No interest in selling property


I submitted an enquiry to view a property and followed up with a phone call in the afternoon after not receiving a response. The person I spoke with informed me that the agent was very busy and would return my call. However, they did not take my name or confirm my contact details. Twenty-four hours later, surprise no call back.

As I am also in the process of selling my property, I would not consider using this company based on my initial experience. Rightmove needs to do better.

Take the time to test an agency before signing with them.

Hi my daughter and her partner have had…

Hi my daughter and her partner have had such a terrible time buying a house through right move, they agreed a price in 20th Nov with the seller since then the agreement been sent out twice and returned due to incorrect name on paper work the seller has constant trouble getting in touch with his own solicitor as this is all done as a package through rightmove. My daughter and partner solicitor have everything in place searches , surveys since beginning of January. To top it off now they rang and told my daughter the house she purchasing may need to go to probabate for 20 wks plus. Stay well clear of these it’s been a shambles from start to finish tgey don’t even respond to your solicitors like a load of cowboys. Rightmove you need to have a good shake up it’s really not good for bussiness.

Rightmove is a platform that independent estate agents use to advertise property, as such when you are enquiring about a property your are not communicating with Rightmove, you are communicating with the agent who is advertising the listing.

I appreciate how disappointing it can be to enquire about a property to discover, this can happen in a competitive property market.

However, if this is consistently happening with a particular agent, if you contact us with some specific details we can look into that.

commercial searches not possible on app.

there are major issues with the app.
commercial property searches are not possible.

generating drawn areas in the app is not possible. you can draw them on the website browser, save them, then go to the app as a ‘workaround’.

when searching for commercial property you cannot order them as ‘most recently listed’ as you can in domestic searches.

in the drop-down ‘reasons to hide this property’ it would be helpful if there were more options so that the rightmove algorithm (if there is such as thing?!) could better learn which type of property i am looking for.

it would also be useful if you could also hide promoted properties which is currently not an option. those sellers have understandably paid extra to be highlighted, but if they are not suitable i will not change my mind just because you keep showing them to me.

Didnt read email and got wrong context. My complaint was for online valuation feature and not about rightmove estimate.

She didnt even read my email. Replied based on assumptions.

I was not questioning the rightmove estimate. Not at all. Your estimate on your website for my property is £1.2m+ and I am fine with that.

I am complaining about the online valuation feature and please read the email properly.

I dont understand why do you even have option of online valuation on your site if it is completely useless. I tried online valuation option on your website, it went to sothebys who valued the property at 400k.

I called sotheby for such weird valuation and they said that they do this on purpose because rightmove forces them to value the properties when they dont even want to.

That is ridiculous. I think you should remove the online valuation button from your website because it is just nuisance, pointless, timewaste and misleading.

They allow fraudulent adverts to be advertised

Careful with them. They allow agents to post fraudulent pictures stolen from other flats to rent theirs, in occasions hilarious attempts to defraud renters like posting in a ground flat pictures of a flat with balconies and great views.
When you notify Rightmove, they will refuse any liability or to take action.
Clearly incompetent and unaware of Consumer laws and GPDR regulations, which at the time they are notified, makes them liable by hosting as a data controller without consent, images that belong to someone else.
Stay away and use other sites to rent or buy flats/houses where you can trust they will care about the advert integrity and honesty.

Unable to view photos of properties without accessing every property individually. Great assistance from Shannon with pointing me in the correct direction. Turned out the page magnification was too large, reduced & now hunky dory!!

Poor customer service

Poor customer service, lack of privacy in contacts, multiple different people making contact, took months to get anywhere. Do not recommend then them on any level.

No financial conduct authority registered

Dear customers of Rightmove Landlord and Tenant Services. After my extensive investigation be aware that this company is not responsible under Financial ombudsman or Financial Conduct Authority and you cannot compliant against if the company damage your reputation after unprofessional handling your details and how is using them. My conclusion is that reference service offered to the landlords and agents are uncontrolled by any organisation and is fully kind of voluntary. It turned out that there is nobody to turn to after unprofessional handling our information given to them and the Rightmove Landlord and Tenant Services damaged the reputation of one of the applicants and was proven unprofessional handling the info and at the end.

House price estimate so out of date its laughable

House price estimate, pure fantasy whatever they say its based on, its not reality. Then sending updates that again are pure rubbish. Fishing for circumstances to give agents business which obviously would be nuts to do as data inaccurate.

Customer support


I was moving and as soon as I had signed the contract, the RM team continuously tried to get me to sign up for a Virgin Media package. I understand that the team works on commission, but when I then wasn’t able to connect to Wi-Fi for a full week, all the RM team could do was send me a phone number from the website. While I appreciate that the issue may have been beyond their control once the commission was secured, I expected more support. It was especially frustrating after feeling pressured to sign up in the first place, only to be left on my own when something actually went wrong.

This means we’re unfortunately unable to provide the level of support required to resolve the issue you’ve raised. We were also concerned to hear your comments regarding feeling pressured to take out a product. As the broker that facilitated the sale, this is not in line with the standards we expect from our team.
