I had to bring my appointment forward due to last minute work commitments and got stung £50 for the privilege. Then a 2 hour appointment to be told I'm not suitable for treatment. The staff at Norwich were great but as a company I'd avoid and don't hand over your card details!

When card details are provided at the time of booking, this confirms a patient’s intention to attend the appointment they have selected. The appointment is then reserved exclusively for that patient. A confirmation email is sent immediately—where a valid email address has been provided—and this contains full details of the non-attendance and short-notice amendment fee. This ensures patients are informed of the terms associated with their reservation.
The £50 fee is only applied when a confirmed appointment is cancelled at short notice or not attended, as this appointment time has been allocated specifically to the patient and cannot be offered to anyone else unless the patient informs us. Based on the information you have shared, it appears the appointment was reserved, and the terms—including the fee—were communicated in line with our process.
However, we are happy to review your individual case to ensure everything has been handled correctly. Please contact our Customer Care team at customerservice@opticalexpress.com so we can investigate fully and provide a detailed response

Felt well looked after by very competent knowledgeable surgeons. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, Connor helped us on the consultation day. Sinead stood out she had excellent customer service skills and constantly went out of her way to check we were okay. Her tea making skills are excellent! Aftercare seems very good too!

My experience was exceptional
My experience was exceptional, i can honestly say I didn't know what to expect but it was well above my expectation.
From my the 1st initial contact with Taylor from Glasgow, who made my initial consultation to Jenny and all the staff in the Belfast clinic. I was well informed, everything was explained clearly.
Then on the day of my surgery meeting my surgeon face to face and the surgery team, I was again well informed and made very comfortable. I felt totally relaxed. The actual surgery was amazing and quick. They talked me through what was happening at every step.
I would and will highly recommend this service to everyone.
Jenny and all the staff at the Belfast clinic are so welcoming and super friendly. They definitely go above and beyond.

I underwent lens replacement surgery at Optical Express Belfast yesterday evening, and even though I am only on day one of recovery, I feel compelled to share my experience.
From my first consultation through to the procedure itself, the care and professionalism were outstanding. Jenny and her team were superb throughout. They were friendly, knowledgeable, reassuring, and made sure I felt comfortable and informed at every stage of the process.
A special mention must go to Dr Matthew, who was exceptional. His professionalism, expertise, and calm manner gave me complete confidence in the procedure. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made what could have been a nerve wracking experience feel straightforward and stress free.
Although it is still very early in my recovery, I am already delighted with the progress and the care I have received. The procedure went smoothly, and the support from the team has been first class.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Optical Express Belfast to anyone considering lens replacement surgery. My experience with Jenny, Dr Matthew, and the wider team has been excellent, and I am extremely grateful for the care and attention they have provided.

Excellent experience from start to finish!
All the staff are courteous and helpful, the Belfast clinic is beautiful and spotless and on the day of the procedure everything happened in the time frame I was given. Having the follow up appointment the next day is very reassuring, I was able to confirm I was following all the instructions correctly and what I was experiencing was very normal. I am shocked by how good my results are in just the first 24 hours!

Fantastic Experience
Started the process in the Derry Clinic with the staff offering a great service, warm, welcoming, answering all questions, putting you first and at ease. Would highly recommend if closer journey time before surgery in Belfast.
On surgery day the care was fantastic and couldnt fault anything of how it was carried out all staff were really professional and the team made sure you were relaxed and comfortable before and after PRK sugery.
The aftercare I recieved was top class and felt that the team in Derry wanted to be sure my eyes were healing the correct way to achieve 20/20 results.
Would do it all over again with Optical Express.

Fantastic experience
I had a good experience during my visit for an eye test.
The entire process was smooth and well-organised, and I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived by all the members of staff.
Iky carried out my scans and was excellent throughout. She explained everything clearly and helped me feel completely at ease and comfortable.
The optometrist, Jameel took the time to answer all of my questions in detail. The clinic is clean, modern, and well-equipped, which added to the overall sense of professionalism. I would recommend this practice to others.

From the moment I arrived for my assessment appointment at Optical Express Wisbech, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. Kira took me through straightaway and explained every aspect of my appointment clearly. Sarah then carried out all my scans, explaining each one as we went so I understood what to expect.
