Odense CAR PARKING @ Q PARK
We were visiting Odense , Denmark For the Hans Christian Anderson Museum and decided to use the
Q PARK City centre multistorey car park-
We had hired a car from Avis And duly parked in an allocated bay. We then went to the Parking station where we read the instructions to the right hand side in English.
The idea is you enter your car registration number followed by your payment card and a basic low fee is taken to hold your place - and upon your return you then tap using your same payment card, where upon the full amount would be taken with the original small holding fee returned to you.
We duly entered the registration number which recognised our correct vehicle and I tapped using my credit card. The lady behind said no ticket was issued. I just needed to do the reverse when we returned -simple.
. We then went to explore Odense.
Upon our return, we went back to the same payment machine where I entered the car registration number and tapped my card.
However, it did not process correctly and the gentleman behind did not offer any ideas.
When we went back to our car, we found a Q Park FINE Ticket @. 875 Kr !
The problem is the actual ticket machine only tells you what to do in Danish - and the notice to the side of the machine does not go into the details of how to proceed with the full Initial payment transaction
– and whilst I have been trying to translate everything on our trip I thought (as the car registration number and my card had registered when I tapped it on the payment machine ) that the holding fee had been taken.
So when we returned to the car park and I had tapped using my credit card, they had not processed the initial Holding Fee.
Trying to phone somebody or get through to Q-Park is very difficult and they operate shortened office hours
The following day therefore I did eventually get through after 45 minutes on hold where the operative said there was no point – no point at all – in appealing this Fine.
You are given a short time to pay only and when phoned Avis they said yes they could deal with this for us but there would be an administration fee to add to the original 875 kroner.
So as a warning to any unsuspecting tourists, please be careful parking in any Q PARK facility
WE GENUINELY THOUGHT WE HAD BOUGHT A TICKET as THEY HAD REGISTERED THE CAR NUMBERPLATE AND THE MACHINE LIT UP WHEN I TAPPED MY CREDIT CARD ON IT BOTH ON ENTRY AND WHEN WE TRIED TO LEAVE
THE PAYMENT SYSTEM by phone is also difficult when you are abroad using a credit card from a different country. And I did not want to risk incurring an inflated fine or even more for late payment. It also relies heavily upon the fact that you need Internet access or you need to upload the app. If you have an older phone like mine with less storage, it gets more awkward.
Obviously, from this, I would NOT recommend using any Q Park Facilities
I think charging three days parking effectively (it is roughly 25 kroner a day) is excessive
Most importantly, I think Q PARK SHOULD SHOW CLEARER INFORMATION IN ALTERNATIVE LANGUAGES ON THEIR PAYMENT MACHINE ( As truthfully population wise, not that many people speak Danish ) OR Q Park should AT the very least they should AMEND THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS TO THE SIDE OF THE MACHINE TO INCLUDE THE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW TO PROCESS THE PAYMENT BEYOND PUTTING IN YOUR CAR REGISTRATION NUMBER AND TAPPING IN YOUR CARD DETAILS.
& NO PHYSICAL TICKET IS ISSUED TO THE PERSON TO CONFIRM THAT THEY HAVE ACTUALLY PURCHASED ANY TICKET WHATSOEVER .
Truthfully, the whole experience has left a very negative feeling overshadowing are formally lovely holiday in Denmark.
Some people may say it was foolish, but truthfully I have not encountered this anywhere else on my travels & I wanted to warn any other tourists from being subject to this frankly less clear Scam .
avoid
Same as all the other comments below.
No clear instructions and a fine at the end. Impossible to contact them on their webside....
Poor image of Danish service!!!!!!!
Avoid at any cost
Avoid at any cost or otherwise you'll get a fine of 120 Eur. Parking lot spaces are small like for fiat 500 or toyota aygo. Travelled a lot, but such a scam could not find in other parkings and as i can see from other reviews i'm sure it's a bussiness model to get profit from fines.
Shame on you
Shame on you, Q-Park. No instructies at the entrance on how to pay, no instructions leaving the building. When returning, there was a fine on our car window. The customer service girl said that the instructions were on the pilar and yes, a lot of people get fined because they did not understand how it works, and no, it is not their fould but our responsibilty to understand when coming to Denmark. Shame on you, Q-Park, by not informing the way you should making this a tourist trap and shame on you, rude and arrogant customer service girl.

Company owns tourist parking trap
This company is runnning a parking area in Vejle, Denmark, designed solely to systematically scam tourists. Located next to a McD fast food restaurant where parking is usually free, payment is required even late in the evening with a lot of available space. As a result, we received a fine of 870 DKK upon our return! Shame on them for using such tricks to earn money.
Odense Q-Park is at trap!
Odense Q-Park. Read the rest of the reviews, don't park there. It IS a trap. They are literally waiting for tourists or people who don't understand how to pay for the parking so they can give them a fine of +800dkk. This is clearly their business model.
Ruthless thieves
This company only cares about profit, not about proper parking. And I do understand that because they're private company, but I don't understand how anyone can hire them for their parking, seeing all these reviews, knowing how they operate. There really should be a more fair and humane competitor for Q-park.
Modern day highwaymen
Q park are a Dutch company that have infested half of Europe with their sick tactics of scamming regular poor people for excessive amounts of money. Sadly, this is where we are today: psychopath CEO's make millions off of poor people, not by providing a product or service but by legally stealing from the poor.
The people responsible for Q-park aren't mass murderers like the pharmaceutical and weapons companies but they still deserve to be permanently crippled for their 'contribution' to humanity.
Run a series of traps along the Danish…
Run a series of traps along the Danish motorways under the guise of parking lots. Miniature signs strategically positioned to not easily be noticeable by weary Travellers. Fines bear no relation to the infringement.
A damming indictment of what should be a public service.
Their get rich quick scheme endangers the health and safety of those on the road, as it discourages taking a break.
Dishonest commercial practices.
Abusive 1000 dkk fine for parking too closely to another car…
One star is over rated for Q park!
One star is over rated for Q park!
Abnormal Danish instructions, no automatic license plate recognition for foreigners
Be aware that they will give you a fine of 117 euros.
No discussion possible.
Very selfished company.
No more Q park, no more Denmark for us.
It took them a year to handle my case!
2 days parking = 2 x € 117 = € 234.
Still sick of this company and its attitude!!
My advice: avoid Q parks.

A biggest fraud in denmark!!!!!! And complain system is a disaster, is hard to complain when i got the ticket, only i can do is paid the an unreasonable fine.
I am an international student from Aalborg University. On May 24, 2024, I had an interview in Aarhus and drove my car there for the occasion.
I parked my vehicle at a lot located at Værkimestergade 15, Aarhus. Upon parking, I noticed a Q-Park company vehicle nearby with a staff member inside who appeared to be monitoring the area. Uncertain about the parking regulations due to the unclear signage and my limited understanding of Danish, I approached the staff member for assistance. The area where I parked was situated between what appeared to be private and paid parking zones, as indicated by two different signs adjacent to my location.
Before leaving my car to pay the parking fee, i saw the staff also leaving company's car and start to scan all number plates in the area which seems start from my car, so I specifically asked the staff member, " I'm not sure if I can park here. Is it okay if I park in this spot and pay?" The staff member affirmed that it was permissible to park there and pay. Relying on this guidance, I proceeded to pay at the machine.
However, upon my return, I was surprised to find a parking ticket on my windshield, issued at 14:03. My credit card record shows that I paid for the parking at 13:47, merely 15 minutes after consulting with their employee.
Refused to give a refund on a lease car…
Refused to give a refund on a lease car that I hadn't even parked, it was the leasing company that parked the car and it deducted from my card. Companies pointing at eachother to give refunds and laughable support. Avoid this one at all costs.
AVOID!!! At all costs !
Absolutely - useless - I bought 3 24 hours parking tickets - none of them came up or worked - they also cannot process refunds! So avoid this company at all costs! Use easy park, and forget this company! Save yourself and the frustration and poor communication.

In Aarhus
In Aarhus, if you want to go for just 5 mins still you have to pay for min 1 hour. Who told there is no corruption in Denmark. These type of companies are the best examples of legal corruptions. If you pay from app still there are lots of extra useless charges which is unacceptable.
Scammers
Scammers, I have their app on my phone and a parking session has just opened by itself on the app & is charging me for parking in Denmark... I am in the UK... fraudsters & scammers.
Illiterate employees?
Parked to charge the car in the 3h limit zone and wrote down my parking ticket on a piece of paper as that's the only option I had available at a time.
Got a ticket that they can't "read" my parking time ? !
Predatory and dishonest bandits
Predatory and dishonest bandits. I received a ticket for not setting my "P-skive" while parked at SuperMarco in Copenhagen. I had, however, set my parking in the EasyPark app and had the timestamps to prove it. I submitted my complaint to Q-Park immediately upon returning home on May 31, 2023 and heard nothing from Q-Park for EIGHT MONTHS. Apparently Q-Park needed time to put up some signs at the parking lot that definitely were NOT there at the time that I parked, and which spoke to their case. Of course, they sent them as a PDF, so it's impossible to prove (alas, I didn't take my own pictures of the signs at the time I parked) the date when the pictures of the signs were taken. The lengths they will go to to not admit their mistakes are absolutely breathtaking. I am just happy to know that with the bad karma this company is creating, its founders will surely find themselves in the bodies of rats in the next life.
q park is a scam stay away
q park is a scam stay away. When i got the ticket i tried to one pump him but he boxed me in a ran away with my loot
discusting way to make money
around Lyngby center they have drawn these small rectangles that the cars barley fit inside (much smaller than a normal parking spot). you must park inside the rectangles and if you exceed the line even few milimeters then you will get a ticket. what a discusting way to make money. you should be ashamed of yourselves.
