Omlet auto door for Eglu go up
I’m extremely disappointed with the Omlet automatic chicken coop door, especially given the £149 price tag. From early on it repeatedly displayed a “door blocked” error when there was absolutely no obstruction. As a result, I was unable to secure my hens safely at night, which completely defeats the purpose of buying an automatic door in the first place.
When I contacted customer relations, the “solution” offered was frankly unacceptable. I was advised to move the internal sensor, which involved drilling additional holes in the coop, and to create a makeshift spacer out of cardboard to place inside the door. For a premium product, this kind of DIY workaround is not reasonable, nor should it be expected of customers.
Having spent a significant amount of money on Omlet products recently, I expected a properly engineered, reliable solution — not trial-and-error fixes using cardboard. The product does not perform as advertised, and the after-sales support has been very poor. At this price point, reliability and safety should be a given.
I would not recommend this product based on my experience.

I really want to love this company because the concept is great, but unfortunately the execution is very poor. They are knowingly selling cheap, inferior products that simply don't work. I recently purchased the automatic door, which looks like it's made from low-quality parts and assembled poorly. It hasn't worked since day one, with constant faults, wasted time, and repeated excuses instead of real solutions. Very disappointing experience.

Lots I love about Omlet; I have their bolster beds for the dogs and their coop and run for the chickens. Always been very happy but do feel let down slightly by a recent experience. Unfortunately one of our dogs chewed the bolster part of their dog bed so I contacted Omlet regarding a replacement. They offered me one at a cost of nearly £100 - I could have brought a new complete bed for around £80 more!! Also it is not a spare they always have available apparently; it was only as they had one spare in the warehouse. I do think, knowing many dogs have at times an ability to chew or ruin things that all ‘parts’ would
be available at buy, but not at such a high price as I was offered! I have managed to ‘bodge’ together a repair but a new replacement brand of dog bed will be in order I think.

Just no.
It's plastic tat and it will soon break, if my experience with the autodoor is anything to go by. Continuously breaking. And the customer service is hilarious - the things they expect you to do to keep the plastic junk working! Um, some of us have a life!
Avoid their runs, too, because the mesh is far too big. You need 1/2" mesh everywhere to prevent rats.

Do not buy from them, the water feeder freezes over night at -1. The nipple that you are supposed to use freeze on the inside and stops them from working. Not fit for purpose, email them incase mine was defective got a simple unbelievable reply. Put fresh warm water in it everyday. I would have to take it in the house and let it melt first, which would mean they have no water while this is going on. So any one reading this do not buy this rubbish iteam

Not for the first time, an issue with delivery from Omlet. First it was the auto door some months back which was on backorder. Delivery was delayed beyond the original estimate and had to chase it and it eventually arrived. The item itself is fine though the instructions are not the best for a lay person. The batteries also drain fast, lasting for only some weeks so something needs to be done about making them last longer. Other than that it has worked fine until now.
Now I am facing another delivery issue, this time with the feeder. Placed an order on 7 November 2025 expecting delivery within a few weeks and the delivery date has been pushed back several times without any reason. There has been No update provided, but checking via the order email link, the dispatch date now provided is February 2026 which is the same as someone ordering today which makes no sense. It seems they put the back orders in a junk pile.
Unfortunately I can see many similar complaints from other customers on trustpilot. It seems to be their policy to take money in advance despite knowing they cannot fulfil the order. Not ethical business practice in my view, nor is charging an additional delivery fee in the circumstances. Standard response and no real regret from Omlet nor compensation for the delay.
Also the reviews on their website seem to be controlled to only put good reviews! I tried to put my review on their website and it is not showing.

I order a new water dispenser for my chickens, the delivery date has changed so many times am starting to believe it isn't coming. The prices are very high and delivery is charged on top what is a joke with the length of delivery. I won't be ordering again there is many more retailers that offer just as high quality with free post and good customer service as they haven't got back with why it hasn't arrived 2 months later.

When placing an order why oh why give these thoroughly optimistic, unrealistic delivery times.
At the point of placing order why doesn’t site say out of stock expected delivery date ********.not give a delivery date then change it umpteen times with the proviso “ no guarantee”. I have been waiting 5 weeks for something ordered half way through November that was to be delivered in 10 days. Delivery date changed 3 times Latest estimate January 2026 ( not holding my breath) For goodness sake you should know when your supplier is delivering. Why such poor stock control. If you sell electric doors surely you should have a back up of parts.

I’ve been a loyal Omlet customer, but this experience has completely destroyed my trust in the brand.
I placed an order on 27 July 2025 after being told the product would be delivered within around 3 weeks. As of 7 December 2025, my order now shows an expected dispatch date of 26 February 2026.
That is roughly a 7.5 month wait, with the dispatch date having been pushed back six times.
What makes this especially frustrating is the contradictory information. Most recently, I received a general product update email stating that orders were now “getting ready for dispatch” and would ship this month. Shortly afterwards, I checked my own order status and discovered — without any direct notification — that it had been delayed once again, this time to February 2026. By the way, this is the exact same delivery date as people ordering now. In fact, my mother in law has placed an order earlier this week and has a better delivery date than me 👍🏻
Communication throughout has been extremely poor. Updates appear to be generic, pre-written product update messages that do not reflect the actual status of individual orders. There is no proactive or personalised communication when delivery dates change, leaving customers to find out about further delays on their own.
This has been the consistent pattern:
• delivery estimates on the website that are never met
• dispatch dates repeatedly changing
• generic product update emails that contradict order status
• no proactive notification when delays occur
• customers forced to constantly monitor their own orders
Delays can happen, but a 3-week delivery turning into a 9-month wait, combined with misleading updates and poor communication, is unacceptable — especially for premium-priced products.
At this point, Omlet’s delivery promises and product update communications simply cannot be relied upon. I still want the product, but I would strongly advise prospective customers to be cautious and not depend on the delivery timelines shown on the website.
I’m planning on trying to all Omlet again next week.
Might update feedback based on outcome.
Update (8 December 2025):
I’ve now spoken directly to Omlet by phone (the lady was very friendly!). I was told that the product is not in stock at all, that no orders have most likely not been dispatched at all, and that the delay is to do with no stock coming in. I was also informed that this is why the expected dispatch date has now moved to February 2026. Again, this is only an estimate and might be pushed back once again.
While I appreciate the honesty from the staff member I spoke to (who was polite and understanding), this confirms that the earlier delivery estimates and product update emails stating the item was “getting ready for dispatch” were inaccurate.
Update 2 (8 December 2025:
After leaving this review, Omlet contacted me directly by phone and told me that a glitch appeared to have cause my situation.
Shortly afterwards, my order was dispatched the same day, with next-day DHL delivery confirmed, and the delivery charge was refunded as a goodwill gesture.
I genuinely appreciate the personal follow-up and final resolution, and the staff member I spoke to was professional and kind as everybody else that I have previously been in contact with from Omlet.

I must be honest that I was very disappointed with Omlet as a new subscriber and the inability to use a welcome 10% discount on any feeder or drinker products.
Bearing in mind that the whole company revolves around and is based on poultry keeping etc. So to explain, I have kept poultry for some time now and was attracted to the drinker product which would prevent my girls going without water if the water froze.... I seen the advertisement for an insulated drinker on my Facebook page. When I looked at the price I thought well, it's expensive (£79.00) but just like most pet poultry keepers I thought...well they're worth it.
So I went to the site and went to order one, as i put the item into my basket i seen a notification saying new customer/new subscriber discount of 10% plus free postage....just needed to subscribe to their newsletter. Great, i went ahead.
How surprised was i to find out in the small print that although I could use the voucher across the site.... that i couldn't use the discount on any drinkers or feeders and wasn't able to enjoy free postage after all.
Think about this for a second.... their whole business was originally built on poultry keeping and yet the most essential parts of keeping any animal is to feed it/them.
I was flabbergasted....I emailed them to check and got a reply from customer services to confirm that my findings were correct. The contact from customer service saying that she would pass on my disappointed comments to the relevant department.
Safe to say I cancelled the purchase plus my newsletter subscription and have vowed not to use any of their products....ever, in the future.
Me and my flock will manage with hot water bottles etc., I won't let them down like Omlet.
My reply to customer services rep. reply 03/12/2025
Hi there Jacky,
Thanks for your reply.
However without a policy change from Omlet on feeders and drinkers being negated from any welcome or ongoing discounts my opinion will also not change.
In my original thread I feel that i must point out that in your reply you failed to address my point that the lifeblood of Omlet's business is Poultry and as it is a given that all Poultry must eat and drink to survive and can actually live without any of the other products that Omlet sell ....that a policy which denies a buyer from enjoying any discounts relating to feeders and drinkers is utterly bizarre and should be amended forthwith.
As for a discussion relating to this matter with your customer service team unless they have the authority to change this policy then this would simply be a waste of both of our times....as the outcome would be fruitless.
Please give my email address to your sales department and ask them to get in touch with me only if, after consideration, they agree and propose to change this bizarre policy which then fully welcomes new customers with the correct discount plus as advertised the free postage.
In the meantime, best wishes for the coming season of goodwill.

I’ve spent thousands on Omlet products and I honestly wish I hadn’t wasted a single penny. The quality is nowhere near what they claim, and the customer service is downright appalling.
Both of our auto door control panel housings snapped within a year because the plastic is so cheap and brittle it may as well be made of cardboard. These were installed exactly as instructed and never touched again — yet Omlet had the nerve to accuse us of “misusing” them. It’s an outrageous excuse to avoid taking responsibility for defective materials.
For a company charging premium prices, the products feel budget quality at best, and the customer service is the worst I’ve experienced in years. They dismiss genuine issues, refuse to help, and hide behind nonsense explanations instead of standing by their own products.
If you’re considering buying anything from Omlet, don’t. Save your money, because once something goes wrong (and it will), Omlet will do everything possible to blame you rather than fix their own failures. Absolutely disgraceful from start to finish. Your not even deserving of a 1 ⭐️

Absolutely loved our dog bed but decided to replace the cover. We got way too excited when the order came as loved the colour so chucked out the old original covers. Huge regret. The new bed cover doesn’t fit right at all, making the dog bed quite hard and look awful! Hoping this can be resolved asap.

Omlet is my go to shop for all things chicken. Bought coops, W.I.R's & all the other paraphernalia 12 years ago and they're still going strong.

Have quite a few of there products from the large Studio to there nest dog bed .... excellent products and really well made .
my only problem and this is one that i have had over the last 7 years of buying there products is that even washing the outer covers on all the beds on there recommended cool wash they always shrink .
i have just washed two of them this week and the same problem . no longer fit snug in the crate .

I bought an outdoor catio from them. The wire is quite thin and there are multiple places where the coating is missing so the underlying mesh will rust badly and the structure will fail. I complained and the advice was to dismantle the whole thing and send it back which we refused to do. I won't type what my husband said as it was him who erected it because my hands couldn't cope with fixings. The welds on the doors aren't at the correct angle so the doors don't close at you'd expect.
We used a lot of cable ties and protective tape to make it stronger and try to minimise abrasion taking even more of the coating off.
We hadn't opened the porch box at that point. We subsequently did and found exactly the same problem. I contacted Omlet and was told they'd replace it. I asked for the replacement to be checked for faults but was told they couldn't do it. Lo and behold the replacement had exactly the same issue.....
It's obvious the product is made in China :(
I also ordered the outdoor cat gym which has some idiosyncrasies in constructing but is pretty good hence the 2 star not 1 star review.
the customer service staff are very helpful - it's just a shame about the quality of the product...

The tofu cat litter is like dusty gravel! Nothing like the quality of other brands I've tried. 2 stars as it does the job just not well.

Great customer service ... love the fact you can move, rebuild, extend, add modules. Can be a bit complicated working out how to build stuff at times, but worth the effort.

Have two vertical poles that wont join, have sent video qnd multiple emails and go round in circles.
Will never order again
Have two of their coops and a huge run. Instructions were poor and the vertical poles.
Nestera products are better and customer service with omlet doesn't even meet basic consumer rights

An excellent product which is easy to order, can have multiple design opportunities, is well-made, solid and fairly easy to put together. The actual runs are straightforward (my hubby probably thinks I’ve underestimated here) with the outdoor cat trees being pretty tricky/fiddly but once we got the hang of it we were flying like pros!
The cats are getting used to their new outdoor space - not entirely happy as they’d been roamers before - and especially love the hammocks. We have now added a bench made from pallets and hubby is embarking on a wooden activity centre. The catio we’ve made is 5mx3m with three cat trees, ramps, scratching posts, hammocks, platforms and steps. The tunnels and towers run from our utility round plants, behind a shed and pond and into the catio which gives them chance to run up and down and continue to get good exercise.
We built the catio due to my increasing anxiety over their wandering and their safety crossing an increasingly busy ‘local’ road. They are still young enough (3) to adapt and live their lives safely for years to come.
