The recent (Mar 2022) "improvements" to the tv listings website have made it MUCH worse:
- No pop-up info on mouse hover: this is a *massive* pain in the neck and enough on its own to make me look at alternatives.
- Clicking on a show to display the details in the new expanding box is really quite slow.
- The timeline left/right arrows no longer move back/ahead by the period that's displayed (to show you a whole new screen of stuff not already displayed), you have to click three times to get a similar effect and if you click quickly it doesn't necessarily register them all
- The new font/size/etc. doesn't seem as nice to read / look at as the old ones (though maybe that'll dissipate over time?)
Talking Pictures TV has sunk to the bottom on their list as it takes no notice of my previous settings. I complained ages ago that the arrows to move the time span, often disappear. Now they've ceased to exist.
It's just impossible to use
Website updates are supposed to improve the user experience not retrograde it back to the start of the internet !
Slow, Glitchy and unusable !
Whoever sanctioned this abortion of a website going live needs sacking immediately !
These utter, utter morons have introduced a big upgrade today, which includes the following features:
1.Hiding the channel numbers unless you create an account and log in.
2.Removing the hover-over programme information feature.
3.Automatically signing you out every couple of hours, even if you leave the tab open.
4.Only allowing one type of favourite channels list, so if you pick all your favourite sky channels and save it, then go and pick your favourite Freeview channels, the Sky favourites list will be lost.
I've rarely seen more stupity, incompetence and general fecklessness applied by any company in one fell swoop.
they have changed the online version again. now my favourite channels have gone to the bottom of the pile and i cant get it back up
Having contacted radio times on 2 occasions about failed deliveries I have had no response. I won't renew my subscription and will buy over the counter in future
Radio Times has become the pits. Cancelled my subscription as either it didn't turn up or it was up to week late.
Started buying over the counter. Discovered today the price has increased from £3.50 to £3.80 and when I got it home it fell apart as it hadn't been stapled correctly.
Time to look for an alternative.
Appalling! I have received a letter from RT offering to renew a yearly subscription for £220. The code to use online does not work. When calling RT, I am told that they cannot offer the yearly subscription for the quoted price but that they can for £298. They do offer to escalate the issue and call me back. They do not call back and when I call back (twice with each time more than a week between calls), I just learn that nothing has happened in the meantime. How low can you go?
Subscribed a few weeks ago. First 2 issues haven't turned up yet. Scam.
This is appalling behaviour by RT staff. Sent £1 for a
few mags on offer in September and have yet to receive
a copy. I have their receipt but they say I have not made
payment. Despite 4 e-mails requesting action all I get is thanks for my e-mail but complain that they are very busy and thank me for my patience
Delivery of Radio Times has become erratic or nonexistent. Definitely worsened over recent months. Promises of refunds never materialise either. Went from regular Tuesday arrival to guess-the day to no magazine at all. Have cancelled subscription.
The website for Radio Times subscriptions has to be the most difficult and useless website I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Even when I contacted Customer Services the line was so bad I was only able to understand one word in ten. I shall continue to buy my printed copy over the counter.
Best avoid Radio Times at buysubscriptions.com.
When cancelling the automatic Direct Debit renewal in advance of the renewal date, delivery of Radio Times stopped with 3 more copies that I paid for still due.
This will take time to resolve or to get a refund, and is more trouble than it is worth.
I ordered 2 quilts from the RT Shop in July. 3 weeks later still not arrived. Numerous calls and promises of delivery to no avail. They do not email to advise of dispatch and provide no tracking details. I have asked for a refund and awaiting decision about that. I will wait for another week then contact Visa to try get my money back that way. Do not use this shop !
Yet again, a missing subscription copy, and both my emails complaining about this have disappeared down a black hole. The subscription is only of good value if every copy arrives. I had to trot out to the shops to buy a replacement copy at full price. No-one at Radio Times seems to care.
Absolutely rubbish. Too many pop ups and too slow to upload. No point in visiting this site at all
Some time ago I ordered an item from the Radio Times Shop. No item after a long time and no replies to emails or tracking request.
Poor.
Could be a great service, but this website is poor, verging on the useless.
It's slow, unresponsive, and the 'contact us' facility is buried - it would appear they don't wish to hear from users.
Subscription is a waste of money as you will be lucky to get 70% of issues. radio Times has an obsession with advertising itself with every opportunity, this being its delivery in see through packages for all to see and get attracted to, the postal workers. Phone them up to complain and they say the postman steal them.
My Prima comes in a brown envelope and never gets stolen. Mount Pleasant sorting centre is a thieves dream.
Radio Times online listings page are so Ad intense that it is impossible to read the listings.
Ads and videos pop up all over the place. When you try to view details of any program listing your mouse often chooses the wrong link as the whole page jumps up to accomodate more incoming ads!
There are far better online TV listing pages.
As for the Radio Times mag, will probably never buy it.
I remember buying the mag at Christmas years ago, when Radio Times only listed BBC and TV Times listed
ITV.
Now dumped the TV licence so no longer watch the BBC and you dont need a mag to watch other channels on catch up.
