Misleading Marketing and Lack of Support: A Cautionary Tale About Project Revolution PMP Prep Course
I would strongly caution anyone considering the "Project Revolution PMP prep course".
The service that is marketed online is not the service that is actually delivered. The course advertises that they will help support you until you pass the PMP exam if you are reaching certain scores on their practice tests. In reality, that support was not provided in my experience.
Once payment was collected, the instructor was essentially nowhere to be found. Instead of receiving support from the person running the program, students were often passed off to other students for help. Unfortunately, those students frequently did not have the experience or knowledge to properly guide someone preparing for a difficult certification exam like the **Project Management Professional (PMP)**.
After struggling with the material, I had another experienced instructor review portions of the curriculum and was told that parts of it were outdated and not aligned with how the exam is currently structured. I also spoke with several PMP professionals who had never even heard of the program, which raised additional concerns about the credibility and recognition of the course.
What was most frustrating was the pattern that seemed to occur: when students failed the exam after relying on the course materials and guidance, the responsibility was pushed back onto the student rather than addressing the quality of the instruction.
Ironically, I ended up helping several other students who had also taken Project Revolution because they were confused and felt unsupported after paying for the course. Once we studied using better resources, they were able to pass.
Fortunately, I eventually found a different PMP prep program with a much stronger learning structure and community. The difference was night and day — the material was clear, the concepts actually made sense, and the support network among students was incredibly helpful. I passed the exam without issue once I switched approaches.
My honest advice: do your research before committing to a PMP prep course. Sometimes paying a little more for a program with updated content, real instructor support, and an active learning community is worth it. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Project Revolution.
