Why can't I control default categories for recurring transactions? seems easy

Your platform is NOT user friendly. I use Quickbooks for my job and it is incomparably easier. Quicken is for personal usage. Therefore it should be a lot easier. It forces me to do/use things i don't want to and that shouldn't happen. I should be able to set up the way i want to do things. I have been using Quicken since approx. 2000. It has gotten worse since it is now a subscription. I used to be able to purchase the software and it was a much simpler. Too bad i am enough used to it, that i keep going. Wish there was a better product.

It crashes frequently and shuts down

The product needs to move to modern and secure interface. The product lacks some very basic features, though it has added some features, however, I believe the whole interface needs to migrate to a modern platform.
The back end and support is very slow in response, specially for a paid product that is not cheap either.

Need the desktop version of Quicken to go along with the online version!

I've used Quicken for almost 20 years and it has been great for some functions (registers and reporting for example), average for others (identifying attachments to transactions slowly improved), and downright poor in other areas like synching investment accounts (mine almost never match statements) and Bill and Income is wonky and either doesn't download bills or somehow has different info.
The feature set is huge, and I don't use a few of the available features, but I find that I use some of them just because they're available, not because i really need them.
The biggest disappointment occurred when they switched to a subscription model with a price that's too high for what you get.
Oddly enough, writing this review reminded me that I'm not very happy with Quicken; I'm going to pull the trigger and try another product.

It is pretty good for my purpose of keeping track of my finances. There are a few things that could be improved though.

The Program is way too complicated. I don't want Quicken to have access to my accounts online. I just simply want to reconcile my checking account. I tried watching videos, but that didn't help. I contacted the company several times, and was told that the personal/business membership doesn't allow any way to reconcile.

Corrected the problem

Easy to use. Replacement for Mint. Better than other similar apps. All of my accounts can be connected.

Hate the subscription model for the few times a year I use it.

When I have accept all for charges it takes forever to accept them all.

Looking for something else as it no longer working and costing too much . Been a quicken user since early 90’s

Not great help functions. Okay for documenting and tracking expenses to budget but correcting our of sync entries can be a real pain.

Your service is overpriced. I will be looking for alternatives.

I gave up using it. I have been using it since it came out. I don’t understand how to reconcile my checkbook.i can’t figure out to transfer reansactions from my bank to Quicken.

It was renewed although I don’t remember approving that, but I’m not sure who to blame.

I basically use Quicken to keep track of some of my finances. I don't need most of the fancy updates that you produce and charge me for. I would appreciate a vanilla version without annual charges.

Does not save categories for some memorized transactions. Changes categories on memorized downloaded transactions

The program has too many errors, I constantly get a message that there are transactions to upload even when there aren't. The Tech support was not able to correct it and said it was the bank's fault

Called, easy transfer to tech for help. She was excellent working with me for over 40 min patiently. She was kind, pleasant and so very helpful. Solved everything!

I have used Quicken since 1989 for both running a business and my personal finances. Over the years they are constantly improving their product and recently I used there Support department to assist me in downloading the program onto another computer. No long waits for support and the gentleman knew how to handle the problem when the program didn’t originally download. I have always been able to do my tax returns efficiently and quickly because of the way finances are stored. I always know where I am with my personal finances.
