I’ve taken both Jo’s Strength class and…
I’ve taken both Jo’s Strength class and her Women’s Weightlifting class, and she is an amazing trainer. She has great knowledge and a strong understanding of proper form and technique, which makes you feel confident and safe while lifting. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she really knows how to push you to do your best while still being supportive. I also appreciate how she constantly reminds us about breathing and staying focused throughout the workout. Jo creates a motivating, empowering environment, and I always leave her classes feeling stronger and more confident.

Second visit better than the first.
This is my second visit to Pure Gym Wantage & much better than the first as there was a lot less intensity/pressure than the first time I went. The staff were friendly and the equipment was being cleaned whilst we were working out. There were a lot of people pushing themselves, but I didn’t feel it quite so intimidating this time. And there were staff on hand to show me what to do with the various equipment when needed. Felt that I had a good workout and wished I could stay longer.
Pity they don’t have the pure gym membership offer that is being offered elsewhere.

Positive 1st experience/ negative 2nd experience …
My daughter came with me as is wanting me to join a gym. She goes to a Pure gym where she lives, so wants me to join your gym in Wantage. I was impressed when I was with her, although really shocked at my lack of fitness and strength. It was clean, spacious, music wasn’t hideous.
But when I came back alone in the evening, I found it really overwhelming with the amount of people working out, loud thumping music, and I didn’t know how to use the equipment. There weren’t any instructors available for me to ask or I couldn’t recognise them as instructors maybe as they were doing different things. I always feel it’s good for member of staff to go round checking people at the gym, that they are doing things correctly, so they are benefiting their body best and they are making sure no injuries are caused. Because nobody came to see me to enquire if I was okay or to check on my positioning I didn’t feel there anybody there interested in my workout. I didn’t stay long.

Good gym, some points for improvement

I have enjoyed going to the new gym in Wantage so far. The staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. The facilities and equipment are all very good as well.
