I turned up to test drive, and buy, a dual motor Polestar at Wilmslow’s branch earlier. Unfortunately, it was when I was about to literally drive away on the test drive they told me that I’d driven for 40 minutes for a car that I didn’t want as they didn’t have any dual motors in and that the car I was sitting in was a single motor/standard model. The salesman (whose fault it probably was not) then uttered that they “probably should have told me that before I arrived! This is basically the same car but much less powerful” - yeah, that’s a bit of an understatement really and quite patronising - why would I have come to test drive a less powerful car if I wanted to buy the car with more power? Defies logic. Evem would have been a good idea to let me know perhaps even before I got in the car and noticed! What a waste of a sale (and almost 2 hours of everyone’s time). I bought a Volvo within 90 minutes after - it was a toss up which Polestar would have probably won if they weren’t so dire at customer service. It might be a suggestion that they should work on that! It’s not just me that this has happened to - not the exact same issue - but nevertheless, pretty shoddy. Thanks for the offer for a standard vehicle anyway, but no thanks.

My partner got a new polestar 2 and the sales service was ok but the salesman left the business and no one picked our order up. So we rang them multiple times and finally got it sorted out.
We got the car and was delighted at it. My partner took the car to show her daughter and her father in law was there. He used to work in car manufacturering while we were talking pointed out a dent on the wing and you can see where the straps have been on it when it was transported.
We took it straight back and they took photos of it and said we will get our repair team out to fix it. We advised we were going on an overseas holiday for 2 weeks. They said we will contact head office and get it sorted out for you.
While we were in turkey we got a message asking us for the photos of the damage my partner took said and told them already at the showroom so why are they asking for these again.
Under the consumer act they have 1 go at getting this right and we’re still no where. We got back in the early hours and we have called them now 3 times and after a couple of rings the call drops which means they are picking the phone up and terminated the call.
You should not have a dent in a brand new car and we wished we would have read the after sales experience before we bought this and cannot get thought to polestar so we will have to go there and see them. Not the kind of experience we’re looking for

Drive is good the only positive.
Infotainment and App a shocker, I have a 75 Plate Polestar 2, I do 600 to 800 miles a week and its a massive disappointment with this £51k car, please don't be tempted, and please don't believe the 409 miles battery, must have been free wheeling down hill with everything off.
I had thd Ioniq 5 before, it wasn't perfect but 10 times the car the Polestar is.

Quite simply the worst purchase experience in my entire life. DO NOT buy a car from Polestar. I purchased a Polestar 2 just over a year ago. Since then it has been in the garage on six separate occasions for a multitude of issues including a broken sound system, charging failure, and a faulty electric battery twice(!). I've also recently discovered they sold me a car without a physical key. This means when the car battery fails, I'm locked out of my car, standing in the heat. This has now happened twice because the battery and the replacement battery have both failed. Terribly disappointed.

I had a manufacturing issue with my new PS4 (air con was not working). I contacted Polestar support and was assisted by Craig. Craig remained in contact until the problem was successfully resolved, scheduling call backs at relevant dates to check on updates. Despite being disappointed with the issue in the first place, the level of customer service and care was refreshing. Its good to know that when things are not quite right, there are people that care enough to ensure they are put right as efficiently as possible.

Anyone who wants to buy - be careful. The only thing which works good - its motor. Forget about quality of interior materials. 1) The half-fabric, half-plastic material they use for the trim is practically impossible to clean and collects a lot of dust. 2) The cover near the free leg is constantly opening and the electronic unit with wires falls out. 3) During winter/rains, the fan is almost always on maximum, and even this does not always help prevent the windows from fogging up. The heating/air conditioning system is incredibly stupid, which works differently in every car. 4) Sometimes the sound in the car disappears completely - you have to reboot the system. 5) The windshield wipers are incredibly stupid, which are "stylish", but in some cars the water does not even come out of the holes. 6) The positive thing is the motor. It works as a regular motor of an electric car should. Bottom line: for occasional use - ok. For daily use - you will cry. P.S. I work as a taxi driver with a huge fleet (300+) of these cars, so I know what I'm talking about. You will get the same in BYD, only from Polestar I want "European quality".

I ordered a Polestar 4 through the Wilmslow branch in early March, leasing through my business. I was upfront that I didn't need the car until June, and was told that was completely fine — they expected it ready by late April/early May and would simply hold it for me.
From there it fell apart. When I called at the start of June, they said they'd "check" when they could get the car to me — and then went quiet. No callback, no date. I had to chase them repeatedly over the course of about a week just to get any information, and got nowhere. Throughout, they kept requesting more paperwork and ID without ever giving me a firm collection date in return.
It eventually emerged that the car was in the country but not with them, and they couldn't tell me when they'd be able to get hold of it. Only after I escalated above the sales manager and threatened to pull out of the deal did things suddenly move — at which point they located the car, promised it this week, and arranged collection.
Then, today, with the handover imminent, they came back asking for a personal indemnity and yet more ID — having already been sent my ID the week before.
The communication was poor, nobody took ownership, and the only thing that produced any progress was me threatening to walk away. I run an established business and have leased before without anything like this. Whatever the car itself is like, the buying experience at Polestar Wilmslow was a shambles, and I wouldn't put anyone else through it.
**UPDATE**
More back and forth two days before I was due to collect the car. Polestar Wilmslow kept requesting me to sign more forms with no clear indication of where to add the information they were asking for. The form was returned to me to amend multiple times over two days with no clear guidance on what was actually needed.
In the end I'd had enough. Unable to see an end to the constant aggravation, I cancelled the order and requested my deposit back.
Even then, Polestar Wilmslow couldn't manage a phone call or a basic acknowledgement. Just a confirmation email a few days later confirming the refund.
Avoid.
I've since leased the same vehicle from another company without any of these issues, and at a much cheaper price. Do your research!

Customer service is always excellent, I raised a query and it was dealt with quickly and professionally. Communication was great and I was kept informed of progress throughout through to resolution.

Polestar staff always polite, knowledgeable, understanding and very helpful. The advisors were interested in sorting out the (minor) software issue with my P2 and, together with my local Volvo service centre, found a solution to the problem. Everything about Polestar - the car, the help centre staff and Volvo service support - is just top class.

I would strongly advise anyone considering a Polestar 3 to think very carefully before committing.
My vehicle is less than 9 months old and has now suffered the same charging failure four times, resulting in four roadside recoveries and leaving me stranded on multiple occasions.
The vehicle has been recovered on:
• 28 September 2025
• 25 October 2025
• 11 April 2026
• 2 June 2026
Each breakdown has been caused by charging-related faults that rendered the vehicle unusable.
While faults can happen with any car, what has been most disappointing is the overall ownership experience. Every breakdown has resulted in hours spent dealing with roadside assistance, recovery companies, dealerships, hire car arrangements, complaint processes and repeated phone calls. On one occasion alone, I made or received 29 separate calls trying to resolve the situation on one day.
I chose a brand-new premium vehicle because I wanted reliability and peace of mind. Instead, I have experienced more disruption in nine months than with any vehicle I have owned in over 20 years of driving. Until I purchased this car I had never had a car recovered by roadside recovery.
After the third breakdown, I made it clear that I had lost confidence in the vehicle and believed there was a fundamental issue. Unfortunately, a fourth failure has now proven those concerns justified.
I no longer trust this vehicle for business travel, family journeys or longer trips. Four recoveries in less than a year is simply unacceptable for a premium vehicle, and based on my experience, I would not purchase another Polestar.
The car may look fantastic and drive well when it works, but a premium brand is ultimately judged on reliability and how it supports customers when things go wrong. Sadly, Polestar has fallen well short of the standard I expected.
