Extortion with a side of lies and idaf
I liked the look of the studio so went in and had a chat with a blonde woman behind the desk, who in fact i believe to be the owner of the studio.
Anyway a design was chosen then printed and discussed so i decided to go ahead and put a deposit down of £200.
I sadly lost my job a week or so later so i contacted the studio to explain and asked if i could have it back which was 2 months in advance of the appt made. Having explained this and needing to feed 6 kids, it was denied.
Now i wasnt told the deposit was non refundable at the time of booking.
Requesting this money back was done within a week or so of making the appt, an appt that would have been filled.
After multiple messages back and forth and then being told it was non refundable, i was fobbed off with 'ill have to speak to head office' - as if they are a chain business, which they arent.
Funny how easy it is for the public to check companies house by the way.
Overall disappointing experience from a stand alone studio.
Once speaking to other award winning artists in northampton, when i said how much a day sitting was for an a4 sized piece, they nearly had a heart attack!!
For those wondering they charge £850!! This is disgusting along with refusing to hand back a deposit amount that i chose to give, then lying about head office.
Extortionate, no compassion and lies to get out of giving money back in an exceptional circumstance.
