WARNING to potential clients
I am writing this to warn others about the billing practices and lack of professional accountability at Renewed Wellness.
Last month, I was charged a $150 "no-show" fee at full price despite attempting to cancel three days in advance. I followed the contact instructions provided on their website and used the email link to notify them of a family emergency. When I followed up, the office acknowledged that the email link (or "widget") on their site was incorrectly coded—meaning my message was never received.
As an experienced massage therapist myself, I fully believe providers should be compensated for their time. However, the business should have taken responsibility for their own technical error rather than passing that $150 cost onto the client.
While my email correspondence with the owner, Amber Fair, was professional, the resolution was not. My interaction with the office manager, Jeni, was particularly disappointing; I was spoken over and treated with zero empathy. In contrast, Candi at the front desk was kind and apologetic, though she noted she was simply following orders to enforce the charge.
It is disheartening that a business claiming to be a "reflection of Jesus" would penalize a client for the company's own coding mistakes. Additionally, I advise clients to verify credentials; while Ashley Miller lists Myofascial Release on her profile, she admitted to me that she does not actually perform this or hold the certification.
If Renewed Wellness chooses to refund the $150, take responsibility for the technical error, apologize for the way I was treated, and verify their practitioners' listed certifications, I will gladly return to post a follow-up update to this review.
