I've spent a bit of money with RockAuto over the last few years. Haven't had any problems with them until I had to return things. Their return service and failure to have a customer service line makes... See more

I have ordered parts here several…
I have ordered parts here several times. Soooo much cheaper than the parts store! Very satisfied so far!
Dead TPMS sensors, TWICE!
This is the second time they have shipped me TPMS sensors that are completely dead. You don't find out until after you install them though.
They shipped me three completely…
They shipped me three completely worthless struts. They are so noisy it feels like my front end is going to fall off I've had them installed by two different mechanics and now they want half of the price I paid for them to ship them back. I will never use them again and I will never recommend them to anybody
Worst place to order parts
Worst place to order parts. Zero customer service and they don’t have a phone number to call and talk to anyone. Part I ordered didn’t fit and they said I looked it up wrong. Not the case was a 2 pin plug for a front washer pump but was split between the pins. Had to email and go back and forth and they charged for return shipping still. Closed my case in the email and can’t get a hold of anyone there. POS place will never buy again or had my customer buy from here. Dog 💩 company!!
Rock Auto is my go to for parts
Rock Auto is my go to for parts. I can find everything for my SUV and the prices are a whole lot better than going to the parts store. Yes I do use a parts store if I can't order in time. Overall I am very happy with the service and timely delivery. I've been able to get my whole front end done without going to a shop other than getting the alignment done that's needed using Rock Auto for my parts. If you aren't familiar with your vehicle customer service is helpful.
Best prices, worst service
Yall got the best prices but your return policy can suck one. How does one send back an unopened box of parts and recieve less than half back on the parts. I would understand if I tried to install it but it didnt even leave the box it came in. You charge a reshelving fee and shipping and send the rest back like every other parts store.
Been ordering for years from Rockauto…
Been ordering for years from Rockauto with no issues. Never a problem with wrong parts unless it was me ordering them wrong. Today I placed an order 6 parts in cart. Paid for order and only have 4 items shipping. Went back online to see if others where out of stock which they where not. Would have to pay shipping again to order the same parts to ship from same location as the first 4 parts.
2 purchases 2 issues #1 ordered brake…
2 purchases 2 issues #1 ordered brake pads they never shipped had to buy from a local store, had them cancel it because they couldn't tell why they were not picked up? They issued a refund but a couple weeks later they shipped weeks after the cancellation and refund? Then they demanded I return something I didn't order or need? #2 ordered a water pump for a Cummins that arrived fast but the box was damaged, found a gouge on the pulley that could damage the serpentine Belt that cost over $100 for a diesel! We tried to contact them but the website just asked a bunch of questions like was it installed before discovery of damage? "no" was the box damaged? "Yes" was the Rock Auto tape intact? "Yes" Was item refused? "no because FedEx dropped it off and left couldn't refuse it" website response! Can't replace it has to be shipped back for a credit?????
Waste of time and money
Order number 341514661
Extremely disappointed with RockAuto.
I ordered a part that was clearly listed on their website as 100% compatible with my vehicle, but in reality it does not fit at all and cannot be installed. This is not a minor issue or installation error — it is simply the wrong part.
What’s even worse is their response. When I contacted support, they insisted that “according to their catalog, the part is correct,” and their solution was to offer a return — but at my own expense.
This kind of service is unacceptable. If you’re selling automotive parts, fitment accuracy is critical, not optional. Charging customers for returns when the part clearly doesn’t fit is completely unreasonable.
I would not recommend ordering from RockAuto unless you’re willing to risk your time, money, and frustration.
Rockauto misleads customers, sells parts that do not fit, refuses to refund the payment
Bought a "PRECISION TS108SA Authentic Reproduction" weatherstrip seal for a 1995 Corvette C4, but it did not fit. Not even close. Rockauto says that I bought the wrong part, because there is a Mexican flag on this listing which means that the part is only guaranteed to fit on cars sold on the Mexican market. Which is BS, because the rear hatch of the coupes (including the ZR1) did not change from 1984 to 1996. The page also links to a youtube video, which demonstrates installation on a 1993/1994 Corvette C4. So, Rockauto says that I am to blame for buying the wrong part. And they don't want to take it back, because it has been taken out of the packaging. Even when this would be relevant (it is not, the part is bad), the only way to find out that it does not fit is trying to install it. Very disappointed. Rockauto is misleading customers by adding a Mexican flag to avoid liability for a bad part, trying to sell something that does not fit on any car for which they are actually advertising it. This is not a business, but a scam operation.
Missing parts and missing weld
Ordered a flex pipe and two gaskets for my exhaust system. Flex pipe arrived but gaskets were missing. Had to wait to install until the gaskets came in. Once I had all the parts I installed it. But when I started the car there was a loud exhaust leak. Found that the flex pipe flange wasn’t welded correctly. I had to remove and have the pipe re-welded. Rock Auto declined my request for a partial refund to cover the cost of the welding repair.
This place sucks
This place sucks. Bought a radiator and other parts from them. They were leaking because they neglected to put o rings on requiring me to have two trips to Home Depot. Not buying their cheap ass crap ever again installed the radiator only to find antifreeze leaking out of the drain which didn’t seal because of the o ring. Then the same thing with the trans cooler line. Put together without an o ring bunch of crap cheap ass stuff
Zero customer service
Placed an order, it shipped from two warehouses, one package arrived the second did not, for some ambiguous reason the second warehouse didn’t have the correct shipping instructions and the package was returned to rockauto. Due to shipping costs I was not entitled to a refund even though I had no control over the situation. Terrible experience, very poor business model. I will never shop at rockauto in the future, nor will I recommend them to anyone.
I had a very positive experience with…Ashley from customer service
I had a very positive experience with Ashley from customer service. I originally ordered a part in February, which was unfortunately delivered to the wrong address due to an issue with FedEx. After spending nearly a month attempting to resolve the situation and secure a refund through FedEx—with little success—I was finally able to connect with Ashley. Once I explained the situation, she responded promptly and handled the matter efficiently, ensuring that I received a refund within just three days. Her professionalism and responsiveness stood in stark contrast to my previous experience, and I truly appreciate how quickly and effectively she resolved the issue.
Brakes Kit not correct - Too late for warranty/return
I ordered an entire set of brakes and rotors for my 2010 Honda Accord back in October. Unfortunately, I live in Montana and I don't have a garage to work in so I had to wait multiple months (until this week when the weather finally warmed up) which is obviously over their 30 day warranty. During the installation, first the Rotor security screws didn't line up properly, but I've always been told that these screws aren't necessary so we soldiered on. We assembled both front brakes and ran out of daylight so thought we would stop and finish the rear brakes the following day. Took the car for a test drive and experienced a really bad scraping noise from both sides. Upon inspection, the anti-rattle clip has a much smaller gap for the rotor to spin through. I went to a local AutoZone and bought new pads with clips that match the original perfectly. So... that tells me that either I was sent the wrong kit OR the kit I was sent was the correct kit but it was just poorly spec'd. Either way... I'll probably not use RockAuto any longer. It's just way too hard to return items and it appears that they may contract with inferior quality products/companies.
Very satisfied with years of experiences
Been purchasing parts for my classic cars for many years. I can't recall ever getting a wrong or damaged part. I had a rebuilt master cylinder fail what I would have considered prematurely, but otherwise no durability issues. Prices are very competitive and delivery is fast. I recently purchased a water pump that was what I ordered and their catalog said would fit, but didn't realize there was a problem until I installed it. They accepted the return without the gasket, no problem, and refunded me the full purchase price including shipping. Can't ask for more.
horrible "premium" brake pads
I purchased a set of "WAGNER" ceramic brake pads in February and had to wait until end of march to be warm enough outside to put them on, well they're junk! have to file tgem to try and make them fit, paint falling off pads, clips are terrible fitting, didn't trust them so I tried to get my money back but after going through rockauto computerized return nightmare it wouldn't allow it. After buying from rockauto for years I think this is the end!
BUYER BEWARE- RETURN POLICY COULD LEAVE…
BUYER BEWARE- RETURN POLICY COULD LEAVE YOU HOLDING THE BAG- SHOP ELSEWHERE!
I know that many people have had good luck with RockAuto (and maybe you will too), but I learned the hard way that their return policy can leave you holding the bag, even when an order problem is their fault. I recently ordered a manifold, but when it arrived, not only did I not receive my part in the box, but 2 other orders belonging to 2 different customers were in the box instead. They were boxed, labeled, and then stuffed inside my box... without my part. The short version of this long story is that there is literally NO POSSIBLE WAY to alert the company that they have made this mistake, let alone get it corrected. An explanatory email sent to them resulted only in an automated response thanking me for using the online return service. I took a chance and tried using the returns process (even though none of their drop-down selections covered my exact situation), and hoped that someone would open the returned merchandise, see the problem they caused, and set things right. But, no- and it gets worse. Although I did end up getting a partial refund of my original charges, I still was required to pay for the return shipping... of someone else’s parts.... that RockAuto screwed up. Inexcusable.
So, in the end: 1- I never got my part and had to go buy it at a local dealership at a much higher price. 2- Two other people never got their orders, one of which had paid for overnight delivery. 3- I had to spend my own time and money to ship the wrong parts back. 4- RockAuto remains blissfully unaware of my headache, and their computers who run the joint couldn’t possibly care less. The best part is that one of the parts I returned to them was 3X the cost of my order. Kinda makes me wish I had just kept it and sold it online. But that would just bring me down to their level.
If that all seems like it’s still worth the risk to you, by all means- spin the wheel and see what kind of luck you have. But in a world where problems with online orders and shipments are so very common, I will never do business with this place again, and neither will anyone I know. I recommend you do the same. Good luck!
My experience with RockAuto was…
My experience with RockAuto was extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time.
I accidentally entered the wrong ZIP code when placing my order—a small mistake that should have been easy to fix. I immediately tried to contact them, only to discover they don’t even have a proper customer service phone line. The only way to reach them was through their outdated website, which made the whole situation even more annoying.
When I finally got a response, I was told I couldn’t correct the shipping ZIP code. Because of that, my order ended up being sent back, and the entire process dragged on for weeks. It’s now been about three weeks, my money is still pending to be returned, and I even had to pay for the return shipping myself.
All of this hassle over a simple typo is ridiculous. Their return policy is overly strict and completely unfriendly to customers. Between the lack of real customer support, slow refund process, and unnecessary costs, this was a terrible experience.
I will never use RockAuto again. It’s simply not worth the headache.
Return
I returned two parts that didn't fit; they were worth about $23.00, but I only received a refund of $4.00. They charged me $20.00 for shipping. I won't be buying from them again—their parts are useless. I've already found a better source for Volvo parts.
