains the CDs I am after at reasonable prices. Maybe not the cheapest on the market, but I would much rather a traditional UK company gets my business than one of the multinational mega corps! Post purchase updates were good and the CDs were delivered safely in a pretty bombproof cardboard mailer.

9.9/10 service!!

I love the selection on the website and everything they do for the music industry. I also love the deals they put up on great vinyls and the quality of the records that arrive. My only minor hiccup is that they can often take a wee while to get delivered to me, but other than that these guys are awesome

Didn't send record, no update

I ordered two records, one was a pre-order and the other was in stock at the time of ordering, and I was happy for them to be delivered together when the pre-order was released. However, when that happened I just received the one record, and got an automated email saying only part of my order was dispatched. That was over a month ago and I've had no updates, I have also sent some emails and tried the chat on the website, but I just got an automated response that 'my order has been delivered already' and they were closing the matter. This means currently I'm out of pocket, and the record which was in stock is no longer in stock at any other record shops either.

I think Rough Trade benefits from having a recognised brand, so they charge on average £5 more than other record shops for no reason, and then just have terrible customer service. I want at least a refund please (order number #4410195) if you can't be bothered to deliver the record I paid for 2 months ago.

Rough Trade are always my first choice for Vinyl.

Rough Trade are always my first port of call when there is a new album I want to add to my collection. Great communication, speedy and reliable delivery and they don’t use the dredded Evri which is alway a good sign in my book. I have also grown to trust their suggestions for new artists to listen to and have found some great music that way. Their special vinyl editions are cool too.

Angine De Potrine

I've been looking forward to receiving both AdeP albums after having been subjected to online promotional assault of senses since the Spring and kicking off with the KEXP set, I was hooked, love those freaks !

Superb vinyl record retailer

Superb vinyl record retailer. All records mailed in the thickest heaviest grade dedicated cardboard record mailers, which hold the record tightly and help to prevent damaged corners and seam splits. Any issues with the records supplied and the customer support is faultless too.

Album of the month subscription

I’m a subscriber to their album of the month. It’s a brilliantly curated set of new music- varied and always interesting. And if you hate it you can send it back and exchange for a different album!

Preorder

I placed a pre-order and it ended up being back ordered, but the team at RT was so proactive and had great communication. I really appreciate the attention to my experience!

Absolute shady business

I paid for a record on May 30th through Rough Trade’s newreleases.discogs storefront (confirmed) online that was initially supposed to ship on June 2nd, 2026. After a week and a half of no movement on my order I decided to reach out and inquire about its status. I sent multiple messages asking about the order and never recieved a response through their newreleases.discogs storefront. When I reached out via their direct website I was given an ai response, “powered by Intercom,” that gave me a boilerplate message saying that they’d sent the request to their “team.” After receive zero responses from an actual human being, I reached out again and received another AI response that my order dispatch date had been changed to June 14th, 2026. Fast forward to today, June 15, 2026, and lo and behold—shipment NOT dispatched. When I went through Rough Trade’s website to cancel the cancel button was stuck and would not let me process the cancellation. I had to reach out to Discogs directly, sent a message to the seller through Discogs, and send a message directly to this business for the order to finally be cancelled. The cherry on top was that despite never receiving and the request to cancel, I was offered store credit. I have a ticket opened with Discogs to get this settled and I hope they’re banned.

Exceptional Service

I cannot fault Rough Trade in the slightest and can only praise and hold them in the highest regard! I recently ordered a vinyl on their website and found out a day later it had literally just been discontinued in the UK - Sam at Rough Trade contacted me and assured me it would be sorted at no further expensive to myself, they liaised with their stores worldwide and located a copy albeit in the USA, Sam made this a priority and had it shipped over from the USA at no extra cost - it arrived at my door securely packaged within literally 3 days! I honestly cannot thank Sam & the Rough Trade team enough - i will 100% order from them again as they have customer satisfaction at the forefront! Thank you Sam & the Rough Trade team your commitment and customer service is excellent to say the very least!
Rough Trade is a will be my go to going forwards, and other companies could learn a great deal on service and customer satisfaction by taking a leaf out of Rough Trades books ❤️ James
