Refund cancellation flight

A few days ago we were sent our refund for the cancelled flight. Total monies paid £12000 for flight from Heathrow to Melbourne and back which includes stopping at Doha in a small hotel on the return flight. It took over two months to receive the refund and only received £4000! I believed I would receive at least £6000. Still pressing Qatar for details of the various costs but at the moment they won't do that! I am not at all happy with Qatar Airways 😢

The worst customer service in the…

The worst customer service in the world!!! This airline doesn’t honour their word or promises. My father is dying of cancer in Australia. Qatar offers a free fee waiver for medical emergencies. I have a valid reason. I have submitted a medical certificate. A doctors report. Lab and pathology reports. All have been refused. It’s been 8 days. 10 one hour phone calls. Been left on hold for hours and still no answer yet. I was told 24-48 hours it’s now been 8 days. No one has called me or emailed me. I was told numerous times they would. I am a business class passenger. A Silver provide award member. This means nothing to Qatar. Qatar who cancelled 2 flights on me this year because of the war cares nothing about me now when l have a medical emergency and need to see my father urgently. They wanted €1500 for a date change. €700 for a cancellation. Highway robbery‼️‼️‼️‼️
Shame on you Qatar YOU SUCK‼️‼️‼️‼️

My experience with Qatar Airways during…

My experience with Qatar Airways during a 15-hour layover in Doha was absolutely unacceptable and deeply frustrating.

I had a confirmed layover of 15 hours, with a connecting flight to LAX at 7:30 AM the next morning. I applied for transit accommodation one week in advance through Qatar Airways’ official system and received approval. Naturally, this approval led me to believe that hotel accommodation was secured.

However, when I arrived at the transfer desk, I was shocked to be told that my wife’s passport is considered “restricted”, and therefore we were not allowed to leave the airport, despite the fact that Qatar Airways themselves approved the hotel request. To make matters worse, the airside hotel was fully booked, leaving us with no accommodation at all.

We were traveling with a 1-year-and-4-month-old baby, yet this seemed to make no difference whatsoever to the staff. When I explained that we had official approval and asked how an approval could be issued without an actual room being guaranteed, the response was dismissive, cold, and careless. There was zero empathy, zero responsibility, and zero effort to find a solution.

We were treated like we did not matter at all. No alternatives, no assistance, no concern for a family with an infant facing an overnight stay at the airport.

This experience shows a complete lack of coordination, misleading approval processes, and very poor customer service. If Qatar Airways cannot honor its own approvals or properly handle families with babies, then something is seriously wrong.

I am extremely disappointed and will think twice before ever flying with this airline again. I would not recommend Qatar Airways to anyone expecting basic care, honesty, or accountability during long layovers.

Really disappointed with the service

Really disappointed with the service
I had a layover for 13 hours and they accepted my transit accommodation but when I went to transfer desk they said your hotel is inside but in a while they again said your flight came early all hotel is full you will get hotel outside and said me they will get me a visa to go outside and made me wait for 2-3 hours but later they said your visa got rejected you can’t go outside and they rejected my accommodation and made me stay in the airport for 13 hours which made me very sick from the cold weather . If they had inform me early I would have book the hotel myself.
Really disappointed with the service I was a regular passenger but now I dont like their service

Disappointing Experience

Disappointing Experience – No Refund After Flight Cancellation

I have been a loyal Qatar Airways customer for years and always regarded them highly. However, my recent experience has been deeply disappointing.

In February 2026, I traveled to Pakistan with 2 family members. Due to the war situation, our return flight to the USA on March 2nd was cancelled. Months have passed and we have still not received our refund for all three passengers.

What makes this worse is that one family member received a written email confirmation from Qatar Airways stating the refund would be processed — yet the money never arrived. This false assurance is unacceptable.

Customer service has been completely unreachable — calls go unanswered and emails receive no response.

I expect Qatar Airways to honor their own written commitments and process the long-overdue refunds immediately.

I cant fly, they give my seat to another person !

I had an emergency situation, and my mother was admitted to the hospital. I had a booking with Qatar Airways on May 2 from Soekarno Airport in Indonesia to Cairo International Airport. The flight was scheduled after midnight, and I arrived at the airport at 6 p.m. the day before. I kept asking about check-in, and as soon as it started, I was among the first in line.
What happened was that during check-in, the staff took my two large bags and placed a tag on my carry-on without weighing it. I asked if it would be weighed, and he said no, only the large bags are weighed.
After I completed immigration and headed to the final gate to board the plane, a large number of staff stopped me and said, “How did this bag get tagged? We need to weigh it.” They weighed it and found it was 3 kilos over the limit. They told me to either throw the excess away or pay. I asked them to discard it, and I did. They then made me sign a paper stating that everything I threw away would not be returned and I could not claim it later. I agreed and signed.
I was supposed to be allowed to board, but suddenly an employee who was not there from the beginning came and said that the time had passed and I was not allowed to board. I even heard her say that someone had already boarded the plane in my place, meaning my seat had already been given to another passenger.
I panicked because I had borrowed money for the ticket and was traveling due to an emergency situation. But they ignored me completely. They told me to give them my passport and that they were obliged to rebook my ticket with no additional charges. They took my luggage and escorted me outside while I kept asking, confused and in shock, repeating that my mother was dying and I needed to reach her (she has since passed away). They showed no concern at all, not even offering me water or basic assistance. I have a chronic illness, and I eventually fainted from exhaustion and shock.
Exactly five minutes after I was taken out of the immigration area, they brought my large suitcases back. This means the bags had not even been loaded onto the plane—if they had, they wouldn’t have been returned so quickly.
I stayed in front of their counter asking when they would rebook my ticket, and they told me they would not rebook it and that I had to buy a completely new ticket from scratch.
I want to understand how something like this can happen with a major airline like Qatar Airways. I ended up staying at the airport for four nights, was robbed inside the airport, became severely ill multiple times due to exhaustion, and my mother passed away. I contacted Qatar Airways in Doha, but they did nothing.

They tried to steal our money

They cancelled our flight and tried to keep our money. They wasted our time and promised a full refund, and eventually they tried ignoring us before finally admitting they weren’t going to refund in a generic reply after we opened a PayPal case. If you’re in a similar situation, don’t waste your time trying to get Qatar to do the right thing. They won’t.

I am following them up for refund since…

I am following them up for refund since almost three months but no action taken. One department forwards complaint to another department and then complete silence.

Here is my email for them which was never replied adequately. Only assurance that we have forwarded to concerned department thats it.

Dear Representative of QA,

Please note that I paid 449.710 Omani Riyal and AVOIS to purchase this ticket from London to Muscat and Muscat to London.

I was all prepared to travel through QA on the dates for which ticket was purchased.

But QA cancelled my flight. And when I applied for refund; they paid back only 421.760 RO.

So I lost approximately 28 Riyal Omani (54 GBP) because of maladministration and poor planning of airline itself. And I also lost my AVOIS.

Whole of my schedule was distributed because of this nonsense created by QA.

And now QA is not refunding my full amount.

This is ridiculous and disappointing.

I request QA to replenish my AVOIS and refund my balance payment.

This doesn’t include the psychological disturbance and business loss which happened because of cancellation at last moment.

Hope you guys will behave and return due amount.

Thanks.

Very disappointing experience

**1 star**

Extremely poor experience with Qatar Airways’ Student Club booking system and customer support.

I tried to book a Singapore to Toronto flight through the Student Club fare, but the website/app would not allow me to complete payment. I tried multiple payment methods, but the issue occurred before I could even properly enter or complete my card details.

By the next day, the fare had increased by around AUD 300. Customer support repeatedly said fares change and refused to honour the earlier fare. They offered to create a manual booking with a payment link, but then said the Student Club discount could not be applied offline.

So the options were: book online with the student discount but be unable to pay, or book manually without the student discount. That makes the Student Club benefit unusable in practice.

The support agent kept repeating the same points and did not provide a workable solution. Very disappointing experience, especially for a student trying to book an international university flight.

DO NOT BOOK

Have cancelled my flight in August. Not told me - rang about something else and told me on the phone weeks after it had been cancelled!! Now I have 2 options. Either pay £1200 extra for a flight on the same day or lose my taxes and seat selection payments of £1200 if they process an refund. Absolute robbing pirates. THEY cancelled my flight booked a year ago and are now demanding I pay more to still fly with them!!!!! I’m seeking legal advice surely that can’t be correct. Endless emails and hours on the phone to no avail. They do not help and will not give me any options other than to pay more for something I’ve already paid for in full.

Shameful management of Former Gold Member - Case CAS-836395-D3X6B0

I am deeply disgusted by the management of Qatar Airways. I am a specialized corporate mechanical technician flying for complex industrial projects. Despite being a consecutive Gold member for over two years, your system degraded my account to Silver and has systematically abused my loyalty through historical software glitches.

Your records perfectly prove your system wrongfully deducted 65,000 Avios simply for selecting free seats under my Gold status, forced a chaotic 51,000 Avios airport upgrade after canceling a valid booking, and completely blocked award availability last Christmas, causing me to lose 24 hard-earned Gold Qcredits without any commercial exception.

Today, for my upcoming flight from Bangkok, your online system claims there is "no inventory" to upgrade using my Avios. Yet, your mobile application is actively spamming my phone with cash upgrade offers at 265,000 THB for those exact same empty seats. The seats are physically there; you simply refuse to honor my loyalty points because you prefer to hold the cabin empty hoping for last-minute cash.

My official complaint CAS-836395-D3X6B0 is completely frozen. If a human manager with real power actually exists in Qatar Airways, I expect them to contact me as soon as possible to review this severe mismanagement before my departure. Disgraceful service.

Worst airline I've ever dealt with

Should be zero but you can't do that. After cancelling my flight and taking weeks to refund it, they've reversed it and refused to take accountability of this even though my bank has confirmed they've taken it - and my statement says 'reversal' of the credit amount. Worst airline ever

I booked an urgent flight through…

I booked an urgent flight through Fryport following the passing of a close family member in Uganda. During a very difficult time, their staff were helpful in assisting us with finding a suitable flight, and we booked a one-way ticket, as we had done on previous occasions.
Unfortunately, upon arriving at the airport, my mother was denied boarding because she was required to have a return ticket. We immediately approached the Qatar Airways desk to cancel the booking, but we were informed that any cancellation or refund request had to be processed through Fryport, as they were the travel agency that issued the ticket.
I contacted Fryport straight away to explain the situation and, in good faith, even booked another flight through them so that my mother could travel. Despite being fully informed of the circumstances, Fryport later refused to refund the original ticket, claiming that my mother had failed to show up at the airport. This claim is completely inaccurate, as she was present and was denied boarding due to the ticketing requirements.
To make matters worse, I was later informed that Qatar Airways had authorised a refund of only £38 from the £630 I had paid. Given the circumstances and the handling of this matter, I found the outcome both unfair and extremely disappointing.
While I appreciate the assistance provided during the initial booking process, the lack of support and accountability when the problem arose has left me with no confidence in this agency. Based on my experience, I would not use Fryport again and cannot recommend their services to others.
