It's okay

It's okay . it doesn't cover non EU countries like Switzerland Monaco etc. Which is not nice. My friend had another sim which was covering them all and we had to use his Internet when travelling . even calls in eu makes the balance go 0 in two minutes. I am thinking to switching to a sim with most countries coverage for cheap Internet in non eu

It is correct that OiSTER does not offer international telephony in countries such as Switzerland, Monaco, etc.

You are also right that it costs money to make calls abroad from Denmark. If you are staying in a country with which we have an agreement, it will be possible to call other EU countries without being charged extra for the call. Therefore, you would be able to stay in Germany and make a call to a Spanish phone number for free.

I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, now it’s time to say bye.

After being a loyal customer for over a decade I have had it!
I was traveling to Türkiye and within 40sec from arriving I had used for 1000 DKK data (my boyfriend and I literally just opened our phones!!).

When I go to my subscription page it says that “Udenlandstelefoni med data” is included, but apparently it only means that your phone can work all over the world, nothing more than that. But I was not even able to send a text when I arrived, but you made sure to charge me for those two unsuccessful send texts (thank you!)
They only provide services when you are within EU.
This story I s even more ridiculous, because I was in Israel back in 2019, with no issues at all (and no, customer support person, I was not on Wi-Fi the whole time). As I did in Türkiye, open my phone at arrival and the whole week my phone was working and there was no extra charge when I got home.
So I was surprised and baffled that because I travelled to Türkiye I’m being charged an extra 1000 DKK within the first 40sec after opening my phone upon arrival.

Why is there such a huge difference between Türkiye and Israel - they are both out side of EU.
Please make it super clear for your customers that they can only use data within EU, and good luck trying to travel outside of EU and using your phone.

You have lost 4 loyal customers, who never experience any issues, but this is just too ridiculous and no help from your customers support. I have had it.

Although we strive to provide good coverage in our network, it is unfortunately not always possible to achieve broad coverage in all areas. There can be several factors that affect the quality of coverage, such as terrain, the number of transmission towers, or the distance to the nearest tower.

In your case, it may indicate that the tower is overloaded during evening hours due to high activity. There are some settings you can adjust on your router that we could try.

Have very bad experience with OISTER.dk
Their payment system is completely messed up and you can't get either a registration or account number for their van, so you can transfer money manually if you don't have the option to pay via MobilePay.
However, they also allow you to close your subscription and when you need to call e.g. the municipality or another public body, it will be called up by their customer service. And you close your subscription without giving notice. It is very cross-border.
For me, it has had economic consequences, as I had a telephone meeting with the municipality, which I could not hold because of this..
Cannot recommend OISTER.dk to others..

If an OiSTER account has a negative balance, we always send an email and SMS regarding the outstanding amount. Additionally, we provide a link to log in to Mit OiSTER, where you can conveniently make the payment for the outstanding balance.


Regarding the payment system, we apologize if you experienced difficulties in obtaining registration or account numbers for manual money transfers. We strive to provide a seamless and user-friendly payment process, and we apologize if we fell short of meeting your expectations in this regard.

ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DATA ROAMING WHEN OUTSIDE EU

After a questionable charge of 531.2DKK for having my data roaming on by default on a new phone while landing in Switzerland and India, a first fail with the website's customer service, and writing a bad review here, I was then contacted by Sofie from Oister's trustpilot customer service, which has been the most professional and understanding assistant. She helped me with my case and managed to restore my trust on the Company.

I also learned important lessons: never lose your hope and always double check data roaming when Outside EU!

Like the airlines, we always recommend that you put your phone on airplane mode or turn off your phone completely, so that you don't get an unpleasant surprise with incorrect charges. But of course we also know that this sort of thing can easily slip away or there may be a situation where you have to use your phone.

Something that pulls data could be, for example, notifications from Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp, etc. If you therefore have data roaming activated on your phone while you are outside the EU, you will automatically be connected to a foreign cell tower, and will be charged for any usage.
SMS and calls do not use data in the same way as if you surf the internet.

We offer free telephony in the EU, and since Switzerland is not part of the EU/EEA, we do not offer free telephony in this particular country.

I have just moved all the family over…

I have just moved all the family over to Oister and my sons mobile has had no connections for days. I have tried to ring oister to sort it out, only to sit in a phone queue for hours..... this is not very good :(

However, you can try to switch on data roaming on your mobile if you have not already done so, which gives you access to use 3's roaming partner, and will possibly catch a better signal.

I'm kindda of new customer (only a few…

I'm kindda of new customer (only a few months), but I can say that the internet is the best!. I life in the countryside and was paying an expensive fiber net that was problematic, disconnecting all the time. I changed to OiSTER cuz I though: if it is as bad as fiber net at least I am paying half. But it is strong, fantastic and we only bought 1 router. I recommend it 100 %
