Poor sales information about what is sold

I had ordered fruit trees to train as fans. However two arrived trained as bush, not as maidens. Nowhere in the sales information did it say some would come as bush trained. Moreover the trees appeared to come directly from one of the big nurseries, so I guess Orange Pippin does not actually know what they are sending.

I complained, but they answered that is how most trees are sold. However, over the years I have bought many fruit trees which arrived as unpruned maidens. So simply not true. I will try pruning them back, but I suspect I will have wasted a year and will have to buy again (obviously from another provider).

Poor quality tree; customer service - a joke.

I bought an espalier Jubilee plum 2 years ago. Fine in the spring...green and in blossom...then for some reason leaves turn yellow/green mix. Poor fruiting too. I followed their planting advice.... contacted the company and was basically brushed off. There is no proper customer services. They are just after a sale! I am an experienced gardener. None of my other plants/shrubs show health issues. I was dubious about the condition of the rootstock when it arrived...but felt I had no choice other than to plant and hope for the best. Wasted my money ... I would NOT recommend this company.

Bizarre and rude

Made an enquiry on website as to whether they can deliver to my area, received several emails hounding me about paying for my order, which I had never placed. Curt and rude correspondence. Bizarre company practice. Avoid. I purchased my trees cheaper and better quality and service elsewhere.

It’s all about the sale

They will sell you trees that will not grow in your area and die. I Ordered 3 trees that died, being inexperienced with growing apples I did not realize they only grow in certain zones. After I discovered the zone restrictions, I realized I had received trees that were good to zone 5 and I live in zone 3.
I called them and they said if I planted them in a sheltered area I should be good, a person doesn’t need to be experienced to know a sheltered area is not going to equate to a two zone difference. I planted them in the woods and they all died. Found other places that sell trees that specifically state what zone the tree is good for. Stark brothers has you enter your zone and if you pick a tree from the wrong zone a warning comes up.

Good

Bare root apple trees. Big strong, healthy looking trees. On time. Well prepared and packaged at a reasonable price.

Excellent product and service

I bought some potted apple and plum trees from the Orange Pippin website a few weeks ago and they arrived last week in perfect condition. The trees were exactly as described on the website and communication from the point of purchase to delivery was clear and helpful. Highly recommended!

Excellent trees and customer services

Bought two potted patio trees. Was given an initial delivery window then received an email to confirm when the trees had been dispatched. They arrived on time, extremely well packaged. One even had fruit!

The website is great with lots of information on planting and caring for trees.

A very happy looking tree

A week after I planted the reasonably priced 12L Egremont Russet, I have a beautiful tree in bloom and looking very healthy. By far the best of the dozen trees I ordered from three suppliers so looking forward to ordering more from this company.

I bought a Tomcot apricot

I bought a Tomcot apricot , which was healthy and grew fast in the centre of Bristol (facing South) , and I purchased a Czar plum which is a superb specimen and is already cropping heavily in its second year here .
After-sales advice and consultation was very , very good - I have never found such a good horticultural outlet in UK !

Very good trees

I've now bought 6 trees from Orange Pippin, 2 eating cherries, 2 plums, 1 gage and one fig. All the trees were healthy and all have fruited true. After sales service has been excellent.

Five stars

Following a very disappointing experience with another company, I had second thoughts about ordering on this site, when looking at some of the previous reviews.
I was pleasantly surprised !

The healthy looking tree arrived as previously informed. From order to delivery I was emailed with every step allong the whole process. No surprises.

Probably this is how online ordering of similar products should happen in 2019. I can only recommend this company !

Disappointing

Ordered four trees. Two cherries were good. Plum was not as ordered, and unsuitable for my purposes, although I did get a prompt refund on that. Apple was very disappointing, maybe half the size I would have expected (70cm from graft to apical bud on an M116 rootstock), but was as ordered so they dug their heels in. Not a satisfied customer and would not recommend.

Unreliable

This company quoted for trees and specifically for delivery to France. Having accepted AND paid in full AND had confirmation from them, they then tried to up the price of delivery by 50%, effectively breaking what amounted to a legal contract! Clearly a company that cannot be trustedI I received a refund when I complained but lost the exchange rate difference both ways.

A very happy customer

It was my first ordering trees from this website. I have ordered and received the fruit trees in great condition. The only thing about them is they don't send out the trees straight away if you order in the summer months you have to wait until September.
What I like about them is:
Good website with lots of information about the fruits.
Great customer service.
Have good knowledge about your location and the fruit trees.

This was my third order with …

This was my third order with Orangepippintrees so felt confident ordering a premium rootstock apple tree and plum tree. Delivery was quick. The apple tree was well pruned and in excellent condition, however the plum had lots of little consistent shaped holes in the leaves with brown markings on the reverse of the leaf. The quantity of leaves infected was a concern to me. I sent an email and the reply said it was rainfall causing 'shot holes' in the leaves and it would be OK in the spring. I am an experienced gardener and actually the tree appeared to be suffering from Shot Hole fungus and so followed up with a phone call submitting 8 photographs. The gentleman answering the phone was unbelievably curt and refused to consider a refund, 'he did not agree that it was diseased'. I escalated my concern and begrudgingly told a courier would be sent the next day to collect. It was and money refunded promptly. The attitude of their customer service was the worst I have ever experienced and in view of this lack confidence in using this company again. Given two stars because the courier came and money refunded onto card quickly

Terrible customer service, poor quality products!

E mailed to let them know I had bought an apple tree from them and that it had not fared well. Had an e mail back saying I should have told them last year. Well my answer is that if I have bought a tree, it may not grow too much in the first year, but after the beginning of the second and it still is doing nothing, I suspect the tree. To inform you and be told that it is too late now should be a warning to others who are going to purchase from this "company". Personally, I will not be returning to buy anything else from you as you have no customer service at all and based on my purchase, poor quality products.

Diseased Trees!

Very disappointed with the quality of trees supplied. I had 10 trees delivered on one pallet, and 2 of the 3 quince trees had severe Quince Leaf Blight. The 3rd one is showing signs of this.
I have received a full refund for the 2 blighted trees, as i was informed that a replacement was not possible because the remaining trees are also blighted.
I'm very disappointed that these trees were even sent out in this condition. Quality control appears non-existent. And I'm also concerned that, as it is a fungal condition, other trees on the pallet might be infected. It doesn't bode well for my other trees....
Won't be using this company again!!
