My husband and I first welcomed a stray cat into our lives back in 2020 actually, she adopted us 🤣
Rhoden Manor Cattery looked after her many times over the years. Hobo, our little girl, had very poor health, and as a worried cat mum, I cannot say enough just how much I trusted these wonderful people. They took such incredible care of our precious girl whenever we went away.

Sadly this year, we had to say goodbye and help our baby rest peacefully as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We soon realised that a home without a fur baby is just a house. Even though we were heartbroken, we knew the kindest thing we could do was give two more kitties a loving forever home. We welcomed a big, affectionate 18‑month‑old black and white boy we named Bandit, and a beautiful 8‑week‑old Female Tabby kitten we named Paris a huge thank you to Happy Cats Hyndburn for bringing us together!

Both are happy and healthy now, but on our way to drop our new babies off at Rhoden Manor, poor Bandit had an accident. I felt so embarrassed and stressed he was so upset, and I hated leaving him in such a mess. But the team immediately put us at ease and cleaned him up straight away!

We also had another concern before we arrived: Bandit would only eat Felix food and refused everything else 😭, but it was upsetting his tummy. The staff even asked if we’d like them to try switching him to something healthier during his stay – and they successfully got him eating much better quality food! They didn’t just look after our new fur babies beautifully; they cleaned up after his accident and even sorted out his diet too!

I have two jobs: I co‑own a business, and I’ve worked as an adult caregiver for over seven years, including palliative care. Having looked after people myself, believe me when I tell you this team are absolute angels 😇 You might see the rare negative review, but my cats are my whole world, and I would never leave them with any other cattery 🩷

Hobo was cared for so well, and Bandit and Paris absolutely loved their stay here!

We recently left our two British Shorthair kittens at Rhoden Manor Cattery for a week while we were away. Unfortunately, the experience left us feeling extremely let down and concerned for their health and wellbeing.

Before their stay, we provided everything clearly: pre-portioned food (wet and dry) they have eaten since they were 8 weeks old (with twice as much as usual, as extra), a large bag of their preferred treats, a detailed feeding and care routine, and full medical records.

We were told by Craig as we were leaving that “Claire would update” us.

We arrived to collect them both and to our surprise, we were told at collection that all their food had run out and alternative, lower cost food had been used without any attempt to contact us. Unfamiliar litter was also used, despite us having provided their own.

Since returning home, both kittens have been unwell for over a week now. Both are suffering from persistent diarrhoea and vomiting throughout the house. It’s now been over 9 days, and they are still recovering under vet advice. Our vet has observed them and does consider that their ongoing symptoms are as a result of the sudden change in diet.

While away, I messaged the cattery twice. The first message, on the second day, was acknowledged with two pictures. The second message, sent two days before we returned, was left on read and never responded to. That lack of communication was particularly frustrating when we were far from home and relying on updates for peace of mind. We have since been informed by other people using these services that they receive frequent video updates.

We gently raised our concerns in an email, outlining the health issues, diet changes, and suggesting that next time we use their facility (we had already booked at the time), we will provide even more food to mitigate any mishaps, although we were very confused as to how all the food we had left, could just disappear so quickly. It was hoped that we would work together to resolve this and future stays could run more smoothly. However, their reply was unprofessional and shocking offering unsolicited advice on how to care for our own cats, misgendering our feline cat (referring to her as “he” despite their alleged “bonds” built with her) and completely failing to address the key issues we had raised. The message lacked even the most basic level of customer care. They instead took the opportunity to highlight their own achievements rather than dealing with the issues raised. The response concluded abruptly with an offer to refund a future booking we had in August, which felt more like a way to dismiss the complaint than properly resolve it. It was also rather confusing, as we had made no reference to wanting “daily” or “social media” updates, which was suggested in their response.

We understand no cattery can be a perfect replacement for home, but we had trusted that our kittens cared for appropriately. Sadly, that trust was broken.

Craig’s reply to us stated that not every cattery is for every cat/owner, and he is quite correct and we have been fortunate to source one that is excellent.

We have been bringing our Bengal cat here for years. Unfailingly efficient and utterly trustworthy - genuinely take time to interact with the cat while she is there and take account of her sometimes being a fussy eater as she ages.

This is the best Cattery we have ever taken our Cat to. They are kind and caring and actually spend time with their furry guests! Our cat ( Keith) is very timid and is frightened of everything and everybody; I received a video of Keith being stroked and talked to and he was loving it!!! We were very pleasantly surprised at how he allowed the owner to even get near him! I would recommend this Cattery to anyone who loves their cat!❤️❤️❤️

A beautiful cattery on the face of things but when I came to look into the owners (as I want my 14 year old to be well looked after) I came to find that Claire, who goes by Claire Dodding but is actually Claire Ainsworth, is on a suspended prison term for theft of quite literally thousands of pounds from a client in her last business (an estate agents called ! She was found guilty in court. This is NOT someone I want to have dealings with, never mind someone I want to have looking after an important member of my family. I would say proceed with vigalence. It's quite disturbing that people like that can open businesses.
